Earlier this year when Simon Cowell announced that he was leaving American Idol after this season. There were alot of questions as to why now?
Well after watching this season so far...I now know why. Simon realized that the talent has gotten diluted year after year and we are faced with the weakest season yet!!!
Maybe American Idol needs a hiatus like the one that Canadian Idol took last year.
The only problem is it doesn't look like anyone is resurecting Canadian Idol...
Very sad news today that 38 year old actor Corey Haim passed away due to an accidental overdose. I remember as a kid having a HUGE crush on him. (Watch the movie License to Drive). Super sad news. Corey was originally from Toronto before he moved to LA. RIP Corey
ATTENTION DANCERS!! Think you got what it takes to be the next Nico or Tara?? Then make sure you head to the auditions for season 3 of So You Think You Can Dance Canada this weekend in Calgary. Should I show up and do the Saskatchewan Shopping Cart move? Also, Stacey Tookey will join the Show Friday morning!! Good luck!!
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA - Calgary Auditions
So now that i'm in a new relationship, I've been trying to think of the reasons the previous ones didn't work!! Here is a list of the little things that may get overlooked! Remember, sometimes it's the little things that help....I think. Here is a list that may help!!
1. Go to bed at the same time
Happy couples resist the temptation to go to bed at different times. They go to bed at the same time, even if one partner wakes up later to do things while their partner sleeps.
Calgary Roller Derby Girls Left Out In The Cold - No venue available for our free-wheelin' girls to practice their hits
The Calgary Roller Derby Association is in desperate need of practice space. Their weekday practice space no longer available in the evenings, the CRDA has been left with nowhere to skate. With a scrimmage on March 20th, and a bout in Edmonton at the end of the month, the derby girls are anxious to find somewhere to hone their skills. To ensure the high level of play Calgary derby fans have grown accustomed to, these women need to find a home!
Today I am heading back to the fantastic Inglewood Beauty Bar to get my first 'fill' on my eyelash extensions. It has been over 4 weeks since I have had the lashes done, and they still look great! If you have a big event coming up like a wedding or maybe your just lacking in the eyelash department like myself, I would totally recommend checking them out.
Last time I got the lashes I went au natural...I am thinking of adding a little excitement to the lashes. Hot pink? Diamonds? They do it all!!
You may think you go through life demonstrating decent manners, but there's a good chance you're guilty of making one of these Top 10 etiquette mistakes:
10. Failing to introduce people. (It's always awkward if you don't introduce two people when you're their only shared acquaintance.)
9. Not excusing yourself to take a cell phone call. (This is especially aggravating at the dinner table.)
After 17 intense days of competition in Vancouver at the 2010 Olympics it is all over. I am very sad about it...I was ADDICTED to watching our athletes perform. Yesterday, when they were doing the Olympic recap of all the medal winners...I cried. Teared up a bit just because I was so proud of them.
What better way to end off the games than with the HUGE win last night against the United States in OT. Way to go boys!!! I think the games in Van were amazing and that our athletes represented our country with pride.
People are always telling you why you shouldn't get married. They all give the same reasons: you lose your independence, the sex goes away, etc. Then they tell you how 50 percent of marriages end in divorce. Well, that may be true, but if 50 percent end in divorce, that means 50 percent don't.
So, courtesy of AskMen.com, here are 10 reasons why you should get married.
10. Marriage makes you live longer. Studies suggest that the rate of mortality is 250 percent higher among single men.
Today's Hot Olympian of the Day: SIDNEY CROSBY Yes, Sid the Kid has grown up to be quite the cutie. Hopefully he can bring home the gold this weekend in hockey!!
Today I pick the very cute Ryan Getzlaf who plays hockey for Team Canada. (Also a fellow Saskie, so he get's extra points).
Born and raised in Regina, Getzlaf started skating at the age of four and grew up playing numerous sports with his older brother Chris, who is currently a slotback for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Getzlaf helped Team Canada beat Norway 8-0 in the first game of the 2010 Olympics by scoring one goal. He also scored the first goal against Russia.
How Do I Tell Co-Worker Not to Talk To Me in The Bathroom?
Do you like it when one of your coworkers tries to have a conversation with you while you’re peeing in the bathroom at work? I find it annoying and have a problem with this guy I work with who constantly strikes up conversation with me at the urinal.
I don’t know how to tell him to stop talking to me, I don’t want to be too rude because I work with the guy but I can’t talk and pee at the same time. Should I say something or just let it go?
The poo talker is even worse....
Marc
Scott won gold last night in Ice Dance with his partner Tessa. HE's from London, Ontario and 22 years old. He has been skating with his partner since he was 9 and she was 7. So cute. And handsome!! Especially with the gold medal around his neck.
Enjoy these pics. They do have his cute partner Tessa in them too!! Way to go Scott & Tessa!!
As long as video games have been around, they've gotten a bad rap. But, like all vices, there are some very good reasons guys can't stop playing.
Despite the fact that most women hate games, there are some very good and specific reasons video games are more popular than ever.
Here are a few reasons men love playing video games so much:
1. Buddies -- Video gamers aren't just lonely guys in their basement anymore. These days, games bring friends together. They're either playing Rock Band together while drinking beers -- or hanging out together online. Amazingly, video games have become one of the more socially active hobbies you can have.
Today I have decided on local hottie Stefan Read. He will be competing later on today in Ski Jumping. He first started ski jumping when he was 12 years old at Canada Olympic Park.
Our Flames Captain Jarome Iginla has been playing stellar so far on Team Canada. Jarome is a hometown hottie and deserves to be today's Hot Olympian of the Day.
I never knew this about Jarome...his FULL name is crazy long. And ONE of his middle names is Elvis. He is a hunk hunk of burning love! His full name is: Jarome Arthur-Leigh Adekunle Tig Junior Elvis Iginla
I think being from Saskatchewan I have a spot in my heart for curlers. I grew up curling in small town Handel, SK...and ladies YES there are some hot curlers out there. (Team Norway's pants should be nominated too haha). I have had a few emails from ladies saying "John Morris" is dreamy. He's on Team Canada's Curling team as skipped by Kevin Martin. He also calls Calgary home and when he's not on the ice he's melting it...he's a fire fighter!!
So why is it that the guy always has to ask out the girl? I think it should be whoever wants the date!!! Guys get nervous too. It would be a nice change if every once in a while the girl stepped up and just laid it out there. Here are a few tips if you wanna give it a shot!!
ASK HIM OUT!
"Men find it refreshing when a female asks them out. And, making the first move is also empowering for women.
1. Buy Him A Drink If a guy catches your eye while you're out with friends, send over a beer. Obviously, this lets him know that you're interested -- and it also forces him to make the next move and come over and say thank you.
Men in tights are sexy...I don't care what anyone says, especially our Speed Skaters!! Today's HOT Olympian of the Day is Jeremy Wotherspoon. Vancouver 2010 are Jeremy's 4th Winter Games...and he's only 33! Cheer on Jeremy today at 3pm in the 1000m.
Jersey Shore is kinda like a car accident. You don't want to see it but you can't look away!!! Anyways here are actually a few tips you can actually use from Jersey Shore.....WEIRD
JERSEY LESSONS
Think you can't learn anything from the cast of Jersey Shore? Think again. It may not be their wisdom, but the Shore [or, SHO-AH] can teach you a thing or two, like ...
Confidence is everything -- Are you worrying about a couple extra pounds, or that little imperfection? Snookie sure doesn't, and yet, the gal gets plenty of attention. You're hot!Keep it in mind, and who cares what anyone else thinks?
Today I have decided on our silver medal winner Mike Robertson. Mike won silver in the snowboard cross yesterday. He is originally from Edmonton...but now trains and calls Canmore home.
Since converting from his former life as an alpine skier at age 10 or 11, he's found himself on the podium at just two World Cups; he was a career-best second on the Cypress Mountain course a year ago. And Robertson only qualified for these Olympics in late January; he joked that he's a procrastinator.
The Olympics are underway and we now have our first gold medal thanks to Alex Bilodeau!! He won gold in moguls and made history after becoming the first Canadian to strike Olympic gold at home...and he is not only super talented but super cute!
He is 22 years old. His mother forced him to quit playing hockey at the age of seven, so he grudgingly moved to the freestyle club at the local ski hill. And it paid off!!
Today's Hot Olympian of the Day goes to ALEX BILODEAU!!!
Tonight the 2010 Olympic games in Vancouver fire up!! I'm an Olympic nerd and can't wait to cheer on Canada and all our athletes as they go for GOLD. This year I am going to put up the "HOT OLYMPIAN" of the Day. Everyday I will post a picture and bio of one of our country's amazing athletes. Have one I should talk about? Email me dani@vibe985.com
Next week I'm going to be lucky enough to head to Vancouver...and I won't be going alone.
ATCO’s Celebrating Excellence program, the Government of Alberta and WinSport Canada are sending 249 girls and boys in grades 4 thru 12 from all across Alberta who are demonstrating excellence in each of their communities to Olympics...and I get to accompany them!!!
Kids were asked to submit short compositions explaining what they are doing to demonstrate leadership or their commitment to community. Check out some of the entries.
I know times are tough and not everybody can afford a dozen roses, a fancy dinner, and some expensive chocolate on Valentines Day!!! I think the ladies will appreciate you making a card, having dinner at home and cuddling up on the couch with a movie just as much!!!
Who says Valentine's Day movies have to be sappy chick flicks? Here are some stay-at-home DVD suggestions you'll both like!
This weekend a bunch of my single girlfriends and I are going to be doing a lot of Anti-Valentines Day activities including watching a few movies.
While couples snuggle in front of sappy romantic comedies this Valentine's Day, the unattached can dive into movies that will remind them being single isn't so bad after all. Here is a list of 12 Anti-Valentines Day movies.
Who knows this valentines day you might even get a little kissy action from the one you love!!! I would hate for that to be ruined by dragon breath!! Some people don't even know they have it...Do you? Here are a few tips just in case....
How to keep your breath its freshest on Valentines Day:
Drink plenty of water - the less dry your mouth, the fresher your breath Drink Tea instead of coffee -
Avoid sugar as much as possible. Sugar feeds the bad breath bacteria. Look for sugar free gum and mints, such as French Kiss Gum
I have never been one for flowers, jewels or chocolates. Give me a new pair of sneakers, jeans or a funky t-shirt to win my heart. This Valentines Day I am seeming a bit more anti-Valentines Day, I think it's because I am single. Or is it because I am afraid of cupid? Not sure. I'm not the only one who doesn't like Valentines Day. Here are 6 other celebs who agree with me.
6 Celebs Who Hate Valentine's Day
(thefrisky.com)
Ashton Kutcher
Ashton Kutcher told us how he really felt about the dreaded upcoming holiday. "I hate Valentine's Day. I think every day should be a day of romance. Then, on Valentine's Day, you should get to tell whoever you hate that you cannot stand them. There would be one day of hating, and 364 days of love." Not to be a Scrooge, but I think that sounds like a pretty grand plan.
OK, so you're single on Valentine's Day ... So?? That's no reason to sit at home watching The Notebook and crying into a pint of ice cream. Instead, why not take back the holiday and do one of these 8 things? ...
1. Send someone flowers -- Your best friend? Your mom? Your dad? Whose day would you brighten with a bouquet?
2. Host a mixer -- Why not host cocktails for your single friends ... and their single friends? Decorate in a Valentine's theme and start some racy "get to know you" games. You'll all have fun and romance, without all the holiday's stress.

So hopefully this doesn't make me any less of a guy, but I thought this years Superbowl stunk. I watch every year not because my favourite team is playing but because it used to be a "show." To me if you are scheduled to do the halftime show at the biggest sporting event of the year, you should be the biggest artist in entertainment that year!!! Can somebody please refresh my memory and tell me what Grammy The Who won this year? Man what a snoooooozer. I saw them forget the words to songs they have been singing for 72 years now. If Pete Townshend gave us one more preview of his old man gut while trying the reverse windmill on his guitar, I was going to throw up in my chili. Why not have Beyonce, or Taylor Swift, or Miley even? I bet it would have been more entertaining!!! I guess Janet Jackson ruined it forever.....Only crusty old guys allowed on the stage at the Superbowl from now on!!!!

