Earth Day ideas!

HEY!! For the next few blogs I do I am going to let ya know what is happening in our city for Earth Day. And this Saturday (April 19th) there is a really cool event happening. Here is the low down on it!

Recycle Logic presents "Earth Day ewaste recycling & food drive"- Saturday 9a-5pm. This way your not only helping the environment but also the food bank!

 Location: Currie Barracks

Drop Off: Old TV's, computers, monitors, and printers for no extra cost!!

Bring: Donations of non perishable food items for the food bank!

Cool thing...Recycle Logic wil donate to teh Calgary Food Bank $200.00 per tonne of eWaste recieved.

So the earlier today I logged on to YouTube looking for another FuzzyTube video of the day. And to my surprise I found out that the video for Challenge #1 (Syncro or Swim) in the Chad vs. Fuzzy $10,000 Charity Challenge is the 80th most viewed video in all of Canada for the week. Pretty cool. Don't forget that by forwarding the video to your friends thought the link on our website could win you $5000. Scary...info on B-P-A!!

Yesterday, women had first learned of the potential danger of exposure to Bisphenol-A (BPA).

Now, they'd like more answers and how to avoid the harmful chemical. Even when toddlers are exposed to low levels of BPA, there can be changes in their prostate and mammary glands. Cancer may result. 

 BPA  is used in water bottles, children's toys, and on the inside of soda cans. Reducing your exposure won't be easy, but here are a few ways to avoid the risk:

 - Do not heat hard polycarbonate plastics (Nalgene bottles, baby bottles and sippy cups) or use them for warm liquids - Do not wash polycarbonate plastic containers in the dishwasher - Reduce your use of canned food. Bisphenol A (BPA) has been found in the lining of canned food tins - Look for BPA-free toys, baby bottles and food containers. They may be slightly more expensive, but parents say they're worth the additional

The Wiggles!!

If your a parent, or even have a younger kid in your life you know who the Wiggles are. They are in town tonight for 2 shows...and get ready to ROCK your socks off. We chatted with the Purple Wiggle Jeff...and he taught us how to sing their #1 hit with kids under 6 called "Hot Potato" pretty much that's the only words in the song. No wonder kids love them. They can remember the words, EVEN I can!! Hot Potatoe, Hot Potatoe. I was reading up on these dudes, and listen to this...they are from Australia and MAKE MORE MONEY THAN AC/DC and NICOLE KIDMAN COMBINED! I need to start a children's group.

I am saddened to admit this...

Tuesday is the day when new cd's/dvd's hit stores, and today a HUGE one comes out...JUNO! Now, I saw this movie and it is amazing. If you have a quirky sense of humor, you will love it. I will probably pick it up on my way home from work. But...there is another movie that I am embarrassed to say I sort of want to see. The Hannah Montana movie. WHY?? I don't know! What is wrong with me? Shouldn't only 13 year old girls and boys be into Miley Cyrus. YIKES! I should also pick up an issue of J14 magazine too and Teen Beat. What is it about the Hannah/Miley craze that has pulled me in.

FLAME FEVER!!!!!!!

WOW!! What a game last night. I was pretty freaked out after the first 3 and a half minutes and we were down 3 nothing. But our boys made a huge comeback.  I love seeing this city get into playoff fever. It's AWESOME! I think the hot new hair do is the "faux hawk" which has been dubbed the jerome hawk. If you got some sweet hair, I think GIRLS and guys should rock it. Tomorrow morning we will be chowing down on some SHARK with Hotel Arts and Kelly Doody from the Sun. SHould be fun. I'm bringing my appetite. Just like the Flames did last night!!

Something I never want to see again

Alright. As you know it's Chad vs Fuzzy $10,000 Charity Challenge. Yesterday was challenge #1. SYNCHRO or SWIM. We headed out to the Talismen Centre and teamed up with the Calgary Aquabelles, and both Chad and Fuzzy had to perform a synchronized swimming routine. So we all knew that Fuzzy couldn't swim, but thankfully the talented staff at Talismen helped Fuzzy with a few float belts and water wings. Fuzzy did great...but I also saw something I hope to never see again.