I heart football but mostly CFL with my Saskie Riders. This Sunday it's SUPERBOWL Sunday and my boyfriend Tom Brady isn't in it, so my heart isn't really in the game. BUT...if your having a Superbowl party and wanna get geared up for the game I think this will help...the 10 HOTTEST BUTTS in the SUPERBOWL!!
So Yesterday I posted how to have a perfect Superbowl Party!!! But it wasn't the healthiest. Maybe your still working on your new years resolution or trying to keep in shape EVEN superbowl Sunday!! Here are a few things you can substitute the chips, chili, and chips with this Sunday!!!
DIET & EXERCISE: Have A Healthy Super Bowl Party (Posted 3:00 AM, 2/4/2010)
Grocery stores across the country have set up giant displays of soda, chips, dip, beer, burgers, and more. It's a jungle out there and if you're not careful when getting ready for your Super Bowl party, you'll fill your car's trunk with nothing but toxic junk food.
I have heard from more than a few people about the miracle of OIL OF OREGANO...that is cures everything from colds to acne to earaches! Yesterday, I went to Shoppers to buy the pills but couldn't find them...so just bought the oil. You have to mix the oil with the water and drink it. It tastes like oregano and water and is quite icky, but I do feel better after doing it a few times yesterday. Do you think it's ok that I used crystal light juice and oil of oregano the 2nd go around? Do you have any home remedies that can cure the common cold...or ear aches. Message me! Dani dani@vibe985.com
So if your throwing a big shaker this weekend for the superbowl here are a few rules that must be paid attention to!!! Ladies if you throw this party, your man will do whatever you want for days!!
Super Bowl Sunday is pretty much a guy's holiest day of the year, where we get to sit around with our buddies, watch football and drink beer. This year, you could throw the greatest Super Bowl party ever.
Here is a list of the Top 10 Super Bowl party must-have products that will make your friends want to come back to your place next year.
According to popular legend, the groundhog -- or woodchuck -- emerges from his winter hibernation on Groundhog Day, traditionally celebrated on February 2nd. If the day is sunny and the groundhog sees his shadow, he expects storms will come and retreats back inside to hibernate for six more weeks of winter.
If it is overcast and he does not see a shadow, he expects moderate weather and remains above ground as spring is near!
First off my beauty routine pretty much consists of me waking up, showering, putting a little bit of make up on and out the door. I don't wear too much make up, but I have always noticed that my eyelashes are super short. Recently, some girls at work have been talking about the Inglewood Beauty Bar and their eyelash extensions. So I emailed the crew there and am going to get some today. I'm nervous. I have never even waxed my eyebrows!! I will make sure to take before and after pictures.
I'm obviously the first to admit that I am no expert when it comes to this subject, but I did the next best thing and looked up a few tips for the guys out there!!! So ladies maybe just email these to your better half and hope to see some results!!!
keeping romance alive:
"Compliment her on the things she does better than you, like tidying up the house or washing the car."
"Regularly praise her cooking no matter how bad it is."
"Don't' just grunt, but let your wife know you really appreciate her for popping the top on another cold one when you finish off a beer while watching a game on the tube. Give her a big kiss and look at her while you're smooching not at the game."
"Let her handle the remote once in a while. Be a sweetheart and tell her: "There's nothing worth watching so you can turn the channel to whatever you like. Watch that ice show you've been talking about."
Flatter her when she dresses up with complements like: "Hey, hey, still looking goooood!
Today I will be taking my first ever boxing class at Impact Boxing. I have never fought in my life...and have spaghetti arms aka no muscles. I am super nervous about it, but I think it will be tons of fun. Will I be on Celebrity Boxing with Tonya Harding after? BT's Jill Belland is also taking the class. Fun fun fun.
This weekend I plan on buying an Ipod touch...but have no clue as to how many gigs I need?! Any recommendations would be awesome. 32g? 64g? Is the Touch the way to go? So many options...
There has been some speculation that the reason that no one has seen Tiger Woods is because his wife Elin allegedly struck him in the face with a golf club.
Well Tiger maybe ready for public appearances sooner rather than later...
Thanks to a company that's making Tiger Woods masks!!!
It maybe a little early...but I think I may already have my Halloween costume.
My wife with a 3 iron me with a Tiger Woods mask!!!
Today we made another What You Wish Wednesday come true. Every year at Zoolights we have the Vibe Wishing Tree...and we make one wish come true, someone wanted to donate $1000 to the website http://www.bridgemycommunity.org/. I had never heard of this site before What You Wish, and WOW it's awesome!! If you have clothing, food, furniture you can donate people are looking for these things. Super touching site. Here's a bit of how it works. The following 4 steps capture the entire "bridgemycommunity" process:
IT's everyone's guilty pleasure where they admit it or not...so now you find out which Jersey Shore character you are. Take the quiz here. I am SNOOKI!! YIKES!! I guess we do look similar?!
Marc and Fuzzy have created a dating profile for me...I know SCARY. And look what I read today should be in your profile picture. Agree or disagree? dani@vibe985.com
Maybe I should use this picture??
Gain Attention with Profile Pic Featuring Cleavage & Canines
The online dating site OKcupid.com has analyzed successful profile pictures. Women get the most attention looking coy holding the camera above her head. Naturally, flirtatious poses are appealing and work well for younger women. These photos also capture a glimpse of her cleavage. Flashing just a little bit gets a guy's attention. OKcupid says women over the age of 30 get twice as many online dates when they do a "peek-a-boo" shot of the boobs.
I have to admit...I do have a pretty cool job...but I may have come across an even sweeter job.
International hotel chain Holiday Inn is offering a trial human bed-warming service at three hotels in Britain this month.
If requested, a willing staff-member at two of the chain's London hotels and one in the northern English city of Manchester will dress in an all-in-one fleece sleeper suit before slipping between the sheets.
So there was a fire at my Condo Building tonight!! Pretty crazy stuff. From what I know the whole tenth floor is pretty messed up. I got home and all my light fixtures are full of water and my carpets are soaked right through to the underlay. Brutal. Now they gave m...e a giant fan to put in my living room overnight to dry it? How will i sleep with that thing on? 330am is gonna be here pretty quick I think.
Here are a few pics I snapped during the madness!!
Check this out!!! AHHAHAHAH I always think chicks hear me pee, freaks me out a bit...never again!!!
The Pee Without Noise Stool is one of those ideas that's so cool we're embarrassed we didn't think of it before. We've all been there: it's 2am in a sleeping house, your mother-in-law is right behind you in line for the potty, or you don't want to broadcast the fact that you downed six glasses of beer over the course of your date.
As great as it is to be able to pee standing up, there are some situations where you just want to do your business discreetly, and having the outlet several feet above the bowl makes it hard to keep the volume down.
Tomorrow I will head out east for the first time ever!! I'm excited. I will be visiting my friend Darren in Thunder Bay...because he tells me it's beautiful this time of year, then jetting off to see my friend Dani who works for CMT in Toronto. So....since I have never been to Ontario, I would love some advice on what to do and see!! I hear "Sweaty Betty's" is a fun place in TO. What else should I do? Be back on Jan 25th.
Tonight Vibe has the premiere of the Lovely Bones at Chinook Centre. I have read the book by Alice Sebold at least 3 times in the last 10 years...love it. I also enjoy myself some Mark Whalberg who plays the dad. I have been hearing that it's nothing like the book though, so I'm making sure to go into the movie with an open mind. The movie is directed by Peter Jackson who did Lord of the Rings...will their be hobbits in it? I will make sure to let you know my thoughts on the movie tomorrow! Move over Snuggie...there's a new rocking blanket out that's causing a stir. It's called the Toasty!! It will cost $60 bucks and be out this spring. It's electric!! Can I still answer the phone with an electric snuggie and read a book like in my original one? Hmmm. Check out the Toasty!! Would you buy? Dani
1. A black eye. Unless the rim hits your face mid-dunk, your peepers should remain unblemished. You're smart enough to talk your way out of any fight you're going to lose.
2. A witty e-mail signature. Quotes and song lyrics should be heard during toasts and karaoke performances, respectively. Don't let your electronic correspondence become the digital version of a motivational poster.
3. An empty refrigerator. Your larder should be amply stocked, your pantry provisioned. Always aim to be ready to create an on-the-fly, three-course dinner for her...along with breakfast in bed.
1. Have a friend call your phone and pretend to be your parole officer. Tell your date you've got to be home within 10 minutes or your ankle bracelet monitor will send you "back to the slammer."
2. Tell him you're late for an appointment with your fertility doctor, then cross your fingers and whisper: "Octuplets!"
3. Start sneezing and say you're having an allergy attack. When he asks what you're allergic to, choose any food item on his plate or fabric on his person.
Everyone is trying to save some dough in the New Year, and if your single and trying to get out on as many dates as you can here are a few fun ones I found that are under $10!! How cool!! Any others you can think of? dani@vibe985.com
The $10 First Date
(www.filife.com)
It's cool to be savvy with your money in 2010, and you can show off your smarts in your dating life without seeming cheap. Here are a few ideas to impress your date for under $10.
1. Be your own BFF (best friend forever). Enjoy your own company. Embrace everything about you! Without a doubt, it's the most important step towards being a happy person.
2. Smile, giggle, snicker, or chuckle! Smiling releases serotonin in the brain, which instantaneously gives your mood a lift.
3. Dream big in every area of life. Set your life in motion and manifest your heart's desire.
4. Shut the doors and the windows tight! And then put on your favorite song and sing out loud. Let it rip!
When the year changes to 2010 at midnight on December 31st, it will not only mark the end of 2009, but the end of the first decade of the 21st century. To mark the end of the decade, New York magazine put together a list of, quote, "everyday stuff rendered obsolete in the aughts." It includes:
Next Friday I fly out east for the first time ever!! The farthest east I have been is Brandon, Manitoba. I'm pretty pumped. I will be spending a few days visiting in Thunder Bay, which I hear is lovely this time of year and then jetting off to Toronto to spend a few days with my good friend Dani. Since I have never been I would like to know if you have any tips on what I should check out!! Email me dani@vibe985.com. Yaaa for vacation!
Alright ladies here is a list of deal breakers...If your BF is on this list you may wanna break it off!!!! Also fellas, if you're reading this and you're on it...fix it fast!!!!
Here are some "Deal Breakers" for relationships from last night's 30 Rock.
If your man is over 30 and still wears a nametag to work, that's a deal breaker.
If your man collects action figures, that's a deal breaker.
If your man took you back to his house on the handlebars of his bike, that's a deal breaker.
If he picks you up after practicing Jedi moves in the park. That's a deal breaker.
Did you end up catching this new reality show 'gem' last night? I gotta say...I went in thinking I was going to hate it and kind of liked it. I almost liked it better than the premiere of the Bachelor last night. I am not a fan of Jake on it...he's too perfect and goodie goodie for me.
The Conveyor Belt of Love combines flash dating on a MOVING conveyor belt. 30 men speed buy on a belt, while 5 women pick and swap. It's my new fave.
I am pretty pumped tonight it's the return of the Bachelor. One of my TV guilty pleasures. This season it will feature Mr. Perfect aka Jake the Pilot from last season with Jillian. 2 of the contestants are Canadian including one from here in Calgary. Tiana, is a medical technician from here! GO TIANA!!
Jake was known for being too perfect last season, so I'm hoping he spices things up!! Should be interesting. Yaaaaaaaaa. D
Several blogs and websites are reporting that the Jonas Brothers are headed for a band breakup. A "family insider" reportedly told Rob Shuter of Popeater.com, "Joe sees the writing on the wall for the group . . . Kevin's heart is just not in the group anymore. His wife Danielle is his number one priority, especially after their wedding night!"
Meanwhile, a friend reportedly tells the site, "Nick sees himself as the next Justin Timberlake and brother Joe knows it." When we spoke with Nick about his new project he told us that yes, they are each working on individual things but they are also doing Jonas Brothers things as well, including another tour. Nick explains, "We can't wait to do what we're going to do in the new year on our own, and then come together in February to do the second season of a TV show and a tour next year...
Wow. 2009 has been quite a year...and all I can say is bring on 2010!! Cheers to an awesome New Years! Dani Here is me raising a glass of bubbly with you!
Tomorrow night I will be MC'ing the huge party at Hotel Arts to ring in 2010. IT's called "Mascherari-New Years Eve Masquerade Ball". I have never been to a masquerade ball before and I'm super excited. I picked up a funky feathery mask at Chuckles last night and fancy outfit to top it off.
Here is a bit of info about the big party if you wanna join me! Enter our Grand ballroom doors to a spellbinding and colourful world that awaits beyond the realms of your imagination. Curious characters defy belief and silent smiles will tease, beguile, and entertain you.
Here are Professor Wiseman's 10 secrets of success when making New Year resolutions:
1. Make only one resolution -- focus your energy on really adopting one new behavior.
2. Don't wait until New Year's Eve -- spend some time to reflect on what you want to achieve.
3. Avoid previous resolutions -- deciding to re-visit a past resolution sets you up for frustration and disappointment. Try a new resolution, and prove to yourself that you are capable of change.
4. Don't run with the crowd -- consider what you really want out of life, and what would have the biggest personal impact.
This New Years eve I'm hosting the big party at Hotel Arts. It's a masquerade themed party. I'm super excited! To find out more about the event go here.
The big problem for me is finding something funky to wear and pull it off. So here are a few tips you can use this NYE! Bring on 2010!!
Steal-the-Spotlight Party Outfits
Forget the little black dress. This season your party style is all about color and sparkle.
Do something ballsy. We're about to embark into a new decade here! Take the initiative and do something that the "2000-2009 You" would've been terrified of. Ask that guy you've been eyeing (and Fbook stalking) since last January to chill (or meet you at the bar) over break. Kiss a stranger (okay, maybe not a total stranger. There's a lot to worry about these days!).
Make some NY resolutions. Put it in writing that you plan to ditch the nasty social smoking habit you've acquired (and only recently found out about via Facebook photos).
Ahhhhh. Merry Christmas everybody. Today is my last show until next Monday the 28th. I'm so pumped. I am going to spend the week in balmy Saskie with my family and friends. Should be awesome. I hope Santa spoils all of you. Even the naughty ones! Merry Christmas Dani I hope Santa brings me this!
Ho ho ho!! Merry Christmas. Santa will be here very soon...and if you want to talk to Santa, you are in luck. I found 5 ways to get ahold of Santa this holiday season. Yes. The big guy in red. You can even CHAT with him live if you have an iphone. How cool. I'm going to prank Santa until he knows that I have been a very 'nice' girl this season. Find out how to talk to Santa here.
Last night the Vibe Morning Show cooked along with the new Gordon Ramsay show. Ok...Marc cooked for me and Chalsey and my friend Mackenzie, but we tested out the new show. I love Gord...he didn't call Marc a donkey once.
We had to stop a few times. It goes very fast. I would suggest that you PVR it...and go at your own pace. We missed how to make the dessert and Marc's pvr was too full of Littlest Hobo reruns we couldn't rewind. Marc cooked 3 things.
1. Angel hair pasta and shrimp---SO GOOD!!
2. Steak Diane, potatoes and peas---The potatoes were amazing
Woo hoo. Today I'm pretty pumped because the Hangover is out on DVD. I went and saw it in the theatres and laguhed so hard I was almost hyperventilating. I hope it's not sold out everywhere by the time I get off at work. Merry Christmas to me. dani@vibe985.com
Ahhh. One more week before I take off to hot, sunny, balmy Saskatchewan. This weekend it was -52 there!! Brrrrrrrrrr. I still can't wait to get home. It's been too long. Rumor has it a big sledding party is planned, and I'm pumped. I am also excited for HOME COOKING. Mmm. My mom messaged me last night and asked what I wanted to eat...I said TURKEY, potatoes, mushroom rolls (my moms are amazing), and pretty much anything homemade. I'm sure I will gain 15lbs next week. What do you love about being home?? Do you think it's ok to wear my new Reindeer PJs the entire week I am home?? It is Saskie after all. (I kid cause I love).
WHY: The toy shelves are bare and we want everyone to have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
WHAT: Bring down and a new UNWRAPPED TOY or a FROZEN turkey...and you can win big!
WHO: Santa Stickey will be on location all morning spreading holiday cheer.
Bring down a frozen turkey or unwrapped new toy and you will be entered to win a ton of prizes...including the hottest item on everyone's Christmas list at VIBE 98-5 STOCKING worth over $1000. Plus our good friends at Future Shop are donating a Nintendo Wii, the New Super Mario Bros game which is SOLD out in our city, and DJ HERO!!!! Wow.
Everyone and their dog seems to have Snuggies....except me. Yes, I do feel left out but Santa knows that is what I want. I have a few friends who seem to wear their Snuggie ALL THE TIME. Even at work!! Is that normal? When I get my snuggie can I wear it around work? Will Boss Chad get mad??
Waiting to unwrap my Snuggie.... dani dani@vibe985.com
As some of you may know or not, Trump and I broke up about a month ago and it's still very hard. I listen to alot of music, and of course now when I listen I think every song is talking about our relationship. haha. I found this list of the TEN SONGS you need to listen to after you break up. Am I missing any??
dani@vibe985.com
10 Songs You Should Listen to After a Breakup
Carrie Underwood, Before He Cheats (Carrie Underwood)
They came, they conquered... they were never heard from again. After reaching the Hot 100's Top 10 with their very first singles, none of these acts managed to crack the Top 25 for the rest of the decade. But hey, four minutes of fame is better than nothing.
#1 ONE HIT WONDER of the 2000's....drumroll....
DANIEL POWTER and his song BAD DAY. Daniel Powter's "Bad Day" was used as the kiss-off song for the 5th season of "American Idol," which gave the song enough juice to become the biggest single of 2006. The song went to No. 1 in April and stayed at the top for five weeks. But Powter's good fortune didn't last long; he hasn't visited the Hot 100 since.
I'm not looking forward to later today because I have to make the yearly trip to the dentist. Ok...let's be honest it's been almost 2 years since I last went and I know I have a few cavities. I have a fear of the dentist because when I was in grade 4 the dentist didn't put enough freezing in my mouth and I could feel the pain...and obliviously have not forgot that horrifying moment. Today, I'm going in for a cleaning and check up at Solace Dental Care and I should warn them...I'm a baby. I wonder if I will come out with new veeners? Hopefully I will come out with a clean bill of mouth health. And a new toothbrush!
Ho Ho Ho! Tomorrow I am going to be live downtown on Stephen Avenue for the kick off to the SEASON OF WONDER! Santa heard about this and he is going to be making an appearance. He probably also heard that I have been very NICE this year and not naughty. Bring down the kids to meet Santa!! There will be hayrides, face painting, North Pole letter writing (I already have mine written) and more much. Kick off starts at 12pm. For more info head to getdown.ca
Make sure to BUNDLE up tomorrow too. It's gonna be chilly for Santa's arrival.
First off let me apologize for being absent here in the blogoshere...I've been focusing my attention on winning the final 2 challenges in the Marc VS Fuzzy $10,000 Charity Challenge, my efforts paid off, and I was crowned the victor earlier this week.
I've taken a few days to decide where my money will be going...and Ive decided to split it up.
Sunday afternoon I will be attending the Calgary Humane Society's 30th Annual Christmas Party for the Animals where I will be presenting them with a cheque for $5000.
The Calgary Humane Society was very helpful in challenge #2 'Calendar Boys'...and I've had a chance to see some of the fantastic work that they have done over the years.
People register for weddings, baby showers, parties and now you can register for CHRISTMAS!! I like this idea. This way your friends and family know what you need/want and can go from there. If you have someone on your holiday list that is SUPER tough to buy for...then they can register for what they want and presto it makes your life a lot simpler. Check out wishpot.com for more info. And in case you were planning on buying me a present I have copied my Christmas wish list below. :-)
So Challenge #7 went down over the weekend and fuzzy came up victorious!! We had to be in reindeer suits for a week and whoever had trhe most paparazzi pics emailed in won. This was the final challenge so Fuzzy won the entire thing!! I guess my strategy of being at all the bars and grey cup parties didn't really pay off!!! Everybody took lots of pics but nobody mailed em in!! ahaha Oh well, either way $10,000 goes to charity which is the reason we do this contest in the first place!!
I guess i'll be the first to congradulate Fuzzy on his big win afterall, this is the first time in 3 years that he's pulled it off!! aahaha It only makes me wanna work that much harder next time to take Fuzzy down!!!!
23 SHOPPING days before Christmas!! I have yet to buy one gift. I'm sooooooo not in the holiday spirit. I am jealous of everyone who has their facebook status and bbm's to say something like "Bring on Christmas" or "Happy Holidays"...I'm like the Grinch. Why am I not in the spirit?? What can I do to get in the holiday spirit? I feel very grinchy. How do you get in the holiday spirit? Sing Christmas carols? Decorate your house? Bake? Let me know! dani@vibe985.com
Today is World Aids Day. Find out why having a yummy Starbucks can help raise money!!
It's the 2009 World AIDS Day today and people from all across the world, have already been doing their bits to raise money and awareness. And according to reports from fastcasual.com, Starbucks Coffee Company is one of them.
Starbucks recently announced that on World AIDS Day, December 1st, it will be making a 5-cent contribution to the Global Fund, for every hand-crafted beverage that is sold today, at participating stores in the U.S. and Canada.
Rider fans across the nation are sad today after last night's loss. Wow. What an intense game. Crazy. RIDERS 2010?!?! Wooo hoo. The Rider pride in Calgary was amazing. Good work. There were some amazing costumes and it made me miss Saskie. Thanks for coming to Calgary and bringing a good time here. RIDERS 2010 Babyyyyy!
Finally the weekend is here and I can get my RIDER GREEN on. To all my fellow Saskie's welcome to Calgary...the 2nd largest city in Saskatchewan as some say. After the show today I am going to go get my costume ready and prepared for Riderville and the big game this Sunday. Here are a few things you may spot of me rocking this weekend. GO RIDERS!! dani@vibe985.com
One more sleep until I can take in all the fun of the Grey Cup festivities happening all over the city. I am looking for businesses who are supporting the Sask Roughriders?! Are you? Let me know!! I'm also looking for the best place to hang out with Rider fans this weekend (besides Riderville). I am still working on my 'costume'...and have nothing yet! Any ideas where I can find lot's of GREEN...would be mucho appreciated.
Be prepared Calgary---my people are coming to invade the city this weekend for the Grey Cup. As most know I am from Saskatchewan. A small town called Handel, SK (if you know where that is WOW). With the Roughies in the Grey Cup our city will be full of good looking, Pilsner drinking, wheat eating Rider fans. My sisters Jacquie & Erin are coming up for the weekend...but now here is the problem. What do we do? Riderville? Parties? Olympic Plaza? And what do we dress as? I'm heading to Value Village tomorrow to find some green inspiration, but if you have any ideas email me dani@vibe985.com.
So boss Chad announced challenge #7 this morning on the show!! It's called "reindeer paparazzi" Basically we have to be in these rediculous suits for an entire week. Grey Cup and everything!!! Whoever gets more paparazzi pics sent in of them win the challenge and the $10,000. So anytime you see me out or even me and Fuzzy together make sure you have your cell cam ready and email em to teammarc@vibe985.com I need your help!! I'll be at Walmart in Westbrook today around 4, the flames game on Weds for sure, and everywhere grey cup weekend!!
Yesterday we had our Doggy Doctor Brad Pattison on the show. Everytime we have Brad on we get ton's of emails, calls, and texts from you guys about your doggy issues. Make sure to check out Brad's website and get the help you and your pooch need. Also...check out his line of dog collars that support the Painted Dog Conservation Centre in Zimbabwe. Brad loves saving animals all over the world, so you and your dog can help out by buying one of these collars.
We helped this family awhile ago for What You Wish Wednesday. A heart breaking story. You can now help them too this holiday season.