CHAD in a SPEEDO! It's not that Chad doesn't have a nice body to pull of a speedo. BUT, it's like seeing your brother in one. NOT NICE! To much skin. WAY WAY WAY too much. Thankfully he went for the boxer brief speedo, but my eyes are still burning from seeing his white and pasty skin.

Synchro or Swim

Today is D-Day. Or SWIM day for Fuzzy and Chad. IT's Challenge #1 in the Chad vs Fuzzy $10,000 Charity Challenge. Later on today we will be heading down to the Talismen Centre where Fuzzy and Chad will each do a mini routine with the Calgary Aquabelles!!

So which one will be a better synchro swimmer?? I think I am going to have to put my money on Chad, seeing as Fuzzy does not even know how to swim. I hope they have extra lifeguards on hand today @ Talismen. Rumor also has it that Chad will be showing up in a SPEEDO!! I am scared. Very. But they are both braver than most. The good thing about this $10,000 Charity Challenge the boss has come up with, is that every SINGLE challenge will be video taped...and put on you tube. So you won't miss a moment. Such as Chad's wardrobe malfunction with his speedo and fuzzy getting mouth to mouth from a life guard!

Buy My Body.....

SO here we go...today...for the first time in my life...I will wear a speeedo!! It's all part of the first challenge in Chad vs. Fuzzy: The $10,000 Charity Challenge. I figure if we are going to try and pretend to become synchronized swimmers today ath the Talisman Centre, we might as well dress the part, and although I have never seen a professional male synchro swimmer in my life...I am told if there was one...they would wear a speedo. So last night I shopped at Swimco in Market Mall, and found a nice, tight, speedo...with station colors to boot! Got to admit...there is alot of pasty white skin showing...and it's not pretty...hope I don't scare anyone at the pool! But I did come up with an idea...sell my bare real estate to anyone who wants some advertising. I mean the challenges are all going tobe videotaped an put up on Youtube and the Vibe 98-5 website, so the exposure (pardon the pun) for a company could be huge. Now I am not saying I want $$$ for this, make me an offer...you have a company that wants to help cover me up with your logo so that I don't send people fleeing the Talisman in horror after seeing me in a speedo? Ok. I will admit this, I have a few unpaid City of Calgary parking tickets in my glove box.

 I know I know. I should pay them, because now they are $$$$$!!!

Well...now they have finally decided you can pay online...which is much more handy than driving downtown looking for a parking spot. www.calgaryparking.com! SO, today I plan on paying my outstanding tickets. Oh JOY! I will let ya know how much they are. SCARY!

The Juno Weekend Recap!

WOW! What an amazing weekend. I think our city put on a fantastic awards show, proving to everyone that yes...Calgary is the best city in the world. Congrats to our hometown girl Fiest, taking home 5 awards.

Pretty much everywhere you went in the city you would find a party! I want to thank the boys of Faber Drive especially Faber, for hooking me up with passes to the Rockstar Hotel party. Wow. It was crazy. There were ton's of different rooms with FREE swag. My fave room was the Adidas room..I got free sneaks. All the big names were upstairs...like K-os, Hedley, Jully Black, The Calgary Flames! IT was soooooo insane. I think I am still recovering this morning. Ouch.

- a group of girls trying to convince Dion Phaneuf to hit floor #2 at Hotel Arts and score them some free swag! With his new contract her could just go out and buy it!

- Former MuchMusic VJ and Entertainment Tonight reporter Rick The Temp getting denied entry to the Rockstar Party at Hotel Arts.

- Several NHL legends substituting beer for water on the bench at the Juno Cup Friday night.