Rick Black Memorial Fundraiser
Date: November 28, 2009
Location: Fox Hollow Golf Course – 999 - 32nd Avenue NE
Time: 3:00-8:00pm
Details:Please join us in honoring a truly one-of-a kind individual, gentle soul, salt of the earth kind of guy while at the same time helping his wife Denise, sons Evann and Kade as well
as their unborn child during this tragedy in their lives.
Rick was a devoted husband; he was a father, a son, a brother, a boss, a colleague and friend. Many people have been deeply touched by this tragedy and the loss of Rick has left many people at a loss for words as to why such a good person had to go so soon and unexpectedly. No one is feeling this deeper than his wife Denise and his two boys. A group of Rick and Denise’s closest friends have organized a fundraiser to help Denise, the boys, and the unborn child to have a little bit of sunshine in this dark time of their lives.
While we are all starting to get into the Christmas holiday season, spending time with family and friends our heart breaks to think that Denise will be without the love of her life this holiday season and the boys without their father. Christmas time is a time to spend with family and friends and with the economy in a downturn and general uncertainty Kelly Hesleton, Renae Warne and Michelle Benoit as well as many other friends want to help to ease some of the burden that Denise will be facing this holiday season.
The fundraiser is going to consist of some bingo games with Bhula the bingo babe, card games, 50/50 draw, silent auction, music, and much more. Any money raised during the event is going to go directly to Denise, Evann and Kade and baby.
Rick was the kind of guy who would give a complete stranger the shirt off his back if they were cold, his food if they were hungry and we want to honor his memory. Even though he is no longer with us in body, he is in spirit and his heart must be breaking to know that his family is struggling and heartbroken without him.
A special thank you to Marc Michaels, Dani Rohs, and Fuzzy of the Vibe Morning Show for their compassion shown towards this tragic story. A very special thank you to Dani Rohs for everything…thanks Dani.
Please feel free to join us at this event even if you didn’t know Rick but feel touched by this tragedy. If you have any questions or want to make a donation please email michellel@telus.net, foldinbone@shaw.ca, or froggydoggy@shaw.ca.
Attention LADIES!! I need your help. I don't know what is wrong with me, my feet, or maybe it's the way I walk but I can NOT wear high heels. Last night I had them on for 3 hours and I could hardly walk at the end and wanted to burst out bawling...why is this?? Am I walking wrong? Wearing the wrong type?! Any tips?? They look so fancy...but not when your crawling on the ground because your feet hurt so bad. Help me. I wanna wear heels. (At least more than 2 times a year). This morning we will chat with local Calgarian Norma Bastidas who is running to cure blindness, and we aren't talking just running marathons, she is running in the Arctic, up mountains, etc. She truly is an inspiration.
On July 11, 2009, Norma became the fastest female in history to run seven of the planet's most unforgiving environments on seven separate continents in seven months. Norma run through the thick jungles of Brazil and the driest deserts in the world all in support of the blind and visually impaired.
Find out how you can help. http://www.normabastidas.com/
I LOVE SEX & THE CITY. (Still not 100% on the movies but still love the show). This is pretty cool.
HarperCollins has revealed the cover art of The Carrie Diaries, the first of Candace Bushnell's two prequels to Sex and the City. The novel - written for a young adult audience - is written from the perspective of Carrie's teen years and goes on sale April 27, 2010.
Will you buy the books? Do you think Miley Cyrus will play Carrie? Lemme know! Dani aka Carrie of Calgary
This past Saturday I got to sit down with Cory Monteith from Glee and we chatted for like a HALF hour. He was awesome!!! I even SANG TO HIM, and then realized...opps I didn't have his mic potted up...or something. Damn it! Anyway. He was fab...did you know he used to be a cab driver, wal-mart greeter, and roofer. Crazy! I am hoping that he comes back to visit very soon. For all the Gleeks out there I know you will like this. Dani Dani Rohs's blog | read more
So Boss Chad has announced Challenge #6!!! It's called Drag Queens.....Man where does this guy come up with this stuff? Men and Fuzzy will be transformed into full on drag queens this Saturday and have to perform at Club Paridiso in Inglewood. Whoever makes the best drag queen wins!!
I'm not so worried about the dressing up part, it's the performance that I think will be tough!! We have to do it in front of a sold out drag club!! We were told to stay in character and to win over the audience. I have no idea how i'm gonna do that!! I'm not the best dancer believe it or not...ahahah Oh well I'll study up all this week and hopefully take 4 in a row and beat Fuzzy in the $10,000 charity challenge!
This past weekend I was out and about doing some shopping and everywhere I went CHRISTMAS MUSIC was playing. Is it just me or isn't that wayyyyyyy too early?! I feel so sorry for the people who work in the retail stores who have to listen to that everyday. How do you do it? I think I would end up snapping on the customers. Yikes. Can we pass a law that only allows us to play Christmas music after Dec 1st?? JOY TO THE WORLD!
Freaky Friday!! Watch out for black cats and laddars. Today on the show we have our love guru Deb to talk about freaky turn ons/turn offs. I think the grossiest turn off I had on a date once was with a guy who had SUPER long finger nails. I couldn't stop starring at them. It was disturbing. Or the dude who took over 3 HOURS to get ready. Yep...he changed his shirt probably 5 times...and even put in different coloured contacts and was like which looks better. Hmm. Share your story! dani@vibe985.com
Plus if you need some love advice hit up Deb's website http://www.lovesos.ca/
This weekend FINN aka Cory Monteith from the hit show GLEE is in town for the Geminis. This weekend sometime I get to sit down and have a one on one with FINN from Glee. I'm so GLEEKED about this, but I need your help. What should I ask him? What should I wear? Should I sing to him? Should I ask him to marry me??
Wooo hoo. Dust off the board and ski's and tomorrow if you have the day off or...just call in sick and head out to Sunshine!! 34 runs will be open for you to carve up...or if you are like me fall on your butt!! For more info: http://skibanff.com/
Mmmmmmmmm. I went to Bath & Body Works last week to stock up on my lipgloss addiction and they have their new "Winter Cordials" flavs!! Mmmmmmmmm. Vanilla Cream Eggnog is SOOO good. I can't get enough. I guess they have a GINGER one too. Nothing tops a crummy Monday then good lipglosses that smell and taste like the holidays. Yummy!!
Marc vs Fuzzy $10,000 Charity Challenge #4 SO YOU THINK YOU CAN SKATE!! Marc and Fuzzy will perform a one minute figure skating routine tonight at Lake Bonavista Figure Skating Club. This morning we are going to chat with Kurt Browning, and he will give the guys some pointers!! I heart Kurt. He's a good ol' Alberta boy and is now hosting the new CBC show "Battle of the Blades". Check it out. http://www.cbc.ca/battle/kurtbrowning.php
This Sunday the Vibe 98-5 team will be heading out to COP for the 4th Annual Shiver For Liver fundraiser. You still have time to enter your team!! It's sooo much fun!! You even get to pretend your an Olympian as you go LUGING!! Sooooooooo fun. Watch out for Mastermind on the luge! He's fast.
Shiver for Liver is an annual team challenge event at Canada Olympic Park. Teams of four will test their skills in two extreme events and an exciting outdoor scavenger hunt challenge. Hungry participants will also enjoy a continental breakfast and delicious brunch as a reward for their efforts.
So earlier today we had our first figure skating practice.
I'm not gonna lie...it didn't go well for me.
It appears as if Marc has the advantage going into the challenge.
But there are a few things to remember...
In figure skating doing a routine of high difficulty can backfire if you don't execute it properly...keeping that in mind...Marc may want to simplify his routine.
It's just like in the movie Hitch...where Will Smith teaches Kevin James how to dance...keep it simple!!!
So I guess challenge #4 we'll be figure skating!!! Ahaha I've never been on figure skates. Not sure if i'll be able to control those pick things on the front or not. I still think I may have a slight advantage on Fuzzy though. We did speed skating last time and I beat him fairly easily! Here's what I'll probably look like out there...
Boss Chad announced Challenge #4 this morning. It's the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN SKATE challenge. The boys will have 2 practices and then will perform a routine to be judged by their coach. They will be doing their figure skating practices and performance at the Lake Bonavista Skating Rink. You can come down and watch and cheer the boys on. Their main BIG performance is on Thursday at 5:45pm! Any suggestions for the guys? Email us morningshow@vibe985.com. Big thanks to their Coach CJ who is taking time to teach the boys how to figure skate. Better watch out for those picks boys!
Woooooopity Woooooo. 18 days til New Moon is in theatres. I heart me some Robert Pattinson...but I don't think I would ever buy these "Pattinson panties". Would you? Keep it locked to VIBE to win tickets to the PREMIERE OF NEW MOON!!!
Mmm. My fave time of year is back HALLOWEEN! Some homes give out the best candy (The Grubers back in the day in Handel, SK had the best treat bags)....and some have the worst. One time I got DRIED MARSHMALLOWS. For real. Here are a few other bad Halloween treats to avoid handing out.
"Treats" You Pray You Don't Get on Halloween
A Toothbrush - First of all, you may be a dentist, and that's cool and all, but not on Halloween. You've got 364 other days to give out toothbrushes, and this day isn't one of them. This goes for floss too. If i wanted floss, I wouldn't have come to your house, I would have went to CVS or something.
Trump and I are doing our first ever couples "Halloween" costume this Saturday. I can't say what it is yet...but if you want to do some couple costumes here are a few ideas.
I am having a hard time deciding what to be for Halloween...here are a few helpful ideas.
10 best Halloween costumes for 2009
(shine.yahoo.com)
1. Bizarre Department: Octomom: Where shall we start? Find yourself a long, brown wig and some serious plumping lip gloss to get the right look. As for the eight babies in tow, this is where you might have to get a little creative. Perhaps a stop in the baby aisle of your local toy store will serve your costuming needs. Gather up your brood and you're ready to go!
Tomorrow Challenge #2 in the Marc Vs Fuzzy $10,000 charity challenge goes down at the women's show!! Whoever sells more calenders wins! I thought it might be a little tough to compete with Fuzzy and his Fuzzy animal calender so I stepped it up a notch!!
Anybody who buys one of MY calenders tomorrow at the woman's show will be entered to win and exclusive meet and greet for you and 3 friends with the Bachelors Kyptin, Michael, Jesse, and Reid at Osteria de Medici in Kensington!! This is the only way to get in. For every calender you buy you'll get one entry into the draw. I'll make the draw live at the Women's Show tomorrow before 5!! For all you Bachelor fans out there this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Make sure you come down and buy your MARC calender for only 5 bucks!!!
How cool is this?! The National Film Board of Canada is following our money group we started a couple of months ago and are going to do mini webisodes on us each month. The first one is up! Check it out. Forward it on to your friends too!! If you have any great money saving tips email me. dani@vibe985.com (I do have a face for radio after seeing myself on tv hehee).
And that is why with your help...I hope to sell more calendars than Marc.
Saturday afternoon from 1 till 5...Marc and I will be selling our calendars for $5 each at the Calgary Woman's Show...with proceeds going to the Vibe Kids Fund.
A big thank you to Lindsay and everyone at the Calgary Humane Society...everyday you help so many animals in need of homes.
Was I hiding under a rock?! I LOVE the TV show GLEE...and found out that the main dude "Finn" was born right here in Calgary. How cool. He then grew up in Victoria, but still...very awesome. I think he does such an awesome job on the show...and is soooo cute to boot! At first I felt odd for having a crush on him since he plays a highschool kid, but in 'real' life he is 27. So that's A-OK!! Mmm. Finn. I mean Corey. I heart him. And Glee.
Alright challenge #2 has been announced!!! It's called "calender boys." Me and Fuzzy each have to make a calender and whoever sells out the fastest, or sells the most at the Womans Show this weekend wins!! We had to pick our themes by today and get to our photoshoot this afternoon! I let you pick my theme and Calgary you chose men in uniform!! aahah You know me i'll do whatever, so I'm in!!
Here is a little preview for you....this is me in my army outfit
Four, count 'em, four, of the bachelors from TV series The Bachelorette, appear on the Main Stage Saturday afternoon at the Calgary Womans Show at the BMO Centre. Your chance to see Kiptyn, Reid, Jesse and Michael!! Jill Belland from Breakfast TV and I will be hosting the stage at 2:30 at the Woman's Show. I can't wait. I'm such a Reid fan, and Michael, and Kipton, and Jesse...ahah. BE listening all this week to win VIP meet and greets to hang out with the guys at Osteria de Medici!! I can't wait. Do you have a question for the sexy bachelors? Email me dani@vibe985.com.
So the guys have to each come up with their own 2010 Calender and pose in every picture, I figured I would google '#1 selling calenders"...and here is a site that can help them out.
I like the "Catnaps", "Twilight", and "Squirrels" calenders. Maybe Fuzzy and Marc could do spoofs on those?? I like this one the best. What do you think??
How would you like to work at the 2010 Olympics?!?! That would be soooo cool. Well you can a company is in town today and tomorrow to hire security.
Contemporary Security Canada will be in Calgary Monday, October 19 and Tuesday, October 20 recruiting both security screeners and supervisors for the 2010 games.
If you're interested in applying, the recruitment in Calgary is being held at the Canada/Alberta Service Centre. For all the details, you can head to http://www.hireme2010.com/.
Well after spending the weekend celebrating my victory in challenge #1, it's time to get down to business and start preparing for challenge #2...Calendar Boys.
But the big question is what should I do for my calendar.
Tonight the movie "WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE" opens up in theatres. I loveddddddd the book as a child. (Yes, for those of you who are too young...it was a book first haha). My question is...is this a kids movie? I remember as a young child I was freaked out by big hairy mascots!! Would young kids enjoy this or be scared? Should I take the mini Trumps? Aged 10, 6 and 4? Let me know! Dani@vibe985.com Maybe I will just take myself. Check out today's Style file and you can find "Where the Wild Things Are" t-shirts. Very cool!
So Marc got Dion Phaneuf and his girlfriend Elisha Cuthbert...good for him. And while they are big LOCAL celebs...they don't compare to my INTERNATIONAL CELEB.
My celebrity is recognized in all 4 corners of the world!!!
Find out who it is tonight at 7:30 when we arrive at the Dome for Jay Z!!!
WOW! The ballet is hotter than ever. Next week you can check out a performance of Romeo & Juliet...and let's just say WOW ROMEO IS HOT!! He is the hottie below. October 22-24th the ballet runs at Jubilee Auditorium. Win tickets everyday with the Vibe Morning Show! Or get your tickets now here. Hellooooo romeo! Yummy.
So Marc Vs Fuzzy $10,000 charity challenge #1 has been announced!! It's called "Star Search." Basically, whoever can get the biggest celebrity date for the Jay-Z show tonight at the dome wins!! I think I already won this one!! I have 2 dates, Our own Calgary Flames defenceman Dion Phaneuf and Hollywood Celeb Elisha Cuthbert!! I dont think Fuzzy has a hope in topping that!!! Listen tommorow morning for my victory speech!!
So Boss Chad laid out challenge #1 in the Marc VS Fuzzy $10,000 Charity Challenge Tuesday morning. Marc and I each have to chose a celebrity date to take to Jay Z...and the person who has the biggest celebrity wins.
So the question is...who's the biggest celebrity?
There are so many ways that one could go.
A local TV person like Darrell Janz or Gord Gillies...
A wrestling superstar like Bret ' The Hitman' Hart...
Mayor Dave Bronconier...
A pro athlete like Flames captain Jarome Iginla or Stamps QB Henry Burris...
Today on the Vibe Morning Show we had 11 year old Zoe who was the cutest thing ever!! She is suffering from rheumatoid arthritis and is taking part in the annual Jingle Bell Run. You can sponsor her and her family. Her goal is $1000...she's almost there. Let's make sure she hits her goal. Click here to donate.
The Jingle Bell run is November 15th at Heritage Park. To register your team click here.
Earlier this week Google maps revealed their new street level views here in Canada...and while many people are concerned about the invasion of privacy...there are a few funny stories that have come up based on the images captured.
Garfield Peart, owner of M&M Garage Door Services, was inside the garage of a home near Pearson International Airport about four months ago when he heard the voice of a child coming from the other side of the door he was installing.
So John Gosselin steals $200,000 from his joint account with Kate, and then goes on national television to try and defend himself against Nancy Grace. This kinda reminds me of the conversations between me and Boss Chad...
Oh no. It's backkkkk! Marc vs Fuzzy $10,000 Charity Challenge. Boss Chad made the big announcement yesterday on the show. Now, we need your help to come up with a series of challenges for the boys to do. In the end, whoever wins the most get's $10,000 to give to charity. Plus, Marc's raise is on the line too. He lost his raise because he was told not to date our new receptionist Chalsey in order to get the raise, then Boss Chad took the raise away because well Marc is dating her!! So Fuzzy could win Marc's raise! $10,000 CHARITY CHALLENGE plus Marc's raise is on the line. Have an idea? Email me dani@vibe985.com.
So I've been teaching my Daughter Mackenzie how to swim on the weekends!! i bought her a bathing suit that had built in floaties to get her started like a year ago. Been teaching her in that so she still stay afloat either way. Yesterday was the big test! Time to ditch that one for a "big girl Bathing suit!! Anyways first try she swam almost half the length of the entire pool all by herself!!! Was a pretty proud day, soooo glad I got it on video....Check it out!!
Wow!! Crazy story this morning about 2 guys who broke into the Calgary Zoo and then decided they wanted to pet the tigers. The one guy had his arms MAULED! They say the dudes were on something, but still...who thinks that is a good idea?! I have always joked about wanting a pet tiger but would never stick my arm in their cage and see if they would just tickle it with their nose. Dumb dumb dumb. Respect the animals people. Can I get a kitten that looks like a tiger? Hmm. Dani
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And while we here at Vibe are holding the 5th Annual Bras For A Cause...we aren't the only ones raising money and creating awareness this month.
Sunday afternoon as I was watching football...I noticed that not only the cheerleaders were wearing pink...but most of the players were wearing pink cleats, gloves, and wrist bands as well. Check out some of the pics.
This Monday Candace Bushnell the creator of Sex & The City will be in town for the The Business of Bliss conference. Tickets to the event are still avail. http://www.glindagirls.com/. Also in town for the event include Oprah regular Martha Beck, Peter Walsh from TLC, and more. There will be a fashion show, food, and great presentations.
The Flames kicked off the season with a win over the Canucks!!!! Let's head to the Red Mile baybee. I spent the evening watching the game and picking my fantasy team. There's something about getting the guys together for a couple of bevy's, pizza, and male bonding. Makes me think that ladies should do something similar with soap stars. Just a thought.
THINK PINK! It's October 1st and that means that Breast Cancer Awareness month is now underway. Vibe is proud to be part of the 5th Annual Bras For A Cause. *Get all the details on my last blog post*. Your going to see a lot of pink this month and remember every little bit you can do makes a huge difference. I found a few stats that were scary but that I wanted to share with you.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian women (excluding non-melanoma skin cancer). In 2009:
An estimated 22,700 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 5,400 will die of it.
An estimated 180 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 50 will die of it.
On average, 437 Canadian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer every week.

So last night I had a date. I went over to her house and she had made us dinner!! Very good by the way (we had Roast) aaahah anyways later on after dinner I wanted to brush my teeth but obviously didn't have my toothbrush. I saw her brush her teeth when I was walking by the bathroom and saw what color her toothbrush was. So like 5 mins later I went in and brushed my teeth with her tooth brush!! So like 10 mins later she said "oh I have an extra toothbrush if you need one." Then I told her I already used hers anyway. She didn't like that!! It was kinda akward for the first time since we met. Did I cross some personal line? I've had people use my toothbrush before and it never really crossed my mind as being gross or anything like that. Dani actually agreed with me for once, she didn't see a problem with it either. Fuzzy on the other hand thought it was disgusting and said he wouldn't even use his wifes!! I think kissing somebody with stank breath would be worse than somebody using my Toothbrush!!!! What do you think? Gross? Did I cross the line?

Yesterday my friend Semra and I went to HOT YOGA ON 17th Ave. We are both newbies. The first time I tried yoga was for Marc vs Fuzzy, and that was a LONNNNNNG time ago. We took the MOSHKA (?!) class. Well, we are still alive today and I am very sore. It was HARD but at the end of the class we felt great. I want to thank Elmira from Hot Yoga on 17th ave for taking such great care of us. Also, the instructor for realizing we were newbies and not pushing us to the breaking point!! We will be back next week. We do need to buy mats. Is there a type of yoga mat that anyone recommends?? (Beside the obvious Lulu??)
A few years ago my wife had the brilliant idea to stick silly putty to the remote...worst idea ever!!! For years we were picking pieces of silly putty out of that remote.
Now there's a company that inviting you to do the same without the same horrific results that I endured.
Why would you want to put silly putty on a remote. Simple...It sucks getting dirt, dust, and other debris stuck in keyboards and other electronics. Cyber Clean makes it easy.

Alright so we've already established that what Kanye did was one of the most ignorant moves of the year...but looking back at it a few days later lets not forget the humour of it. After all Kanye is showing up everywhere now...including our website.
Work bugging you? Boyfriend? Family prob? Money? Let it out!! I love this idea!!
A site called Vent by Phone lets you vent over the phone without being judged -- at a cost of three dollars for the first three minutes. The service keeps your identity completely anonymous, and the people on the other line aren't psychologists and they won't offer any advice.
Everyone is still talikng about Kanye's appearance on stage at Sunday's VMA's, and his appologies on Leno, and his blog. And now you too can appologize to anyone you have wronged...thanks to the Kanye West Apology Generator.

So a couple of weeks ago my wife got a 4th generation ipod nano for her birthday. She was super excited about it. It was smaller in size than her old nano, but had a bigger memory. Plus there was all sorts of new games that she could play with the shake and respond technology.
All was good...until Apple unveiled their brand new line of ipods last Wednesday. The new nano had a video camera, a pedometer, pausible FM radio, and it cost less. Needless to say she was upset that her brand new ipod which was 8 days old was now obsolete.

So Sunday was the Winners Walk of Hope for Ovarian Cancer. For the first time it has succeeded in raising over $2 million dollars for ovarian cancer awareness programs and research. Our national goal was $1.65 million (We raised $1.4 million last year).
Again, over 500 walkers in Calgary (double over last year) this year and we were still counting at @$120,000. Our previous high total was $60,000 2 years ago. Much of this money is about the raising awareness of symptoms that may save lives.
I just want to thank all of our great Vibe listeners for the donations they made to this great cause. I lost my mom to ovarian cancer 2 years ago, so this is something that is really important to me. Me, Dani, Fuzzy, my daughter Mackenzie, and my friends Meg and Tara did the 5k walk, and it was a blast!!
Here is me and Kenzie at the start!!
I spoke before the walk about my mom and it was definately one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.
The walk was a huge success!!
Here we are about half way!!
Thanks again to everybody who helped out and made it such a great day. My mom would have been proud!!
Wanna go back to class in style?? How about with your Lady Gaga pens and binder?? Yep. She has a line of her own school supplies. Wanna check them out? Click here. I do like the Gaga pens!
Today on the show Tom Arnold stopped by!! He's soooooooo funny. Wow. This weekend he has 4 shows at the Laugh Shop at the Blackfoot Inn. Soo funny. He even told Marc to stay away from Chalsey. And he called me assertive...not sure if that's good or bad!! To get tix www.thelaughshop.ca or call 403-255-6900!
Yesterday I took part in Easter Seals Drop Zone!! I repelled down the Sun Life building downtown!! It was 30 stories. It went to a great cause so I figured I better step up my costume this year!! They had a prize for best costume and I didn't win!! I couldn't believe it...you decide!!
Too gross? Me and Jeff Sticky both made it safe and sound!!
Why is it that lately I'm obsessed with vampires and fangs?? First Lady Gaga rocks fangs, then Lindsay Lohan...and now I want a pair. (I will wait for Halloween). I did find a very cool jewelery company that makes vampiresique jewels. I sooooooo want the fang ring. Anyone else?? Love it!
Growing up Monopoly was one of my favorite board games. And now the game is getting a 21st century upgrade. The folks at Hasboro have teamed up with Google to create Monopoly City Streets.
Wow! Twilight fans are crazy!! There is a corn maze in Utah that has dedicated their mazes to 2 of the stars of Twilight. You can either do the Team Jacob or Team Edward maze. I wanna do both!! Check out the pictures. Remember New Moon is out November 20th! Are you Team Jacob or Team Edward?? dani@vibe985.com
There's the Calgary Corn Maze...and then there's the Twilight inspired corn maze in Utah.
The theme of Utah's largest corn maze this year is "New Moon," the sequel in the popular Twilight saga. Although the movie doesn't arrive in theaters until Nov. 20, this 24-acre corn maze opens Sept. 24 and continues through Oct. 31.
Yes, I was suppose to do the Easter Seals Drop Zone...but I can't. I'm a baby!! I'm freaked out. The heights issue is scary. I'm not good with heights. Jeff Sticky will now be jumping in my place. He does look a bit like me. haha. Anyone know anyway to cure heights? Should I have just done it? Sometimes in elevators I get a sick feeling if it goes to high. Imagine how awful I would be rappeling 30 stories down?! Yikes!
This Sunday is the annual Winners Walk of Hope to raise money for ovarian cancer research. Marc lost his mom a few years ago to this disease, and the Vibe Morning Show is putting in a team to try and raise $5000. I just checked our goal, and we are at just over $1100 bucks. If you can donate $5 dollars or $20 every donation makes a huge difference. Just click the link below to help out!! Thanks so much. Let's prove that Calgarians are amazing!! Click here to donate. Thanks sooooo much!
YAAAAAAAA!!! Long weekend is here baby. Lot's of people I have talked to are heading for the 'final' camping weekend. If your sticking around Calgary there is ton's of stuff to do. Don't forget World Skills 2009 is on right now at Stampede Park, and it's FREE to take in. Also, the best female golfers in the world are in our city. The LPGA is happening this Sunday at Priddis Golf & Country Club. I am going to check out the action on Sunday for the finals. I'm super pumped. I love golfing!! I'm not very good, but I do enjoy it. Maybe they will recruit me for the tour?? Probably not.

A few months ago I was asked to rappel down the Sun Life Tower for Easter Seals. Being the daredevil I pretend to be I said "YES". Now, I'm FREAKING OUT!! 30 TOWERS HIGH!! I know it's for a good cause, but I am getting scared. I hope I can do it. It happens Sept 10th downtown. TO donate to Easter Seals check out the info below. Dani p.s. I still don't have a superhero idea yet! Any thoughts?? Here is Six In the City writer Kelly Doody last year! Yikes. dani@vibe985.com
There are rumors that there is a company out there developing a pole dancing doll that will features a doll in a shiny dress hanging on a pole. A giant heart emblazoned with the word "Pole Dance" is at the top and it promises "Style." "Interesting." "Music." "Flash." "Up and Down." "Go Round and Round."
Here's a new way to rub shoulders with celebrities. There's a company that builds aromatic candles from the kitchen grease of celebrity restaurants. Mario Batali provides the grease.
Mega and Marshall Dostal purify the grease, mix in the aromatic scents of olive and exotic grasses, then create candles and soaps. They sell their unique products under the name "Further". They hope to take their business "further" and collect the kitchen grease from other celebrity restaurants owned by Jennifer Lopez and Eva Longoria.
IF you could smell like a celebs kitchen grease who would you pick?? Ewwwwwww. I would go for Jamie Oliver. Or K-Fed. Mmm. KFC and Mcdonalds. Yummy!!
I know Boss Chad has the countdown to the Dancing with the Stars Season Premiere and is uber excited for the new season of stars to start (Sept 21). Boss Chad lives for Dancing with the Stars. I think he secretly wants be a ballroom dancer. Or maybe a waltz whiz??

So back in 2000 or 2001 I worked at a radio station in Toronto. One night me and my buddy Dylan were walking across the street at the corner of Bloor and Jarvis to get a burger. We saw a white BMW parked out in front of Macdonalds with two girls inside eating lunch. Dylan being the gentleman he is says "must be nice driving daddy's car." The girl driving shouted back "this is mine!' I said oh really what do you do for a living? She said I'm an actress my name is Lyndsay Lohan. I said "never heard of you." She said you will someday. She said she was in town shooting a movie. I think it was mean girls or that other one she did with Jaime lee Curtis. Anyway we both thought she was full of it. We went back up the station and googled her name and a million pics showed up!! ahahah Anyways this is what she looked like the day we met her....
This Saturday I headed out to the Calgary Corn Maze!! I didn't even know that we had one in our city. If you have young kids or are a big kid yourself, I totally recommend this place. It was great. They had a HUGE corn maze and a mini one for the kids (and me). They also had a petting zoo, mini mazes, food, rides, etc. It was great. We took 3 kids aged 10, 6, and 4 and they loved it. Make sure if you do brave the big maze to maybe come prepared and bring a backpack with lot's of water bottles and goodies to keep you going. Check it out www.calgarycornmaze.com
This weekend the weather is gonna be fantastic and I am going to take advantage of the weather and head out to the Calgary Corn Maze!! I didn't even know we had one near us. I always see the sign for the Lacombe corn maze and think...hmmm I should go sometime. They also have a petting zoo, food, games and more. This is a great way to spend the afternoon with the kids.
Also-next weekend it's the long weekend, so maybe you can take the in-laws/relatives and drop them off to get 'lost' in the maze. Hey, it's just an idea. I will make sure to take some pictures of the corn maze and post them Monday.
I am sure all the ladies agree that Jim & Pam from the TV show the Office have the best office romance going on, but usually it doesnt' end up like that. Marc was told by Boss Chad not to hit on our new receptionist Chelsea, but that of course has not stopped him. We brought in our Vibe Love Expert Debra MacLeod. She writes for Cosmo mag and has written 5 relationship/lovebooks.
http://www.donotdisturbseminars.com/. She gave Marc (and all our listeners) some great office romance tips. First and formost...make sure this isn't just a fling. Then, if you are seriuos find out if there is an office romance policy, and 3rd write a love contract. What is a love contract?
An official, signed love contract policy should solve all of your potential problems with charges of sexual harassment at the end of a romantic work relationship. Right? I wouldn't count on it, even a love contract reviewed by your employment law attorney.
So we've last night my dog was in the back yard absolutely losing her mind. I went outside to see what it was...and to my surprise there was a couple going up and down the alley pulling empies out of peoples recycling bins!!! I was shocked!!! And then I remembered hearing the story about how the City of Calgary is actually making money off of the new recycling program. I still collect my empies and take them into the bottle depot every couple of months...but there's a lot of people who put them into thier blue bins.
I don't care what anybody says...Kraft Dinner is a part of everybody's childhood!! It continues if you ever went to University, and is still with you for many years if you decide to pursue a career in radio!! Fuzzy says the smell of it makes him sick, but I still enjoy a box of good old KD every once in a while. Well check this out, I saw a commercial the other day for 4 new kinds of KD!! And not just Cheesier, or a different shape of pasta, but actual new flavours!!
This is a dream come true! You can now shower with Robert Pattinson of Twilight. Mmm. Yes, a company in Toronto is making custom made shower curtains featuring the face of Robert all over it. I went to buy one...and they are out of stock!
Last week I started feeling ill in my ear. A long time ago back in '01 I had a Q-Tip incident that has left my one ear slightly damaged. It seems about once or twice a year pressure builds up and hurts like hell. My friend told me to put hydrogen peroxide in my ear to cure the infection. Well, I tried it and it worked!! People think I'm crazy for putting it in my ear. But, if it works and I'm still ok today isn't that a sign that it's ok?? I found an article that says they started doing this in 1928...and that is a good way to clear an ear infection.
What do you think? Should I just go wait for 3 hours at the walk-in and get the doctor to check it out? Or just keep to my peroxide purge??
I hate to be the bearer of bad news...but Christmas is 4 months from today!!! I know a lot of you probably want to tell me to go fly a kite right now for saying this...but it's true. Plus you can't escape it.
A couple of weeks ago I went to Costco and was surprised to see Halloween decorations and candy out. I was in complete and utter shock when I saw the Christmas decorations right beside them.
Not only that but I'm ashamed to say that about 2 months ago I was in Walmart when I saw an Electronic Trivial Pursuit on sale for 5 dollars and I though that would make a good Christmas present...so what did I do??? Yes I bought it. I CAPTAIN PROCRASTINATOR bought a Christmas present in June!!!

I am hoping they make a follow up. They left us hanging! District 10?? Did you go check it out? Thoughts? Dani
Lately I have been obsessed with vampires...everything from Twilight to True Blood. Seems like Lady Gaga has caught "VAMP" fever too!! She was spotted rocking FANGS!! What do you think?? Hot or not??
I am a total vampire junkie! Twilight and True Blood. I am obsessed. Looks like a lot of people are obsessed with the fangers, because coming up there is a Twilight convention you can go to. Anyone wanna road trip to Jersey?? Haha! Dani dani@vibe985.com
Twilightfans can now celebrate their love of the movie series at official fan conventions. Summit Entertainment has announced that a series of Official Twilight Fan Conventions will be held in at least 20 cities across the country beginning as early as this month. The press release announced, "The weekend gatherings will feature on-stage appearances by Twilight celebrities, exclusive footage screenings, panel discussions, Twilight themed parties, musical performances, costume and trivia competitions, auctions, autographing, merchandising, and photo opportunities." PALM READING? TRY BUTT READING: Rumpology is the 'art' of reading one's future or fortunes by studying the lines, crevices, folds and other particulars found on one's bare rear end. The most high-profile proponent and practitioner of rumpology is Jackie Stallone, actor Sly's mother, who offers the allegedly "ancient" service by the modern means of PayPal; after emailing her a close-up photo of your rump and $125 she will divine your future and send you a report of her findings.
Yikes! I wonder what my rear-end says about me...probably to STOP eating so much crappy food.
So today is my employment evaluation here at Vibe. Basically I have to sit in Boss Chads office with my new Boss Ceara and they tell me what I'm doing thats good and what I need to work on. I'm not sure if I've ever done one of these before!! I'm a little nervous!! Especially when you work for boss Chad...He's a little intense. Check this out...
Last week after the Kings of Leon show my Jeep was broken into...and there was GLASS everywhere. Someone threw a rock thru the window to steal $4 bucks. Yep! That is all the took. Yesterday, I took my Jeep to Speedy Auto Glass in NW to get it fixed, and all I have to say is WOW! They did an amazing job. When we picked it up they said it was the MOST glass they had ever seen from a single WINDOW. Thank you so much guys/gals at Speedy. They did a great job. If you ever need to get a window fixed, I recommend them 100%!! Sooooooo clean. Except the pink make up stain on my floormat. haha.
I will be attending my first ever CALGARY "GREEN" Drinks tomorrow night at Vicious Circle. If you are wanting to meet others that are going green in our city, make sure to come out. All the details on tomorrow nights event are below.