What's Next

Well we have no clue of what the boss has planned for us on Monday morning. I guess he's tired of the back and forth fighting between me & Chad. I don't see what the big deal is it was all in good fun and once Chad can admit he took his April Fools joke too far we can be friends again;-)...just kidding everything between me and Chad is cool...he just has to be ready for me to get my revenge. (insert evil laugh here)

DID JUNO....

I am sooooooo excited for the Juno's this weekend!! The musicians, the awards, and the parties! I went and saw our Vibe Fashionista Kim Stern at Boutik yesterday and she hooked me up with the sweetest little purple dress ever!! It's soooooooooo cute. I usually don't wear dresses, but this one rocks. I can't wait to show it off at the awards and the Rockstar hotel party. I will take ton's of pictures...for proof that I am wearing a dress. It took him 30 years to try Cheerios!

I don't know why this baffles me so much.
Maybe it is because Cheerios are such a mainstream, staple breakfast cereal. I mean everyone has their favorite cereal of all time, but at some point we have all tried either Corn Flakes, Shreddies, Rice Krispies, and Cherrios...or so I thought.

The other day while on set for a TV commercial shoot...Fuzzy was given a bowl of Cheerios as a prop...and after devouring the entire bowl...and eventually the box....declared...."hmmm...these are pretty good...can't believe I have never had them before".
He is a grown man.
He is a cereal lover.
His parents fed him...well.

APRIL FOOLS!!

Ohhhhhhhhh how I love April Fools day! I have been known to play tricks and pranks on April Fools since I was a young fool back in the day. My most fond memory was in grade 6...I decided to saran wrap the teachers toliet at school...there was only one (remember I grew up in a town of 12 people and we had like 70 students from k-12). So I saran the toliet thinking ha ha ha ha. WEll the principal comes into my homeroom...Mrs. Thunderchild, she had her coat around her waist and asked to see me in the office. Oh oh. I think. But am also thinkin YES!! I got her. She has pee on her. he he he.

What is going on with babies and birth control???

There has been a story that has surfaced recently in the news about a man...that is right...a man...male..with all the proper parts...who is pregnant! No, this is not a sequel to old Arnold Schwarzenegger movie, it's for real. And apparently the dude with a bun in the oven is going to be making an appearance on Oprah this Wednesday to spill all the details. Gotta check it out! Follow that up with the story yesterday about a team of German scientists who have developed a birth control pill for men. Which now begs the question...who, in a relationship should be responsible for poppin' "the pill"?

Fuzzy is a dead man walking!

A message to my friend and co-host Fuzzy....live in fear my friend...live in fear.

So I walk in to my office this morning after an nice relaxing week off...that involved way to many work related interruptions and a nasty rash (another blog another time) only to find my entire office...floor to ceiling...stuffed with balloons. It was so packed I could not even get to the light switch.

I always come in to work a few minutes early after a holiday just to make sure I get caught up on things before getting back to my regular routine. Thank god I did this morning as it took me over 45 minutes just to get enough balloons out so I could reach my desk.

Gone baby GONE!!!!!!!

WOW! It's been a crazy few months, and I'm getting ready to take some R & R! As of 9:01 today, I am on holidays! I am doing a whirlwind tour....Edmonton...North Battleford, SK...Saskatoon, SK, and then VANCOUVER! I am so excited to go to Vancouver as I have never been. I am going to ride whales and eat sushi. Mmmmmmmmm. And shop. I will be back to talk about my adventures on March 31st! Until then. Aloha. Bonjour? Goodbye!

Juno Stuff

Hey...just a reminder...we are 2 weeks away from Juno craziness hitting Calgary. It will probably bve a long time befor ewe see the Juno's here again so take advantage of all the cool events that are happening the weekend of April 4th.

As you may or may not have heard....I have be asked to coach the team of NHL greats (including Lanny McDonald, Paul Coffey and Bob Probert) who are taking on the team of Rockers at the Juno Cup on Aoril 4th at the Corral. I have coached minor football in the past...and have not played hockey since I was a kid....but talk about the easiest coaching gig ever!!! What do these NHL greats need me to coach them on....NOTHING...except for some major fun on the bench! Bring the whole family out...tickets are only $15!

I survived the great Toronto blizzard of '08!

I vividly remember watching the news a few years ago when the city of Toronto called in the army after a major blizzard (translation to Albertans: minor snowstorm!)to help keep the peace. We all laughed and mocked the centre of the universe about not being able to deal with a little snow.

Well last week I had to head to Toronto for a conference for all of us radio types across Canada. And when it was announced that a MAJOR BLIZZARD was coming our way, the whole city panicked. Don't leave your home or hotel. don't drive, flights are cancelled, prepare to build an igloo and hunt polar bears. The warnings were everywhere!

Want a pet shark!!

Today, we had the lovely Cheryl from the Calgary Humane Societ on our show...talking about an odd pet up for adoption. A SHARK! Yes, they have a shark looking for a home that goes by the name "Baby". He can grow up to ONE METRE long, so he needs a family with a big tank that can fit him. She said my bathtub probably wouldn't work. Will the headaches stop!?!

For the last few weeks I have been getting bad headaches...first the right side of my head then the left! So, today I go and get my eyes checked. I am thinking with all the time I spend hanging on the computer working REALLY hard (Facebook), my eyes need to be checked up on.

 I have never had glasses...or contacts, so I am a tad nervous, but hopefully this will be the problem behind my headaches! Should I get bifocals?! I just hope the headaches go away!

So this past weeken I went to the Home & Garden Show where they had this fancy toilet seat that heats up and has a special hose that washes your "business". When you think about it no toilet paper being used is very friendy to the environment. It might be woth a try.

City TV's Andrew Shultz is my hero!

For the simple fact that I work at a radio station, and that I have been involved in music for many years, people always assume lyou can identify any song, at any time" based on a single note or one word from one line of a song. I wish it was true, but it's not the case. I used to think I had a pretty good knowledge of music, bu thtis past weekend, I got schooled!!!!

I spent the weekend in Golden BC at Kicking Horse along with a ton of us media types from Calgary courtesy of my good friends from Cardel Homes (thanks Heather!). Our Saturday night festivities involved a late night "name that tune" battle. Normally this compeitition is not a big test, but that was before I battled Andrew Shultz from CITY TV. I now officially declare this guy a song STUDD!!!!! Most of the time we weren't even on enot einot the song before the guy was belting out title, artist, year released and which girl he kissed while slow dancing to that song in high school! He was crazy good! Makes me wonder if there was some kind of fix to the competition....I need to investigate....

The countdown is on for the HILLS!!

Monday...MARCH 24th. I will be at home in front of the TV...getting ready for Season 3 of the HILLS! Why do I love this show. Not sure. It's my guilty pleasure. I think I lose all sense of reality when I watch it, and pretend I'm in LA with girls. (Ok that sounds a bit creepy). But for you Hills fans out there....here is some juice!

MTV is offering fans a sneak preview of the upcoming bonus episodes of The Hills, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The bonus segments, debuting March 24th, will begin with Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port's trip to Paris to work for Teen Vogue. The Los Angeles-based story line featuring Heidi Montag and boyfriend Spencer Pratt will also advance. Conrad announced that MTV was ordering eight more episodes of The Hills during the show's third-season finale on December 11th, which attracted an audience of 4.7 million viewers.

I was stalked!

There was a big sale at a furniture store this weekend, so I stopped by to check out some deals (I may have a slight addiction to constantly redecorating my home!) Why is it that when you want help you can never find someone (Home Depot!) and when you don't want to be bothered you get stalked by an overbearing sales person? That is exactly what happened to me! I seriously felt uncomfortable (which takes alot for me) as this guy was constantly within a 5 ft radius, staring intently, waiting like a shark circling his prey! I told him twice I was just browsing, but there I was, expecting this guy to jump out of every dresser drawer I opened or hidden under every cushion I sat on. So Much Scandal...