So as most of you know, I'm a Big Brother geek. I don't subscribe to the live feed but I do follow a few blogs that keep track of what's going on in the house...and this weekend...OMG...MAJOR DRAMZ!!!! Now on last nights show Michelle who is the current HOH puts up Chima and Natalie, and at the end of the episode they tease the drama coming up in Tuesday's episode. Well here it is.
AGAIN DON'T READ THIS UNLESS YOU WANT THE SPOILER!!!
Last night it was Kings of Leon at the Dome...AMAZING SHOW!! Had such a good time. Until after the show...go to my Jeep...and found that the window was smashed out. Not a fun way to end the show. Blah! I was worried what they took...well they left my mastercard and passport and some wine. So they ended up taking...4 DOLLARS!! Yep. 2 twoonies. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. So mad. And feel so violated. Great way to start the weekend. If you know any good window replacers and where I can find 2 twoonies message me. dani@vibe985.com Dani Rohs's blog | read more
So a few months ago I talked about starting a VIBE Money Group with our listeners. Well, summer and SPENDING WAY TOO MUCH money seemed to get in the way of my planning, but now I am back on track and ready to tackle my mountain of DEBT. Money groups are like a support group for saving cash. Usually groups of 4-5 women, and slowly you tackle your money issues and learn how to properly save and invest. We are talking all this week to the girls of the Smart Cookies www.smartcookies.com. These are 5 friends who got together and started a money group and paid off their debt, and learned how to use their money wisely. For more info on the gals from Smart Cookies, and how money groups work check out their site. I'm hoping to get a Vibe money group up and going for the fall...so if your interested in saving cash and joining the group (YES IT IS FREE)...email me dani@vibe985.com.
Tomorrow afternoon (Thursday) between 12-1, Marc and I will be at the Dairy Queen on Centre Street just North of 16th Ave for the 7th Annual Canadian “DQ Miracle Treat Day” to help the Children’s Miracle Network. Proceeds from every Blizzard sold go ...to Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation. Last year we helped raise over $300,000 for the Alberta Children's Hospital. So buy a Blizzard tomorrow. They're calorie free for one day only!!
Fans can now celebrate Twilight mania with greeting cards, stickers and Barbie Dolls. Hallmark has launched a special Twilight line, which features stickers, posters and cards -- customized for birthdays, Valentine's Day and Halloween.
Meanwhile, People magazine announced that Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's characters have been immortalized by Barbie. Wal-mart and barbiecollector.com are getting ready to roll out the $25 dolls on November 1st -- just ahead of the release of New Moon.
WOW, Had a blast at Drenched this weekend!!! I was super pumped to do the big jump! I got there on Saturday all ready to go and they told me I wasn't allowed to do it anymore. They told me Waterski Canada cancelled it because of all the injuries that day. I guess there were 3 people sent to the hospital doing the jump beffore I got there....It did look pretty high check it out...
This Friday I will be heading to the Calgary Humane Society to host an event that I am so excited to be a part of. The "PAW-JAMA" Party. Right now the CHS has over 450 cats and kitties looking for homes. This Friday we are going to have a ton of fun, and hopefully find some cute little cats a home. There will be a "CAT-WALK"....yes cats wearing pajamas. This is an event for the whole family. It all starts at 4pm to midnight THIS FRIDAY!!
The goal of the party is to have 50 cats/kittens adopted that night! Cats over the age of seven months will be available for the special price of $80 and adopters will receive a kitty-goodie bag with every cat/kitten adoption.
A few weeks ago I bought a .99 cent bra off of eBay. It said it was "BRAND NEW" Calvin Klien bra, and I thought to myself...hmm it's only a loonie. I won't really be out that much if it's gross. On Friday the bra arrived!! I was sooo excited. It came wrapped in plastic, which was a good sign. There were no tags on it though, so that was a bad sign. It looks like it has never been worn. BUT...yes there is a BUT...it stinks. Yes, my 99 cent eBay bra has an odd smell. Like musty mothballs and old perfume. It's an odd smell. But very potent. I had the bra sitting on my desk, and had to put it away cause my desk stunk of the smell. I am hoping after I wash it tonight, the smell goes away. Do you think I should wear it?? Any tips?? Have you ever bought anything off eBay that had an 'odour'. Should I complain? So many questions! Haha. Email me what ya think. dani@vibe985.com.
Last night my friend Mackenzie and I went to the Lion King which is at the Jubilee until August 30th. I didn't know what to expect. I loved the cartoon movie as a kid and ended up LOVING this even more. It was amazing. The costumes and props were so moving and gorgeous. This is gonna sound cheesy...but it was beautiful. If you have the chance to go, I would in a second. I'm thinking about taking Trump to it. I think even if your not a fan of 'plays' you will love this!! If you saw it let me know what you thought?! dani@vibe985.com Dani Rohs's blog | read more
I love Lady Gaga! I love her quirkiness and craziness. She was on a Japenese TV show the other night and did an acoustic version of Poker Face. Her piano skills are pretty impressive. And her hair. Looks ilke she has an elephant wig on...impressive! Check it out here.
This Saturday at all Petland stores in Calgary *minus Market Mall location*, you can take your pooch to get a wash for only $5!! All proceeds will go to their Pets for Life Foundation. So if Spots and Muffin need a clean up, wait til Saturday and head to Petland for a nice wash. The Charity dog wash goes from 11am-4pm.
So the big jump is Saturday at Drenched Fest!!! I opened my mouth and said that I could probably do a waterski jump no problem, and the pros called me out!! Now I have to do it Saturday at the competition in between the bands. I did a trial run and it didn't go so well.
Here is what the actual jump is supposed to look like!! This is Jaret Llewellyn. He will be there this weekend to defend his record.
I heart lipglosses. I am an addict I will admit it. I have every flavour, colour, you name it I've tried it. Except this one. I found BACON lip gloss. Ewww. But I am intrigued. Should I try it?? Ya or na....what do ya think. Would you wanna smooch someone with bacon flavored lips?? Mmm. dani@vibe985.com
This past weekend I had a chance to attend the 'Rock The Bells' hip hop festival here in Calgary at Shaw Millenium Park. What an amazing show!!! Awesome attendance...great music...and a great venue. I was surprised to see how well Shaw Millenium Park accomodated the festival. I've seen some smaller shows there, but wasn't sure of how the park would handle a large show like this. Hopefully there will be more great shows like this at Shaw Millenium Park. A big thank you to all the organizers...and everyone who showed up. See you at Rock The Bells 2010!!!
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Holidays. Celebrate. The Vibe Morning Show is off until August 3rd for some holidays. I will be heading back to the home land of Saskatchewan for a week. So far I've packed my Riders jersey. I think that's all I need right! The Vibe Morning Show returns August 4th. Have a great week! Don't miss us too much...ok do...I'll miss you. Dani
So I opened my big mouth on the radio again and said I could probably hit the waterski jump down at Predator bay for Drenchedfest. I was more just kidding than anything, but a few of them heard me and called me on it!! So instead of possibly breaking my neck on the day of the show I decided to go down there and take a few lessons from the pros!! Me and Dani did some skiing and Fuzzy sat in the boat!!
I am a huge eBay geek. I love looking for a good deal. THere is no better feeling than finding a score on eBay. Remember the $2 Adidas vintage sneakers I got a few years ago, those rocked. Well, I think I may have another one of those 'magical' finds. Last night I won a bid on eBay for a NEW Calvin Klein bra for only .99 CENTS! Yes, 99 CENTS! (Plus shipping haha). My question is...how do I know if it's NEW or not?? The tags should be on, but someone could easily just attach a tag. And why was it only 99 cents?? Did bigaus99 jip me?? Here is the picture of the "NEW" CK bra for 99 cents. Do you think it's USED?? Ewww. Is that gross?? Can I just febreeze it?? Do I just give it away? What would you do!?!? Help!!
It was a very exciting night in the Rohs household last night. I watched the Bachelorette and put vinegar and yogurt on my sunburn. That's normal right? Yesterday, on the show we talked about different home remedies for your sunburn, and people suggested vinegar and yogurt. I tried them both and here are my very scientific findings. Vinegar, STUNG! It didn't feel good at all. Everyone said it would take the burn away, but it seemed to burn even more!! Yogurt (I had activa mmmm) felt very cooling and fresh on my arm. It was instant relief. The only downside with the yogurt was that after it dried it started to flake everywhere. Not pretty. Dr. Dani says go with the yogurt for your sunburn. It helps and if your hungry you can dip into it? Ewww. Maybe just make sure to have plenty of sunscreen on next time you venture outdoors! Enjoy! D
Ouch ouch ouch. If you were like me you were probably outside catching a few rays in the sun. Well, I hope you weren't like me...I caught too many. I wore a tank top on Saturday and put lotion on, but forgot about my shoulders...and let's just say OUCH! They are sooooooooo sore. They are burning SOOOOO BAD right now. I forgot my aloe vera gel at home, so if you know of anything else I can use on it, let me know. dani@vibe985.com. It's just the inside of my shoulders that are really bad. Thankfully it's not like this! Dani
This SUNDAY from 11-5pm in Kensington it's the annual Sun & Salsa festival!! The best part about the festival is that the weather looks SUNNY!! Make sure to get down there early. You can try over 40 different salsa's and judge which one your fave is. My goal is to try each salsa twice!! haha. Watch for the VIBE crew including the infamous Nacho Man down by the Vibe booth set up by Original Joe's. New this year at the S & S is a petting zoo and strongman competition. I wonder if Fuzzy and Marc will be in the strongman?? Enjoy your salsa eating!! Remember all proceeds go to charity.
So Wednesday night I got to take Chris and her 5 year old daughter Emma backstage to meet No Doubt!!! I have to admit Gwen did look pretty good up close but she wore waaaay to much makeup!! Anyways, she was super nice to me and our winners and the concert was unreal!!!
Ok. I admit it. I have cankles. Or as one person put it "THICK" ankles. Isn't that the same thing. Well, now they have work outs coming out to target that area. I say bring it on!!
According to Gold's Gym, "Cankles are the fastest growing aesthetic affliction" in the U.S. -- even ahead of muffin tops, back fat, and saddle bags.
A cankle occurs when the calf merges with an obese or swollen ankle, so there's no clear demarcation between the two. Millions of people are affected by cankles and millions more are "at risk."
I think this day has totally turned around!! A pair of No Doubt tix fell magically into my lap, and I am so stoked to go to the show tonight. I am a HUGE No Doubt fan. Ever since Tragic Kingdom came out, I have been in love with the band. Marc gets to go backstage and meet them. I'm soooooooo jealous. I will make sure to give you my full review tomorrow. I heart No Doubt!! Dani
I think the Stampede flu has taken over our entire office at Vibe!! Everyone is sick including Marc Michaels. I told him an old remedy of the Rohs family...eat a spoonful of Vick's Vapor Rub. He won't do it. We had people call in some wacky remedies for getting better...but I think Vicks was the best. We called Alberta Health Link to find out if it was OK to eat a bit of Vicks...the nurse sounded disgusted and scared. I had lot's of emails about people who have done this in the past. So if your not scared...try it out. But, just a tad!! Mmm. Oh, and maybe consult your doctor before doing so!! If you have a tip for sicky Marc email us morningshow@vibe985.com
So the onslaught of summer blockbusters continues with the release of Harry Potter tonight at midnight. So far I haven't seen any of the big movies this year...other than the Hangover. So I'm asking for your help. What movies do I need to see and which ones should I avoid.
- Bruno - Transformers 2 - Star Trek - Up

So Boss Chad told me that there is a known Stat that after Stampede the number of people who are sick in Calgary jumps HUGE!!! At first it seemed weird to me cause I made it for the last 14 days no problem then BAM Sunday night I felt like curling up into a little ball...
I guess it makes sense when you really think about it, how long can your body take no sleep and deep fried everything as a diet? Mine I guess...14 days....ahahaha
Anyways we took some home remedies on the show that Im gonna try out and see what happens. Wish me luck!!
9 Tips to Treat Colds and Flu the 'Natural' Way
With no cure in sight for the cold or the flu, current treatments can at best bring symptom relief or shorten the duration of those symptoms. You can take one of a variety of medications that may help relieve your symptoms. Or you can take the natural approach. WebMD went to Charles B. Inlander, president of The People's Medical Society, for some home remedies that may help you feel better along the way.
10 days of craziness is over...until next year. Stampede wrapped up yesterday and it was quite a year!! Attendance was only down 40,000 people which is not that bad considering the 'recession' and the crappy weather we had. I got to check out the finals at the rodeo yesterday, it was great! The one thing I didn't get to do was try the deep-fried jelly beans. Next year they better be back!! Hats off to a great 2009 Stampede and to bigger and greasier food to come next year!!
Yeeeeeeee haw!! We are going to be on the Coke Stage hosting Highschool Musical at 11:30 and 3:30. Fuzzy looks a lot like Zac Efron. I'm excited for FRESH CUT FRIES mmmmmmmm. Hope we see ya down on the grounds. Here is a rundown of what's going on today.

Still lots of music to see all over the city!! If you haven't checked any out yet or have sat in the bars the whole time, go and check out some of the live entertainment!!! There are artists from everywhere playing all over our city.

So Stampede kicks off this week!!! I've been waiting for this since I moved here!! I think Fuzzy is a little worried that i'm not going to show up for work, or get a little out of hand...I think I'll be OK. I'll try to make it home any night during the week before 11. That will be my personal rule for Stampede!! Think I can do it? We'll see I guess...I told Fuzzy that and he burst out laughing. He has no faith!! I seem to remember somebody not showing up for work after the Nickleback show!!! FuUuuUZZZZyyY!!!
Anyways I'm gonna head down to Lammles tommorow to get suited up. Not sure how crazy I'm gonna get in the dressing up part, but I gotta take part right? Probably look something like this...Here's me and my horsey....
Ahhhhhhh summer! Finally it feels like summer. Yesterday I got a little sun, but just on my arms. I looked at my white pasty legs and figured I could go for a little colour...well that was a bad idea! I bought some Victoria's Secret "spray" tan and decided to give my legs a little colour. Ummm. The first coat turned out OK, there were a few white patches which I then decided to add MORE spray too. Well, after the spray turned into the colour I realized I still had a lot of white patches...and WHITE KNEES! So my legs are ORANGY/BROWN and my knees are white. Not a very sexy look for summer. I will be the one wearing jeans all week until it goes away. If you know any good 'fake tan lotions or sprays' that are FOOL proof let me know. I look like this! Thankfully I didn't put it on my face!
So today on the show we were talking about my underwear. Dani said they may be a little childish!! You know the ones, the Joe Boxers with the smiley faces? No? Hers a pic...
Most of the people who called in said they were ok, cause it shows I don't take things too seriously and have a sense of humor!! I agree!! Who cares? Some people said they weren't sext though and would be a deal breaker. You be the judge here is a pic of me in them...
My friend Kevin is riding 600km on his bike to raise money for breast cancer! WOW! My legs would be like jello. Check out his bio and more details on where the money will be going. Remember everything from $1 to $5 makes a HUGE difference. Thanks for checking it out!
D
In 2005, to show support for one of their colleagues who had been diagnosed with breast cancer, six people from Novartis Pharmaceuticals set out on their bicycles and rode from the CN Tower in Toronto to Novartis Head Office in Montreal. They completed the 600km ride in 4 days and raised $25,000 in support of breast cancer research. This has now turned into an annual event which saw 35 employees make the journey last year raising over $111,000.
Oprah is getting ready to turn 55...and she is celebrating by taking all 1700...YEP 1700 employees who work for her on a Mediterranean cruise. The cost is $5400 for EACH PERSON. So 1700 times $5400...is over 9 MILLION DOLLARS!! Wowzers. When does Boss Chad and Ceara have their bdays?? Hmm. I wonder what they will give us?? HIRE ME OPRAH!! haha. Dani

This weekend there was really nothing on TV...so I decided to watch True Blood on Shaw on Demand. I heard people talk about it so I figured I should check it out. Well, I did that and MORE! I watched 10 EPISODES in ONE WEEKEND. Yep. I'm hooked. It's an awesome show. It's a vampire show but it's much darker than Twilight (and probably R rated). I can't wait to finish the rest of the season. If you have Shaw On Demand check it out because it's FREE right now! I just don't know if I like Sam or Bill better?! haha. I think Bill. HE's a nice vampire. If you need some good TV shows to watch check it out.
Today the Vibe Morning Show will be holding a live auction for this amazing Dream Dollhouse (picture attached) donated by Shane Homes with all the proceeds going to the VIBE 98-5 Kids Fund. The Dream Dollhouse was designed and built by students from Ernest Manning High School and Sir William Van Horne High School.
The Dream Dollhouse is a playhouse sized version of a dollhouse at 12' length x 7'5 width x 7' tall. This playhouse must be seen to be fully appreciated with French doors, cedar shake exterior with pink trim, and abundant windows with curve detailing. Inside there is plenty of room for playing with a vaulted ceiling. A skylight and multitude of windows allow in plenty of natural light.

Will Ferrell has released a line of suntan lotions, the proceeds from which will go towards scholarships for cancer survivors. The WILLPOWERED lotions each feature the comic in various stages of undress. Ferrell blogged about the new venture, writing, "I'm proud to be associated with a great charity, Cancer for College. Since 1993, my good friend Craig Pollard, who is a two-time cancer survivor, and Cancer for College, have helped hundreds of cancer survivors realize their dreams of a college education." They are available for purchase at:

You can only get 6 questions wrong out of 30...and it came down to the last one...and I got it wrong. I need to pass my learners by THURSDAY...because that is when I have my real test. I think this time I better study!! D
So last night there was absolutely nothing on TV. It's that time of year when all of the normal shows have wrapped up thier normal line-ups and dish out the crap that is summer TV.
That being said this summer offers some SUPER TRASHY SHOWS!!! Including 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here'.
Oh well it's just over a month til Big Brother starts in July.
Maybe I'll pull some more dandelions from my lawn.
Today on the show we gave away our first trip to SanFrancisco!!! We are going to be giving away a different trip every single morning for the next 2 weeks!!!! We're gonna change up the times though, so make sure you're paying attention!!!
Tommorow's time is 8:20!!! Be listening to find out how to win...It could be anything...Phones, Texts, Twitter, Facebook, or email!!!
Just to get you in the mood here is a picture of my family in San Fran...
Zoom zoom!! I've got the motorcycle itch. This past weekend I took my motorcycle training at Fast Trac Training at Race City Speedway. Wow, it was soooo fun!! I was AWFUL at first, stalling and hitting the wrong gears, but after 2 full days on the bike I DID IT!! I gotta thank Martin, Janet, and Justin for helping me learn and being patient because I was baddddd. Yesterday we got to take actual STREET bikes out on the road intraofficeC!! I was scared at first, but then it felt so good. I totally get the rush and why people buy motorcycles.
Today is Day #7 of my budget. I have $100 dollars to last until next Friday. So far soooo good. Today I was reading about a Shopaholic test you can take to find out how bad of a shopper you are....well let's just say it's a good thing I'm taking control of my shopping. So try the test here and see how you score. My score was 38!! YIKES!! IF you want info on my new "Vibe Money Group" email me dani@vibe985.com.
Compulsive shopping can leave a person in a delicate situation. Psychologists have developed a simple test to determine if you may be a "shopaholic". Probably 1-in-20 Americans fit the description. Men are just as likely as women. The test asks you to rate the following, based on a sliding scale of 1-to-7. Where one is never and seven is often.
My closet has unopened shopping bags in it
Much of my life centers around buying things
I buy things I don't need
I buy things I did not plan to buy
Others might consider me a "shopaholic"
I consider myself an impulse purchaser
If you earn a score higher than 25, you're probably a "Shopaholic". Or an even faster "Shopaholic" test is to check the balance on your credit card bill.
Everyone is talking about the scandel with Jon & Kate Plus 8, looks like Jon's cheating on Kate...Kate's cheating on Jon...but I think the real question is. KATE'S HAIR!! Everyone is talking about it, calling it the backwards 'mullet'. It seems every mom is heading to the salon to get the "Kate Gosselin". It's the 2009 "Rachel". Think you need the "KATE"??! Check out other celebs that may wanna consider "The Kate". Thoughts? Dani@vibe985.com
A couple of weeks ago I won the Marc Vs Fuzzy $10,000 charity challenge! The best part of the entire contest is that I get to choose which charity I give my donation to.
I have chosen Ovarian Cancer Canada. My mom passed away at the age of 51 of Ovarian cancer 2 years ago. She was diagnosed, treated, and told it was all gone only to find out years later that it had come back and was too far to cure. I was angry, sad, heartbroken and still am today.
One of the things looking back that could have changed things was the screening process. The information that was available to both patients and doctors looking at warning signs and diagnosing ovarian cancer needs attention.
Through Ovarian Cancer Canada they have cancer survivors actually go into hospitals and teach doctors on symptoms they may have experienced that aren't in any medical books. They also help women who are suffering through this disease get the counselling and attention outside of hospital treatments they really need and deserve.
They have a tiny one room office here in Calgary with one person named Michelle Pilon working hard to get awareness across Canada. If you or somebody you know has been affected by this awful disease feel free to contact her and see how you can help!
So as you all know a few weeks ago we wrapped up the Marc VS Fuzzy $10,000 Charity Challenge...and Marc won. Well after a couple of weeks of research Marc chose his charity. $10,000 is going to help Ovarian Cancer Canada...which is close to Marc's heart because he lost his mother a few years ago to ovarian cancer.
Day 5-Money Budget Saving Financial Crunch Time (Need to think of a better name) haha.
Today is my birthday!! Yaa hooo. Usually on my bday, I like to reward myself with maybe some new jeans, shoes, or a fancy new shirt...not this year!!
As you may know I'm on a tight budget trying to pay off my debt. I am living on CASH ONLY!! I have given myself $200 a week...to pay for groceries, gas, and whatever else I need to live on. This is my first time trying this, so not sure if I will run out of cash $$$ before the next pay day!! I didn't spend a penny yesterday, so I still have $115 left out of the 200, but this weekend have to drive to the Southeast EVERY day 2 times...so it will be $$.
This past weekend a 48 yr old man in Massachusetts was pulled over for swerving all over the road. When the cop approached the car he saw that the driver was eaing a bowl of cereal and milk...COME ON!!! REALLY!!!
Sure everyone is busy and some times you have to multitask...but a BOWL OF CEREAL w/ MILK?!?
Next time atleast leave the milk in a travel mug...and eat your cereal dry.
It's just a reminder to pay attention to the ROAD when you're driving...because the IDIOT in the car next to you may be eating his cereal.
Hey tommorow is the big day!! I get to Donate my $10,000 winnings from the Marc vs Fuzzy $10,000 Charity Challenge. Tune in tommorow morning to find out where the money is going just after 8 o'clock. I've spent 2 weeks looking into numerous charities and have found a really great one that has a special meaning for me and affects millions of people everyday. I can't wait!!
I will admit this. Deep breath. I AM NOT GOOD WITH MONEY. It's true...I am good at SPENDING money, but not good at saving. It's one HUGE HUGE problem I have. And of course we deal with money everyday of our life. I don't get the garble, the fiance talks, I freak out when I think of bills, taxes, credit card debt, etcetera.
Well, that is going to CHANGE. I have made a decision to STOP OVER SPENDING and start SAVING!! I have bought a bunch of money books that I'm reading. I am taking the best tips (the ones I at least understand haha and can use in my life). I want you to try saving too. It's hard and it's gonna suck somedays, but think of what we could get in return!! Maybe save up for a fancy trip, downpayment on a condo, new car, or just to retire.
So Friday morning we were talking about the Best in Calgary. Whether it was foods, places, or public bathrooms you all had your opinions. Here were some of the more popular ones.
Public Bathrooms: - Flames Central
- Cactus Club in the N.E.
- plus an honorable mention to the ladies bathroom attendant at The Whiskey
Restaurants: - The Lazy Loaf & Kettle in Parkdale (Best Sandwich) - Peters Drive In - Kings Restaurant (Wor Won Ton Soup) - Globefish
Ok. For all the singles out there, you have sites like plentyoffish.com, eharmony, lavalife...and now a new one to put your profile on. It's called "www.basisnote.com". It's all about matching YOUR BODY ODOUR to another person!! Weird!??! Read on....
Scientific evidence is conclusive that if the opposite sex likes your stink, you are golden. The term is major histocompatibility complexes (MHC).
"The basisnote scent tests serve to determine your individual scent profile by means of your scent preferences or your genes. In situations where the nose cannot smell anything - e.g. in the search for a partner via Internet - the tests replace the human sense of smell and make it possible to match individual scents," the dating site says.
This June I get to take 10 lucky VIBE winners to San Francisco for the "Golden Getaway"!! Well after months of waiting...the time has finally come!!!
The City of Calgary will pick up my recycling this week!!!! Which is a good thing because I was running out of room.
I made my last trip to the recycling bins just after Christmas and have been hoarding my recycling since then. The basement..the shed..the back closet...where ever I could find space I would stash boxes, cans, and bottles in preparation for this week.
We received our Blue Cart a few weeks ago...and it's already filled to the top. I've even had to start stashing stuff till next weeks pick up.
It's wedding season!! And if your getting hitched and have a 'groomzilla' on your hands check this site out!
CHECK IT OUT: GroomGroove.com, a site for men that tackles such wedding-related topics as knowing if you're ready to get married, how to pop the question, what are the bridegroom's and best man's duties, how to deliver a toast, how to plan a mild bachelor party, and how to plan a wild one.
Well over 280 thousand kilometers later and my car is on it's final legs. It's safe to say that I have driven it into the ground...that's why I spent my week off car shopping.
I did all my research and narrowed it down to 3 cars. The Toyota Corolla...the Hyundai Elantra...and the Nissan Sentra. Three affordable, economical and reliable rides...let's be honest anything is more reliable than my current car :( Every morning I drive to work I cross my fingers and hope for the best.
Anyway...I went to Country Hills Toyota, Crowfoot Hyundai, and Fish Creek Nissan...incredible service at all 3 dealerships...and when it was all said and done I chose the Nissan Sentra. Which is kind of funny because my first car was a 1986 Nissan Sentra.
After 2 GRUELING months of challenges, competitions, skin tight clothing, no clothing, girl guide outfits, sweat, tears!! It's Marc vs Fuzzy and it's finished!! MARC WINS!! He get's to donate $10,000 to a charity of his choice. He said he is gonna take a week or so and think it thru which is a good idea. Wow. We had a lot of fun over the 2 months. I EVEN won a challenge!! Haha. (I would prolly win them all if I was in it hehe). Watch the videos: www.vibemorningshow.com. Thanks to everyone for making this ROCK!
I am a huge fan of Bea Arthur & The Golden Girls. I miss her already. She had a great 86 years here, and she will be missed. I am excited to watch my Golden Girls DVD's!! Here are 5 ways Bea changed pop culture!! Miss you! #1 Fan Dani
Here are five ways Bea Arthur changed the way we look at the world from Jezebel.com
1.) Maude
The Tony and Emmy-winning actress worked in show business for most of her adult life, but it wasn't until she was 50 that she really made it big - in what she refers to as her "middle-aged Cinderella story" - starring in Maude (a spin-off of All in the Family) that ran from 1972 - 1978. In the title role of Maude Findlay, Arthur played an outspoken liberal feminist and civil rights activist, and the show was far ahead of its time, addressing topics of menopause, alcoholism, plastic surgery, and most notably, abortion.
Welcome to Meredith and Derek's Official Wedding Website! I know, I know. I secretly never thought it would happen either. But it's real. There's a ring (I've seen it, though I'm pretty sure Mer still isn't wearing it.) There are dresses (a lot of dresses, actually. I've called every bridal shop in town. Mer put me in charge, I think cause she feels bad that I'm all cancery or something - but who cares. I get to plan the wedding. LOVING IT!) There's a bride (who will look glorious DESPITE her dreary, dark cloud of wedding hatred) and there's a groom (who, thank goodness, won't be sporting his Grizzly Adams beard to the ceremony!) So - the only thing left now is to fill you, the guests, in on the details. Over which I have absolute power, which means... This is going to be the most magical, romantic, breath-taking wedding you've ever seen. I promise. Love, Isobel Stevens Wedding Planner Extraordinaire P.S. Just wait until Mer finds out that I'm creating this website...
So Challenge #8 goes down on Wednesday!! It's the last challenge and I can win the whole thing!! We have to do a few lucky ladies hair and makeup. Aahah this is gonna be a tough one. I have no idea how to cut somebodies hair or put makeup on. My GF Loni is a hair dresser though so I'm gonna get a quick rundown on how to cut hair so i'll be prepared!! She wears makeup all the time too so I'm sure she can help me with that too. I'm pretty sure my woman is gonna be beautiful when i'm done. It will be the best makeover she has ever had. Probably something like this...
This Wednesday Marc & Fuzzy will both be CUTTING/STYLING and applying make up to 2 WILLING ladies!! CRAZY!! It goes down this Wednesday at Influence Salon on 17th. No worries, we will make sure Wendy and her crew are CAREFULLY keeping their eyes and scissors on the boys. Would you let them cut your hair?? I think it would turn out something like this!! These 2 brave souls will be picked tomorrow. So you still have to time to send us a picture for the Vibe 98-5 Extreme Makeover.