Wow I don't know if anyone is watching the live feeds of Big Brother 9 or not...but trust me when I say it is scandalous. They've taken a bunch of horny rabbits and put them in a room with booze. Again WOW. And what about tonight's Moment of Truth...you would think that if you were going to ruin your marriage on national TV you would at least make some money off of it. She walked away with NOTHING...YIKES...

Oscars (make me a Grouch)

8 hours of pre show and then an award show that ran for just under 4 hours...way to much oscar coverage...the only highlights were the guys from Superbad presenting...Jon Stewart's baby award...and the Gary Busey fiasco on the red carpet (which is today's Fuzzytube video)...at least award shows are almost done for a while now...

Dentist Fear...

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh it's already FRIDAY! What a lovely short work week!! FOR YOU?! Today, I have to go to a place where I dread...THE DENTIST. Insert Dani SCREAMING like a little kid. I still have 2 wisdom teeth that need to get pulled, and a cracked molar, oh and a cleaning. What an awesome Friday. Why did I book this appointment on a FRIDAY!?!? I should have booked it on a Monday, then took the rest of the week off to recover!! I hope your weekend goes better than mine...can someone pass the floss?!

Everything is going up!

A couple big money stories in the paper this morning... First off...the price of bread and other "wheat" products is set to drastically rise in the next few months...all do to the price of wheat rising 300% over the last year...and a global wheat shortage. Then it's the warning that gas will hit $1.50 a litre this summer... and finally a story that, to no ones surprise...housing prices have more than tripled over the last 10 years. So what a person to do? Well it's either walk more, eat less bread and cereal and live in a tent, move back in with my parents, or suck it up! Which would you choose???

I need a new cell phone

Lately, everytime I talk to my dad or a friend...I get this "WHY DO you have MARBLES in your mouth". I don't...that is just dangerous. It's my cell phone, which happens to also be my home phone. There are WAY too many phones to pick from. Do I really NEED a blackberry, or do I just WANT one. Just so I can facebook?! Grrrrrrrrr. I am going to the mall today, and hopefully will have an answer, or will continue to be known as Marble Mouth!

Addiction is bad

I held off for as long as I could.
Everyone around me eventually fell into the trap.
But I resisted.
It consumed them.
Every weekend they would gather together in large groups and partake in this act until they slumped over in a heap of exhaustion.
I laughed and said it would never get the best of me.
But this weekend...my lil brother spoke the evil words...

Writers Strike finally OVER...so when will my shows be back on!

The writers strike is finally over and the networks are anxious to let viewers know when they can catch new episodes of their favorite shows. Happy Valentines...and a big thank you

I've got to say a big thanks to Haitham and Hansa from Edible Arrangement for making sure I had a great gift for my wife this Valentines Day. Being the procrastinator that I am I put it off until this morning and they managed to come through.

The long wait ahead

If you work in an office with alot of female employees, like we do, try observing this today, for some fun. In our office...every Valentine's day there is a pretty steady stream of flower deliveries to people from their Valentines. It is kind of fun to watch all the ladies hang out at reception all day to see if the next delivery is for them. Always nice to see the big smile on their face when the get a surprise (ok not really that surprising) gift from their sweety. The compeition heats up at the end of the day, when only those with flowers can gloat and others end up frustrated as to why they did not get a special delivery!

Today marks the 20th Anniversary of the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics! Calgary has changed so much in the past 20 years, but without the '88 Olympics...we wouldn't have Nikiska, The Dome, and of course those vintage Sun Ice coats! I went to Edmonton this weekend....

AND ALL I BROUGHT BACK WAS A LOUSY COLD!!! And the worst part about it,I never get sick! Fuzzy always makes fun of me because I always say that I am invincible cause I rarely get sick. So since Christmas I've become addicted to the video game Halo 3. Now I'm slowly getting better to the point where I can almost compete with my friends...but last night I had a total reality check. Last night