There is the online Bunny name generator. http://www.quizopolis.com/easter_bunny_name.php
So Boss Chad announced Challenge #6 in the Marc Vs Fuzzy $10,000 Charity Challenge this morning...Who can wear the bunny suit the longest!!! I have to admit it was kinda funny for about a half hour or so, but the novelty is wearing off at lightning speed. I feel like there is constantly fur in my eyes, mouth, and up my nose and Im shedding all over my car and house. On top of all of that I look pretty rediculous...see for yourself.
Boss Chad announced Challenge #6 today. VIBE 98-5 Easter Bunnies. They each were given a easter bunny costume and the person who can stay in it the longest will win the challenge. Christmas was 3 months ago. Do you still have unused "gift cards"? You can turn those into cash -- right now. There's several websites to help you with the process. You won't get the full face value on the card. But it's free money, right? Most places will give you as much as 70-cents on the dollar. Let's face facts: It can only mean you're unlikely to use the gift card if you haven't touched it in the 3 months since Christmas. Otherwise, use the card now. While you hold onto your own cash.
So here I am in my Girl Guide outfit...hopefull this will make you want to buy cookies this Saturday...rather than toss your cookies. Don't forget...I'll be at the Walmart on 130th Avenue just off of Deerfoot in the South...and for every box of cookies you buy, you'll get a coupon for 7 days at World Health Club.
So Today Boss Chad told us challenge #5 in the Marc VS Fuzzy $10,000 charity challenge is selling Girl Guide cookies!! I will be in my community at the Westbrook Wal-Mart and Fuzzy will be in Cranston. It goes down this Saturday from 1 till 4!!
Now I know Fuzzy has the advantage on this one because he is so well known in the community but I think I can take him with some really hard work!!! I am going to study my guide, talk to the people in my community and call on all different groups of Girl Guides from Sparks to Pathfinders for help!!
I'm going shopping for my outfit today and will have a pic up by tomorrow morning. Any current or former Girl Guides I'd love to hear some tips so I can get the jump on Fuzzy!!!
More specifically Girl Guide cookies...and this weekend Marc & I will be selling these delicious trans-fat free treats this Saturday from 1 til 4. I'll be at the Walmart on 130th Ave down in the south...so come down and be one of the first in the city to get your box of Girl Guide cookies. And as an added bonus I have 1 week memberships to World Health Club to give away with every box of cookies. A big thanks to my sponsor World Health Club...SEE YA SATURDAY!!!!
Today if you wanna score a great flick at your video store, you gotta rent Quantum Of Solace. Mmm. Daniel Craig is back as Bond. Personally, I think Daniel does a great job as Bond! And hey if you don't care for action movies you at least have some good eye candy! Enjoy!
WOO!!! Spring is here. You know what that means. PUDDLES!! That is my fave thing about spring. Puddles. As a kid I would find the biggest puddles (or sloughs in Saskie) and put on the rubber boots and go out for the day. Good times. Until your boot got stuck in the mud and you showed up to the house muddy and soaking wet with a missing boot. HA! Enjoy spring!
Challenge # 3 Pole-A-Palooza happens this Wenesday night at the Back Alley, and this past Saturday we had our one and only pole dancing lesson...and I might be in trouble. Marc is disturbingly good on the pole. That being said I need to find a way to make the pole work for me...because let's be honnest I won't be hanging upside down or anything like that. But I do have a couple of ideas in mind. So look out Marc...it's game time...and the CLAWS are about to come out.
Tomorrow is St. Patty's Day and the City of Calgary wants you to go GREEN! Check out this great idea!
Carpool.ca and The City of Calgary show appreciation to carpoolers for Going Green this St. Patrick's Day
On March 16 and 17 Carpool.ca and City staff will be on site at two downtown Calgary parkades to show appreciation for carpooling commuters for ‘Going Green': Centennial Parkade (620 - 9th Ave SW) from 7 a.m.- 8:30 a.m. on March 16 City Centre Parkade (221 - 9th Ave SW) from 7 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. on March 17 Carpoolers at these sites will receive coupons for free coffee, a newspaper as well as promotional items. The carpool appreciation program reminds Calgarians of the benefits of the Calgary Parking Authority's 2007 Carpool Parking Policy designating that 50 per cent of all new monthly contracts be allocated to vehicles with two or more occupants. This allows people who carpool to move to the top of CPA parking waiting lists.
St. Patrick's Day is the perfect time to consider greener choices for getting around Calgary. Alternative travel choices reduce greenhouse gas emissions, save money, and reduce congestion on the roadways.
"We encourage commuters to consider a long-term strategy rather than a short-term plan that fluctuates with fuel prices. Don't be lulled into a false sense of security by the current dip in the cost of fuel. Continuing to carpool and use transportation alternatives saves money on your commute and stretches your budget regardless of today's gas price," said Anne Marie Thornton, Carpool.ca director.
A partnership between The City of Calgary and Carpool.ca, now in its seventh year, has been encouraging Calgarians to take advantage of the free service at www.carpool.ca <http://www.carpool.ca/> . The program has recently been expanded to accommodate commuters travelling outside of Calgary. Those travelling to outlying communities such as Airdrie, Cochrane, Strathmore, Chestermere, High River, Okotoks, and others, can now use Carpool.ca to identify potential carpool partners.
To date over 10,000 Calgarians have participated in Calgary's carpool program. Commuters seeking to share the ride to work simply log on to www.carpool.ca <http://www.carpool.ca/> and input commuting information. The system instantly generates match lists of neighbours and co-workers who are also seeking to share the ride. Some carpool once a week, others carpool every day - it's completely up to the individual. The website is secure, user-friendly and free!
This Wednesday it's Challenge #3 "Pole-a-palooza" for Shire Investments.
Marc vs Fuzzy...pole dance routine competition.
Where: The Back Alley When: March 18th Time: 9pm Who: You and all your girlfriends.
I have seen Fuzzy bust a move once or twice in the Vibe studio but never Marc. It's gonna be interesting. They go for their first lesson this weekend with Pole Junkies. Yikes! Should be fun. This will be them!
Ok so boss Chad told us this morning that Challenge #3 will be Pole Dancing!!! We have to do this in front of a live audience at the Back Alley on Wednesday. I have to say I'm a little worried about this one. I am an absolutely horrible dancer. On the other hand I've been working out so I might surprise myself!! Either way it should be pretty funny. Feel free to message me some song ideas or tips on how to win this one!!!
This is what I'll probably look like at the Back Alley after a few more days at the gym...
I have a new fave photographer and her name is Jillian Propps. Jillian is interning with the Calgary Sun right now, and has been showing up at some VIBE events taking some amazing pictures. She has been to both Marc vs Fuzzy Challenges (Speed skating and coffin) and took some wicked shots. To check out her work: jillianpropp.com photoblog.com/jillianpropp
Remember when you used to make mixed tapes? They've since been replaced by MP3 players and playlists...but one company is working on bringing them back. Click Here
The Calgary Police is warning you about a sex offender who has been released into our city. 24 year old Sandeep Dhadwal is out after serving a 5 year federal sentecnce for 2 counts of sexual assualt. Police are warning the public that he has a history of violently sexually assaulting women and that is increased when he is intoxicated by booze or drugs. Here is his photo. Be safe.
On Wednesday morning at 8am sharp Marc & Fuzzy will be locked in coffins for challenge #2 in Marc vs Fuzzy $10,000 Charity Challenge!! It's called "COFFIN CLAUSTRAPHOBIA"!!!!!
The thought of being locked in a coffin already makes me freak out. I would FOR SURE have a panic/anxiety attack. Plus, Boss Chad said NO MUSIC, NO FOOD, NO BATHROOM BREAKS!! Yikes. Who do you think will last the longest?? I am thinking this game is all mind over matter. Tune in Wednesday AM at 8am to hear the boys get locked up.
This past weekend the 2009 Tim Hortons Brier kicked off in our city. Over 14,000 fans were at the dome for the first day. I was lucky enough to be part of the gala supper on Friday. Our radio company Astral Media is sponsoring Team PEI. It was a blast! If your not a curler or think it's boring, I think you should buy a ticket...head to the dome...watch the crazy fans, then go to the Brier Patch. So much fun!!
Here's a picture of me rocking the Team PEI coat! (Go Saskie...sorry can't bail out on my home and native land!!). Dani Rohs's blog | read more
So this weekend at noon, me and Fuzzy will be speed skating at the Olympic oval!! Winner takes all in challenge #1!! So anyways it seems people are talking more about our outfits than anything. For aerodynamic purposes we will be wearing actual skin suits that they wear in the Olympics...I think Fuzzy is a little worried....Not Me!!! I'm gonna make that suit look like it was chiseled from stone!!! Here is just a little taste....
Yes, it's true. I have never had a massage. Shocking isn't?! Ok, maybe not that shocking. Lately my back has been giving me all sorts of grief so my friend recommended I try a shiatsu massage. What is it? I didn't know either. Here is the definition from the website.
Shiatsu (literally meaning ‘finger pressure') is a traditional Japanese massage therapy, beneficial for all aspects of well-being. Developed over hundreds of years to balance mind and body it can be both re-vitalising and deeply relaxing. It is different from other forms of massage in that it is practiced through clothing and uses a combination of massage, physiotherapy and acupressure techniques for the stimulation of blood and energy flow. Regular sessions can help prevent the build up of stress and tension patterns from the body thereby reducing the probability of illness and injury.
It's back!!!!!!!!!! The Marc vs Fuzzy $10,000 Charity Challenge. Marc and Fuzzy will be put thru various challenges and the one who wins the most get's to donate $10,000 to a charity of their choice.
Challenge #1 was announced yesterday by Boss Chad. It's the 2010 Olympic Training:Speed Skating event. It will all happen this Sunday at the Olympic Oval with the help of the Calgary Speed Skating Association.
The one thing that REALLY worries me...is the speed skating 'skin suit'. YIKES!! Fuzzy and Marc in spandex...why why why?! I don't want to see this. Do you? I wanna see them crash, but spandex?!! Why.
Britney Spears kicked off her "Circus" tour last night and she looked FAB!! She is getting some great reviews. Don't forget she will be in Edmonton on April 6th and we will be sending lucky VIBE listeners thru the ULTIMATE VIP Britney Experience. Sign up to become a VIBE VIP club member today to win! Here's a few pictures from her tour. Enjoy!! Dani Rohs's blog | read more
WOW! After a few months of watching the Bachelor...Jason picked his fiancee last night 'the love of his life he said'. Well sort of. The drama. For those of you who don't watch, last night Jason proposed to Melissa. Awww so cute. They spent Christmas together and 6 weeks of happiness after the show stopped tapping. THEN, on the After the Rose Finale last night Jason BROKE up with Melissa because he was still in love with Molly, who had her heart broken when Jason didn't propose to her. Wow. Shady!!
So the soft spoken, single dad, with the big heart looking for love after being heartbroken from DeAnna looks like a big JERK!! People and fans are outraged. I am a fan of the show, but after my new BFF Jillian was booted I really didn't care who he picked. If I was Melissa I wouldn't have given the ring back...and if I was Molly I wouldn't have taken Jason back. But that's just me. I am glad my girl Jillian didn't end up with the slimy Jason!
Yesterday my sister Jacquie and I decided to head to the Calgary Farmer's Market for the afternoon. I have never been to the one here, and WOW...was I ever missing out!! It was soooooooo great. I loved it. I loved the samples....from raspberry honey, pies, perogies, sausage, and more! Mmm. Mmm. I ended up buying pickled carrots, borscht, nuts, homemade tarts, and candy!
If you love fresh/homemade food, your going to love the farmer's market. Mmm. It's on the weekends at the Currie Barracks.
Today, Colin & Justin will join us live in the Vibe control room. We are super excited to have them back on the air.
Colin & Justin are "FAB" designers and are huge stars on HGTV, and have their own show called "Home Heist". They are in town for the Calgary Home & Garden Show this weekend at the Round Up Centre. You can catch them on stage at 3pm and 7pm Friday. And on Friday...at 7pm...MARC & Fuzzy will be on stage with Colin & Justin getting some 'designer help' and giving away free stuff from Ikea!! Hopefully you can make it down to cheer on Marc & Fuzzy...or Colin and Justin! If you do have a question for Colin & Justin you can email morningshow@vibe985.com.
I have been on bad sweater, funky hats, 70s, 80s themed pubcrawls but now there is the SNUGGIE PUB CRAWL! If you don't know what the Snuggie is first click here. I wanna go on a Snuggie pub crawl bad. First I need a Snuggie. And then people to come with me. Any takers?? Dani@vibe985.com
In response to the stunning public embrace of the warm and cuddly Snuggie, the SnuggiePubCrawl.com Team is hosting the first-ever Snuggie Pub Crawl in Washington, DC. Even though it's just a blanket with sleeves, we're sure that you'll enjoy a winter evening spent drinking with friends and the Snuggie!
This Thusday the Calgary Home & Garden show starts at the Round Up Centre. I really think you should head down Friday night...why? Because Fuzzy & Marc will be on stage with Colin & Justin from HGTV's Home Heist. Doing what? I can't say...but I will say it will be funny, and you will be able to win a ton of free stuff from Ikea.
Colin & Justin will also be live on Friday morning from the Vibe studios. If you have a question for them email morningshow@vibe985.com.
So today was my first official day as host of the Vibe Morning Show with Dani and Fuzzy!! I think it went pretty well. I wore pants like Dani told me and I was even on time...We talked Oscars and interviewed Ty Pennington.
Iv'e been working on our brand spankin new facebook page too, so check it when you have a chance..I'll put the Ty Interview up so you can hear it if you missed it this morning. Here is the Link.
So tomorrow I finally move into my new place, I'll be expecting house warmings gifts.
I think the only reason a lot of people sit thru 3 hours of boring speeches at the Oscars is to check out what everyone is wearing. At least that's what I do!! To check out the hotties...and the 'notties' click here to review last nights Oscar fashion buzz.
This morning will be Chad Martin's last day on air at Vibe 98-5. Chad has been on Vibe ever since it launched back in 2002. Chad will be dearly missed on air, but we won't have to go very far to see him. He has been promoted here to Operations Manager. He's now the Big Boss here at Vibe. He will be missed, but at least he's down the hall only. To email Chad morningshow@vibe985.com. I will miss Chad on air but he will do great in his new position.
Today Mayor Bronco stopped by the Vibe Studios and officially "White Hatted" our new host Marc Michaels. Marc is taking over for Chad who is going off air to be the big boss here at Astral in Calgary.
Mayor Bronco only gives the White Hats to special people...like the QUEEN, Rolling Stones, George Bush...and now Marc Michaels. What a lucky guy! Fuzzy and I are just waiting for ours now. Someday. Dare to dream.
This is pretty cool! Help out if you can!!
Campers Village will be hosting a Roof Top Camp Out from Feb 20-22 to raise funds and awareness for the Inn From the Cold Society. Inn from the Cold provides temporary emergency shelter for homeless families, they offer the programs and services necessary to rebuild lives and create a hopeful future for the less fortunate families of Calgary. Inn From the Cold work with families for up to two years to help them break the cycle of homelessness. But they need our help.
Campers Village staff will be spending 3 days and 2 nights camped out in the cold atop the store to help raise awareness and gather donations for this great charity.
Any donations can be sent directly to the store and will be delivered to the charity by Campers Village.
Here are some fun Valentine's Day activities to enjoy, regardless of your marital status from the college newspaper QuadNews.net
See "He's Just Not That Into You," at a theatre nearby. It's always fun to laugh at people, who lack relationship skills. Can we say, ‘self- esteem booster'?
Book a spa day for you and your girlfriends. After all, there's no better day to be pampered than Valentine's Day.
Take a mini road trip to a casino.
Cuddle up on that old Ikea futon with your roommates and plan a romantic movie marathon. Try starting with "Casablanca" or "The Notebook."'
housands of women in the city will be receiving roses in the next few days for Valentines Day. Many gals want the classic "red" roses, but what do the colours of the roses you get really mean? Find out here. I will take any! haha.
Want to Give Her Roses...Decode The Color
Red Roses
This rose's color symbolizes one thing above all else--love. For hundreds of years people have chosen one color of roses above all others to convey their most heartfelt feelings (experts believe that the red rose first became a symbol of love around 1800). When the message you want to send is "I love you", it's always red roses... there is simply no other option.
It features some of the most callorie filled meals that you will ever see. Like the Giant Breakfast Burrito. A seven pound breakfast burrito stuffed with potatoes, eggs, onions, and ham bits, lots of cheese on top and smothered in red chile.
Legs! Yes, I admit it I want Carrie Underwood's legs. WOW. I couldn't stop starring at them at the Grammy's. Anyone know how I can get them?? Should I get a little plastic surgery done like Sharon Osbourne and get a leg lift?? Would that help. My goal is to have legs like Carrie's by Feb 20th. Too soon? Hmmm. June 20th? Any good leg exercises that can get my legs like her's would be appreciated. Email me at dani@vibe985.com
Do people at your work steal your lunch?? Well this invention willl stop them. I love it. A plastic sandwich bag with 'fake' mold on it. This will deter anyone from stealing your lunch...hopefully. Ewwwwwww. Except the new guy Marc Michaels...he will eat anything. To buy them click here.
Today I officially got to meet the new host of the Vibe Morning Show Marc Michaels. So far so good! We learned a few random facts about him including:
-Hates cream corn
-Had size 12 feet at AGE 12
-Can play the bagpipes
-Grew up in Nova Scotia
-Dislikes Ben Mulroney
I think he is gonna be a great fit. For the next little while we are going to break him in Calgary style...so if you have anything you think Marc needs to do to become and official Calgarian, email me dani@vibe985.com. (I hear the Mayor is even planning a white hat ceremony for him)...Chad will be jealous.
Well it's almost Valentine's Day...so atart planning now if you haven't already.
Last year me and a friend decided to consolodate our gift buying for our wives. He was in charge of buying flowers...and it was my job to buy the chocolate covered strawberries.
We then met at grocery store where we exchanged our gifts and proceeded to buy groceries to make them same dinner. This year we plan on expand the operation...and bringing more people in to the Valentines Day Gift Buying Consortium.
Is it lazy...maybe a little...but this way our wives get nice g
Tomorrow night ladies...win a date with the Roughnecks!! I'm going to be giving 2 lucky gals and their girlfriends a chance to go on a romantic date after the game. How do you enter? Read below. Hands off! Andrew McBride is mine!!
In preparation for Valentine's Day, the Calgary Roughnecks are playing matchmaker. Two lucky female's have the opportunity to win a date with either defenceman Scott Carnegie or goaltender Pat Campbell of the Calgary Roughnecks.
The two winners will be chosen following the Roughnecks half-time show on Friday night and will be asked to bring along a girlfriend of their choice on the date, which will kick off in Dutton's Lounge. Following the players meet and greet and autograph session, the winning ladies will be whisked away in a limo, courtesy of Calgary Luxury Limousine, to the Roughnecks' after party. Flowers for the winners are graciously being donated by Yasmin's Grower Direct (located at 4041 Macleod Trail S.W.).
I have a confession to make...and i'm not overly proud of what I did. But yesterday I watched a few minutes of Oprah.
Yesterday's show was about ways to save money during these times of economic hardship. One of the stories was about a family that was having a hard time selling thier house...so they held a raffle. The family sold tickets for 100 dollars each, and ended up making $200,000 dollars more than what they were asking for the house. They then donated that $200,000 dollars to a local charity.
It's an interesting idea...and just shows that sometimes you need to think outside of the box to achieve the results you want.
E-mail surveys...do you love em?? Do you hate them? I get WAY WAY too many a day. But sometimes I don't mind doing them. So here you go. Copy paste forward. Keep the vicious survey cycle goin!! Write down the first thing that comes to your mind!
First it was myspace I got addicted to...then facebook...and now TWITTER?! Lately, I have been hearing all the celebs talk about their twitter accounts...so I figured well if Brit Brit Twitters than I need to be on Twitter too! So, last night I signed up. Only a few of my friends are currently on Twitter. (I have yet to add Brit Brit). If you are on Twitter I have a few questions to ask you. a) Why do you like it? b) Why can't I download the picture I want? c) What is the coolest part about Twitter? d) Is Twitter better than facebook?
Today our survey says question was 30% of people have no problems sharing THIS with their significant other...the answer was their toothbrush. I have ZERO problems with this. I don't know why...but I've used Trumps toothbrush, my friends, even my dad's!!! The thing is I never tell my friends or dad that I use their toothbrushes.
Today Chad & Fuzzy made me confess to my dad. I think he was a little grossed out. Why doesn't this bother me? I wonder if I found out my dad or friends were using my toothbrush if that would freak me out?? I doubt it!! Hey...at least I'm brushing my teeth still when I forget my toothbrush at home. The finger brush just doesn't cut it for me. Happy Brushing!! (With other peoples toothbrushes).
So Super Bowl Sunday is this weekend...and if you're having a few people over you may want to try the BACON EXPLOSION!!! Just a warning though...before you serve this to anyone you may want to have them sign a waiver.
The best way to describe the BACON EXPLOSION is 5,000 calories and 500 grams of fat.
To make it you need about $40 worth of bacon and Italian sausage...a smoker...and a death wish.
AARCS will be hosting our first ever Adopt-a-thon at Hound Lounge in Inglewood on Jan/31 and Feb/1. From 11-4
The idea is to showcase as many of our wonderful animals as possible and get the word out about adopting rescue animals.
AARCS is a registered, non-profit charity whose mandate is to rescue abandoned, surrendered or abused small animals from First Nations communities in Central Alberta and around Calgary

Today Krista from South Centre joined us on the phone, and talked about their Mompreneur Contest. If your a mom and have a great business idea, you have to check it out!! Good luck. http://southcentre.shopping.ca/getcharevent?id=8694&mallid=sou&month=1
Calgary's Mompreneur of the Year
Description:
Are you one of Calgary's bestMompreneurs®? Well now's the time to truly show what you've got.
This morning we had Chris from Calaway Park on the show to talk about the upcoming auditions for summer performers. The auditions are this Saturday at The Metropolitan Centre (333-4th Ave SW). Auditions start at 9:30am. For dancers who are under 18, make sure to bring a parent or guardian with you for the presentation. They are looking for dancers/performers between the ages of 17-22. Make sure to bring a resume and a recent photo. And don't wear JEANS! ha. For more info you can head to www.calawaypark.com. This would be such a cool summer job! Good luck.
This weekend thousands of excited women are heading down to the Round Up Centre for the Wedding Fair on Sunday. Everyone will be showing off their sparkly engagment rings...but soon it may be guys doing it too. They are making engagment rings for dudes. Would your guy wear one?
Jeweler H. Samuel is either attempting to broaden his target market or is just plain tired of the popular convention that dictates a woman wear an engagement ring until her wedding date; his brand new Tioro ring is meant to be worn as a men's engagement ring.
According to the Daily Mail, H. Samuel is the only jeweler in Britain to offer engagement rings exclusively for men. The Tioro ring is a titanium band with a small diamond, priced at £79.99--a far cry from the blinged-out engagement rings that don the ring fingers of well-heeled women worldwide.
Best invention ever!! I think we have all kissed someone before with bad breath...it's not fun. Now there is a gadget that can make your love life much easier!! IT's called "THE KISS-O-METER".
The Kiss-o-Meter comes to us just in times for Valentine's Day. Working similar to a breathalyzer for booze, this nifty gizmo detects if your mouth is ready for some tongue tango by sniffing out the cavern that your pretty pucker encases.
With Valentine's Day just around the corner, we're sure this is only the first of many love-related gadgets we'll be checking out, so if this is up your alley, be sure to bookmark us!
Ladies...and a few gentlemen out there can sympathize with me. SNORERS SUCK! ha. Yes, Trump can be quite the snorer but I think I may have found a cure. Sort of. There is a new t-shirt that is suppose to help snorers. Check it out. Until then...ear plugs? Other bedroom?
Snoring is annoying, but sleep apnea is frightening. The Rem-a-tee Anti-Snore shirt treats both, ensuring both the one with disturbed sleep patterns and those who sleep nearby can relax too.
The shirt looks like it has three big toilet paper rolls attached to the back, a design meant to prevent the sleeper from laying on their back, a position which has been attributed as one of the key causes of snoring.
So this past weekend I saw a TV ad for the new 2010 comemorative Olympic glasses...and it made me wonder...does anyone still have the old Calgary 88 glasses. I know my mother does...but she's a collector of knick knacks and other dust collectors...or as my dad like to call them junk. Anyway...you can check out the Vancouver 2010 glasses at www.petro-canada.ca
Achoooooooooooo! I am sooo stuffed up. Tis the season for colds. I caught a bad one, and it seems half of the staff at Vibe are sick too. Everyone is sneezing, coughing, blowing their noses...and more more are going down everyday. There is a new trend so to speak in the US. Parents are holding sick parties. This is where say, your kid has chicken pox...other parents will bring their kids over so that they catch it too. IS this odd? Does it make sense? I remember when I had the chicken pox, I was about 9 or 10...and my aunty brought our cousins over so they would catch it!! Is this normal?? I'm not a parent so I'm not sure.
Why: Raise money for the human society! (And all our furry and fuzzy friends)
What: Party for the family!
Who: You
The Calgary Humane Society are having a party from 4-8pm this Friday. There will be food from 4-7pm and line dancing lessons from 7-8. Kids can stay until 8pm. $20 will get you in and that also gets you a free Calgary Humane Society. To sign up for the party call Yvonne at 403-723-6004 or you can head to their website www.calgaryhumane.ca!
So Chad and Dani have accused me of being a half samaritan because I thought about helping someone but didn't. I was driving the Deerfoot and I saw someone on the side of the road was washing thier windshield with snow because they ran out of windshield wash. I had an extra jug in my car and would have given it to them but I really had to use the washroom and was almost home...so there was no stopping. So is it bad that I had good samar-intentions...I intended to do a good deed...but it just wasn't feasible at the time. Doed that make me a bad samaritan?
This weekend I'm heading up to Banff for my friends birthday party. We are going to ski, hit the pubs, go to the hot springs and more. I'm excited. If you see someone on their butt on Sunshine...that will be me. It's going to be so nice this weekend too. Maybe I will ski in jeans?? Grr. I hate that on the hill. haha. I was talking to Doug at SkiBanff.com and he told me about a really cool promo that is going on right now. "It's A Taste of Sunshine" It's a "wine and dine" event...very cool You get VIP parking, 1 night stay at the NEW Sunshine Mountain Lodge, A Taste of Sunshine reservations (amazing food and wine), next day skiing and multi-course tasting menu including wine pairings! So maybe book an early romantic weekend and enjoy taste of Sunshine. For more info you can call 1-87-SKIBANFF. A Taste of Sunshine runs Jan 17, Jan 31, Feb 28th, and March 14th.
So yesterday i got to check out Stomp and the new Biggie biopic 'Notorious'. Stomp was absolutely amazing...if you can see it while it's in town, definatly check it out. My favorite part was the sinks. As for the movie 'Notorious'...I'm kind of torn. Going into the theatre I had big...sorry I mean B.I.G. expectations. And while the movie was good...I just don't think it lived up to my expectations. Maybe I need to see it again. The only bad thing about the day was that I didn't get to see any TV last night...so I'm off to catch up with my PVR.
England's RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is threatening legal action against dog owners who "over-dress" their pets. Officials claim that putting on items such as boots, pants and hoodies, could be harmful to dogs and lead to prosecution for owners if they feel an animal's welfare is at risk. Canine couture is big business and the increasing trend among owners to dress their pets fashionably has even led to top fashion designers creating dog outfits.
If you are not a fan of people who dress pets then I don't reccomend checking out these sites:
Busy...but fun day today. This morning a buddy of mine and myself are going to check out the advance screening of the Notorious BIG biopic 'Notorious'. And then tonight my wife and I are going to check out 'Stomp' at the Jubilee! I'm super excited about both...the only problem is that there's a ton of TV show on tonight too like Biggest Loser, American Idol, and 90210. If only I could wrap it all up into one...it would be '9-0-torious BIG-gest Stomp Idol'...I'll have my review of all tomorrow.
Tonight it's the return of the biggest show on TV--AMERICAN IDOL. Since we don't have Cancon Idol to look forward to this year, (Canadian IDol was canceled if you didn't know)I'm actually sort of excited to see Paula, Randy, Ryan, Simon, and that new girl. Yes, there will be a few changes on American Idol tonight to watch for. Including a NEW JUDGE. All I know is that she wrote 4 songs for Paris Hilton's album. Wow!! (Also Carrie Underwood and Celine Dion). But PARIS HILTON! Hopefully that is not her claim to fame. Her name is Kara DioGuardi. I wonder what Paula thinks of this?! YIkes. Cat fights!!
It is cold and flu season, and for the next couple of weeks I am looking for your "HEALTH TIPS". How do you keep healthy during the cold and flu season?? Email me your tip to dani@vibe985.com or morningshow@vibe985.com and you can score prizes from Advil...and Calgary Pilates.
So Burger King has teamed up with the folks from Facebook to create the Whopper Sacrifice Application. For every 10 friends that you remove you get a coupon for a free Whopper. Which raises the question of which 10 friends would you dump for a hamburger? Check out www.whoppersacrifice.com
It's back...another season of hard hitting lacrosse with our Calgary Roughnecks! Tomorrow night they will heat up the Dome with their home opener against the Edmonton Rush (insert boooooos here). Game is at 7pm! The thing I like about going to the Roughnecks game, is that its affordable...fun...and Andrew McBride. ha! Yes, I have a lacrosse crush on Andrew. To get tickets to tomorrow's game www.calgaryroughnecks.com Watch for me...I will be the one with the I HEART MCBRIDE sign.
Dani + Money = AWFUL!! I am sooooooo not good with my money, so this year I'm going to actually TRY and save a bit. And everywhere you go everyone is talking about the hard times...from Oprah to Ellen!! I found this piece of info pretty interesting... keep track of the last 5 things you spent money on... the last 5 things i bought were 1-gas 2-pants 3-t-shirt off ebay 4-windshield wiper fluid 5-lipgloss
Did I really need those? #1 and 5 yes...but the others no...hmm. So I am going to try doing this a few times and see if curbs the way I spend. Will someone else buy me the things I don't need but want?? Hmm. Do you have easy money saving tips? Email dani@vibe985.com.
This weekend Vibe is at the Motorcycle Show for "SHE RIDES" night out on Friday. Ladies, we are giving away a 2009 Suzuki GZ250! Last year me and a few girls from work did the "She Rides" course where you learn to ride, it was soooooooo fun! I didn't want to get off the bike. And also couldn't remember how to STOP. But ladies if you wanna learn or are interested I highly recommend this event. So fun! Plus, cute dudes in leather...the good kind. haha.
Motorcycle show runs Jan 9-11th at the Round Up Centre.
Last night it was the premiere of the Bachelor, and like always lot's of crazy girls!! There were 2 girls representing Alberta, including Nicole from Calgary who was eliminated, and Jillian who is my FAVE and still in the running. She had an interesting theory on men...you can tell what kind of guy they are by what they PUT ON THEIR HOT DOGS!! YES!! So, Jillian says:
A ketchup guy is a good loyal guy, he calls his mom a lot.
Oh oh. I think I am becoming attached to a certain article of clothing that I can't put away. Yesterday, I decided I needed some new 'comfy pants' as I call them aka sweats. I bought a sweet pair of brown Roots sweats. As soon as I tried them on, I knew they were meant for me. I love them. I can't wait to go home and put them on...I want to wear them to work...to curling...to the pub...is that ok?! Are you attached to any item of clothing?! If you need a sweet pair of sweats I reccomend these....I have a problem don't I!!
One of my favorite shows returns to TV tonight...The Bachelor!!! It's trashy TV at it's best...and the first 2 episodes are must see TV because the producers always put a psycho or 2 in the mix just to spice it up. Like last year when the one girl got hammered on the first night and interupted a conversation to give the dude the panties she was wearing...CLASSY!!!! Once the psycho's are gone...meh...it's not as fun though.
Wow!! Can you believe it's already 2009. Where did 2008 go? IT was such a quick year.
I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Years. We went to the hockey game and then to Richmonds pub. So much fun.
I know lot's of people make New Years resolutions...are you? I have done so in the past, but by week 2 of January I break them. This year I have one I'm sticking too...it's seperating the colours when I do laundry. ha! I have always been a throw it all in the washer type of girl, and Trump is a white/colour/towel different load kind of guy. Yesterday, I turned his fave jeans PINK, by washing my new red pashmina with them!! Opps. So, I think it's time to seperate THE COLOURS. It can't be that difficult can it? Happy New Years!

Due to the economic hard times...or maybe you just spent WAY too much this holiday season, I've found a few FREE NEW YEARS PARTIES for you and your family.
Tomorrow at Olympic Plaza starting at 6pm you can head down and enjoy a free night of fun. They will have skating, street hockey, food vendors, magicians, storytellers, performers and more! The even runs til 12:30am. They will also have movies showing on the giant screen at Olympic Plaza. There will be a 'kiddies' countdown early at 9pm that comes complete with a pyrotechnics show. Just a heads up if you are traveling downtown for the event that Macleod Trail will be closed from 9am tomorrow until 6am Jan 1st.
You can also check out the Calgary Zoo's ZOO YEARS EVE. Which starts at 6pm and ends with a fireworks display at 8:30pm. Tickets are available and must be purchased in advance.
Another family-friendly event you can check out is the Calgary Zoo's annual "Zoo Year's Eve" which also starts at 6 P.M. and ends with a fire works display at 8:30.
As we get ready to head into 2009, are there things you wanna forget from the year?! We all have something, and in New York City...they want you to shred your bad memories. They want New Yorkers and tourists to Times Square on Sunday and feed them to an industrial strength shredder. What would you shred? An exboyfriend/girlfriend? Hmm. It's kind of an interesting idea! Hopefully 2009 brings you only GOOD MEMORIES!!
Ho Ho Ho!! Merry Christmas. I am soooooooo excited for Christmas, and if your like me you want to track Santa's every move to find out when he will be in Calgary. I found a few different websites you can check out. You can even GOOGLE maps Santa!! How cool is that. Even for your phone, so if your at your crazy relatives tonight and they don't have a computer...use your phone. All the info is below. Merry Christmas. And don't forget to leave some goodies for Santa tonight.
www.portablenorthpole.sympatico.msn.ca www.alicebot.org/santa www.noradsanta.org (probably the best bet)
The North American Aerospace Defense Command [NORAD] says Santa will be leaving the North Pole today. For over 50 years, they've been "tracking" Santa as he makes his Christmas Eve delivery run. With the advent of GPS, it's much easier to keep watch on exactly where he's flying. You can also see Santa's path at the special Christmas-themed NORAD website: NORAD Santa.org. It's available in several languages.
This Christmas Day if you see smoke coming from a house in Royal Oak...it could be mine! I am going to 'attempt' to cook a turkey. I have never cooked one. Any tips?? Can I microwave it? I do own a roaster, but do I need the pokey things to hold up the turkey? What size do I cook?? All these questions and only 3 days to figure it out. Any help would be great. Is McDonalds open on Christmas Day?? Hmm. I guess if things don't work I can just take the family there for dinner. Any tips email dani@vibe985.com.
I have a few girlfriends who have been dating their guys for just a couple of months and ask me...what do I get them? How much do I spend??! I have no clue!! But I did find this helpful article.
RECOMMENDED PRESENTS BASED ON DATING LENGTH (NY Post)
1- 3 Weeks: You've met for dinner and drinks a couple of times, engaged in some PDA and are starting to develop feelings. You don't want to look like Scrooge, but you don't want to look like Santa's little psycho, either. Get her a bottle of perfume, scented candles, a nice bottle of wine - gifts you may eventually enjoy if things progress. If she's into music, a $50 iTunes gift card works.
1-5 months: Can you say cashmere? Scarves, gloves, sweaters - whatever you can get your hands on. And this is the one and only time costume jewelry will be acceptable -- an Yves Saint Laurent cocktail ring will gain you major points. Want to show how selfless you can be? Buy tickets to the ballet or theater for a different night out. She (and her friends) will hold you in the highest esteem.
6-12 months: By now you've met her family, she's accepted your love handles and still said, "I love you, too." Your gift can't be opened: A trip to a bed and breakfast. The two of you can unwind after the hectic holidays. Another route is splurging on some pricey items she wouldn't normally buy for herself: a laptop, a digital camera.
1-2 years: You've been together a while, so get creative with a silk or satin peignoir (that's a bathrobe) with a sexy surprise -- a naughty book? -- in the pocket. You could warm up to that with a gift certificate for dance lessons, which you -- yes, you -- will attend. Pricey earrings or a necklace from a Saks-caliber store will work. You'll be in good the minute she sees the box.
3+ years: If you're single, you've stalled long enough -- buy the engagement ring or face the ugly consequences. If you're married, chances are she wants to get away -- from you. The pricey, sleep-away spas are swank, but most of us can spring for a day spa. Tip: With the playoffs coming up, opt for a Sunday.
Tomorrow morning we're doing something very cool to help out the Mustard Seed. They have a need for Turkeys and Toys again this Christmas so we're doing the 2nd Annual TOY-KEY Drive! Tomorrow morning (Friday) we'll be collecting turkeys and toys down at the downtown location of the Mustard Seed...and for every turkey or toy that you drop off you'll get entered to win a myriad of prizes. Up for grabs we've got CAR STARTERS, NICKLEBACK TICKETS, A NINTENDO WII...and A VIBE MORNING SHOW $1000 CHRISTMAS STOCKING!!! So bring down a turkey or a toy tomorrow morning to the Mustard Seed between 6 and 1
Ok, I love COOKING....I'm just not that great at. I have to cook a Christmas meal that is not turkey and that the young and old will like. We are having turkey on Boxing Day, so I don't want to be turkied out. Is turkied a word? That is besides the point. So any suggestions would be great. Recipes for alternatives to the 'turkey' supper would be fab! Email me dani@vibe985.com. Is mac & cheese appropriate for a Christmas day celebration?? I know I will be happy!!
So the staff here at Vibe are doing a Christmas re-gift tomorrow. Basically you bring in something from your house that you're not using anymore, that some one else may be able to use. It's a great idea and something that I've done in the past...but the problem is that I officially have no junk to get rid of this year. In the last 2 years we have moved 3 times...and everyone knows that the best time to get rid of junk is when you move. PLUS we got rid of the rest of the stuff that made the move this past summer with a garage sale. Therefore no JUNK!!! Chad says I should ask my wife and she'll

We would love to see you out this Friday morning. I have enclosed a list of food the Mustard Seed is looking for their Christmas hampers. Remember every bit makes a HUGE difference. See you Friday morning.
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I just got back from Vegas, and came home -37!! What the heck is up with that?! Yes, winter is here...and looks like it is going to stay until 2009...which really isn't too far away. Last night I enjoyed some hot chocolate and soup...which always warms me up on a cold winters night. Here are a few other tips to get you warm. I want #3...microwavable foot warmers.
1. The Micro Handy Warmer Cell Phone Strap is more phone charm than hand warmer, but it can be used if you're freezing, even though it's tiny. However, its size makes it great for children (and you can bet they'll be in awe at the way a liquid turns into a hot solid).
2. If you're going to be away, don't let your significant other or kids feel cold and lonely. The Sweet Talking Bear can record and playback a short message and warm up the night with its microwaveable interior bag.
3. Remember what mum said when you were young? Always wear socks and slippers. For many people, these is a must, and not just because they might catch a cold; for many of us, (literally) cold feet means freezing all over. A pair of Cozy Feet Microwavable Foot Warmers could solve the problem, at least for a while. If you can get used to the idea that something that was on your feet will be in the same place as food.
4. The USB Heating Slippers, on the other hand, don't raise this problem. They're perfect for the job... as long as you're stationary. They come with a system that allows them to be detached from the USB port and worn around, but clumsy people should avoid them nonetheless. Good for long computer work nights!
5. But it's not all about computers and we don't have USB ports all over the house. The Snuggie offers a low-tech and very smart heating method: the good ol' blanket, in a new shape. It could be described as a blanket with sleeves or a huge house robe, but the bottom line is the same: you'll be warm and still be able to use your hands.
6. Hand freezing on mouse is a terribly unpleasant sensation, but it's usually unavoidable in cold or drafty rooms. Unless you do something about it, that is. The first solution is an USB Heating Mousepad, which warms up the area around it like a tiny heater and defrosts your hand in the process.
7. The second gadget for the problem has a similar name, USB Warming Mouse Pad, but a very distinctive look: a blue shark that "bites" down on the mouse - hand included. It seems to heat better and it's more fun, but it can also impede movement, so it's your call which of the two seems better.
8. If you don't feel like changing your mousepad, there's still a way to keep your hands warm: USB Heating Gloves. They're fingerless, to keep typing as easy as possible, but also come with a cover for the fingers for more effective heating during breaks.
9. An USB Heated Shawl might sound like a silly idea at first, but that means you've never worked with people who like the keep the window open in winter (or you're one of them). You're at your computer anyway, so why not take advantage of it and power your heat source? It might make you look a bit like grandma, but you'll be so warm you won't care.
10. Finally, for those who stare at the screen more hours than it's comfortable: USB Eye Warmer. If for you resting your eyes involves heat, you're the perfect cadidate for this. A little rest on lunch break and you'll be ready to finish that important project without a headache.
I have to say a BIG thank you to Vibe Morning Show Doggie Doctor Brad Pattison who showed up this morning with gifts for Chad and I. Brad commissioned a local artist...Caroline Stanley...to paint pictures of Chad's bulldog Rufus and my beagle Rudy. She did a fantastic job!!! You can see pictures of her work by checking out her website...www.stanleycaroline.com. Don't forget the new season of Brad's TV show 'At The End Of My Leash' starts tomorrow (December 16th)on the Slice Network.
Yahooooooooooooooooooo! Tomorrow I fly out to Vegas for a few days of fun. The city of sin better be ready!! I know I'm ready for Wayne Newton, slots, cheap shopping, and the food. Hopefully I will come back in one piece, and with 3 new cars?! Dare to dream.
Just found out today that Pepsi is making a new product called 'Pepsi RAW'. They're marketing it as an all natural drink. No preservatives or artificial sweetners. No word on when it will hit Canada...but it raises an interesting dilema for pop drinkers out there. All Natural ingredients (including sugar) or Diet pop (no sugar). I guess water is the only true safe drink out there.
Oh no! IT happened. A good friend of mine, gave me a gift...and I had nothing for her, so I did the old...oh I forgot yours trick. This happens more than you think, it could be a family member/friend/co-worker...so I found some ways to help you out this holiday season if you get an 'unexpected' gift.
Here are some suggestions on what do if you get an unexpected gift:
Friend: You can be pretty honest with a true friend. After graciously thanking them for the present, apologize that you don't have anything for them Tell them you're sorry and that you'd love to have them (and possibly a plus one) over for a home-cooked meal of her choosing sometime soon.
Ho ho ho! Yesterday I was hanging out at the Calgary Humane Society for their 29th Annual Christmas Party for the Animals. I wanna thank everyone who braved the crappy weather and made it out. I know the animals/staff/volunteers appreciated it. I feel in love with Ginger the cutest dog, and a cat named "skittles". Thankfully, Skittles was adopted. There are many ways to help the human society out, even if you can't have a pet or you already have a full house, try being a Holiday Hero. They even have "Animal Wish Lists". You can give the gift of shelter, protection, education, comfort, hope, care and sanctuary.
The other day some freinds and I were talking about favorite Christmas movies. I was surprised when my wife said Gremlins. When I think about Gremlins...Christmas is the last thing that comes to my mind. Others said Elf, Home Alone, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas...and my personal favorite National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. So what's your favorite Christmas movie. Email me.
TOP 10 STUPID HOLIDAY GIFTS: The website Stupid.com has released its second annual list of the top 10 stupidest holiday gifts: I actually think #9 is funny!

I'm going to be hosting the annual Calgary Humane Christmas Party this Sunday.
This is a great FAMILY event...that is FREE to take in to get in the holiday spirit. And with everyone canceling Christmas parties...come to this one instead.
So this weekend me and a few friends are getting together for a small pre-christmas gathering/potluck. I'm having a hard time deciding what to bring for an appetizer...and that is where I need your help. So if you have any award winning recipes that you're willing to share...please email them to me. fuzzy@vibe985.com
I am talking CHRISTMAS TREES!! This year, Trump & I are going out to get our first Christmas tree and the debate is....REAL OR FAKE?! Like any man, he says FAKE. I say REAL all the way. I grew up with real trees (think Charlie Brown), and I love them. They way they smell and look. He's 100% set on getting a fake one. I don't know how we will meet on the middle on this one. Any ideas?? dani@vibe985.com
So this past weekend I was informed about a fantastic product called Bacon Salt...bacon flavored seasoning salt! All the bacon flavor and none of the fat. And for you hard core bacon lovers like me...they also have Baconnaise and Baconnaise Lite (Bacon flavored mayo)...and Bacon flavotred lip balm. YUMMMMM!!!Check out thier website www.baconsalt.com.
My friend Jeanette @ Vibe, sent me this email today and I think it's soooooo awesome to see people get behind the true meaning of the holidays. She is behind a new fundraiser called Calgary Street Kids Christmas Stocking Drive, and it is sooooo simple to help out.
Calgary Street Kids Christmas Stocking Drive Info:
We are collecting donations of items to put in these stockings which my brother, myself and a few volunteers will be handing out on Christmas Eve.
I know this time of year we all get inundated with requests for donations, but if you have items sitting in your closets you're no longer using anyways, why not pass them along to someone who truly could use them? Here is a list of some of the things we're looking for. Anything left over from the drive will be donated to charity. Feel free to drop off items at my desk. Much appreciated, everything helps!!
Hey! It's the most wonderful time of the year! Yes, Christmas time. This year the VIBE MORNING SHOW wants to learn about your culture and the way your family celebrates he holiday season. Do you do something unique? Share it with us. Maybe your family is from Africa, Holland, China, let us know what you do different!
The Vibe Morning Show is going to share the spirit of Calgarians and their cultures all holiday season long. Email us your tradition at morningshow@vibe985.com or dani@vibe985.com
So on yesterday's Oprah they talked about ways to save money this holiday season, and one of the ways was the '12 Dates of Christmas'. Instead of buying gifts for each other one couple went on 12 'dates' leading up to Christmas. Unlike Chad & Dani I thought it was a great idea and started compiling a list of 12 possible inexpensive dates.
- Airdrie Festival of Lights
- Heritage Park
- Build a gingerbread house
- the Telus World of Science opens the roof every Friday night for stargazing
- skating
- Build a snowman...we need snow first though
- movie night at home
- romantic diner
- Zoo Lights at the Calgary Zoo
So every single year for the last 6 years Chad, Dani and I have participated in the Mayor's Annual Christmas Food Drive. And every year Mayor Bronco and his team of Brownies win. But this year will be different. Tomorrow morning at 11:45, at the Southcentre Safeway we will take the title...HOPEFULLY! Come down too cheer us on as we help out the Food Bank.

Due to the economic recession, lot's of companies are CUTTING CHRISTMAS PARTIES!! I say, BAH-HUMBUG to that. I think Christmas parties are a time when the company says Thank You to all the employees for their hard work. It's also fun to let loose with your co-workers...and hope no one (at least you) don't get too close to the photocopier. Who doesn't like seeing the boss have one too many egg nogs and sing carols at the top of his lungs?! I know, I do!! When times are tough, it's nice for people to know they are cared for and can go enjoy the holidays with their friends and co-workers. Maybe I can ask Vibe, if we can invite everyone who doesn't have a Christmas party to go to this year, if you can all be my date??? Hmmmm!
For the last few weeks I have been saying that I want to put up my Christmas lights before it gets cold. I actually started talking about doing it back in October during Thanksgiving. Well we're now officially one month away from Christmas and my lights still aren't up. Today might have to be the day though because Mother Nature seems to be participating.
If you have a pet in your house make sure to keep a bottle of HYDROGEN PEROXIDE handy. Yesterday my dog managed to eat poison and apparently the first thing you're supposed to do if this happens is give them HYDROGEN PEROXIDE. It will make them throw up what ever they have eaten. She's fine now...but I just thought I would share that little tip with you to help keep your pets safe.

Times are tough. Money is tight, and Christmas is just around the corner. I haven't even started my shopping, and the thought of spending $$$$ doesn't sit too well with me. I have about 10 people to buy for and that starts to add up, so I found a few "Thrifty" Christmas gift ideas for you to check out. So you don't have to worry about maxing out your credit card this season. If you have any ideas email dani@vibe985.com. A few "Thrifty Ways" to celebrate the holidays!
Every day, look for ways you can give to others. Whether it's donating a can of stew to the local food bank, shoveling a neighbor's walk, or just holding the door open for someone else, you may be surprised at how good those little things can make you feel.

So this morning we had a call from a lady whose son named a baby cow after me. I'm not sure how I feel about that. Part of me is flatered...but the other side says 'Dude it's a COW'. I mean nothing against cows...but come on. Maybe something stronger like a Rhino...or smart like an Owl. If you had an animal named after you what kind of animal would you want it to be? Email me fuzzy@vibe985.com and let me know.
November 22nd, I am going back home to Saskie for my girlfriends baby shower. I am in charge. This is my first BABY SHOWER!! What do I do? I am charge of games. I know about the diaper one, and the peeling off labels...but anything else you can help me out with? Should we do a theme one like Ashlee Simpson and her Winnie the Pooh one? So this weekend my wife and I are headed to Las Vegas with 2 other couples. The 2 of us are the only Vegas virgins and are wondering what to expect. Will it be the non stop party that I'm hearing about from some people? Or will it be non stop shopping like i'm hearing from a lot of girls.
We don't really have a whole lot planned other than going to see Love...the new Beatles Cirque show.
So what else do we need to do and see when we're there.
Email me fuzzy@vibe985.com
The past few days I have been enjoying the odd energy drink to pull me through the long days. I found a new one, and maybe a new addiction!! Yikes. I am loving the Java Monster's...the new vanilla coffee drink. I can't stop. Help!! Help!! If I have more than 3 a day does that mean there is something wrong??! I am starting to shake. Need more Java Monsters in my belly. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Number one at the box office is Highschool Musical 3, and who wouldn't wanna sing along with Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens?! You can. There is a 'singalong' version coming to theatres November 7th. And best of all, it's coming to Calgary! So you can grab all your friends, and then pick characters...and sing the different parts. I want to be Vanessa Hudgens. I think Fuzzy can be Ashley Tisdale, and Chad can be Zac Efron. It will play in Calgary at Chinook!
Put the bed sheet away! Don't go as a lame ghost again this year. Even though we are only 2 days away from Halloween, you still have lot's of time to get your costume ready. I found a site that listed 10 great and EASY costumes. Good luck!! IF you have any good, quick costume ideas... email dani@vibe985.com
Well we're 2 days away from halloween...which means it's time for me to start putting my costume together.

...I 'Pity The Fool' that messes with me on halloween.
Are you looking for a real "SCARE" this Friday for Halloween?! Then you have gotta check out a very spooky house in the North West. The cool part about this, all proceeds go to the Calgary Inter-faith Food Bank. The house will have hot chocolate, goody bags, and more. Plus, there is an area for kids and adults!
222 Rocky Ridge Bay NW is a lovely house by day and something to make Norman Bates shriek in horror by night, specifically on October 31st! October 30-31st, doors open at 5pm, and close with or without you inside at 10pm. The witches, ghosts, and demons encourage you all to bring a cash or food donation to the Food Bank. It just may save you from being taken to the 'dark' side forever. Mawahahahah! Happy Halloween. For more info www.calgaryfoodbank.com
This weekend I'm going to a friends party in Medicine Hat. We are having a screening of "Rocky Horror Picture Show" and a fondue party. Mmmm. I love fondue, but she told me that I had to bring weiners to fondue. I thought she was joking, but she's not.
I thought at first EWWWWWWWWWWWW....but then listeners called in and said if you batter them...they taste like corn dogs. Who does not like corndogs? Nobody, cause everyone loves them. So I am excited to fondue weiners. Classy. And here is the recipe I am going to try. If you have other ones...email me
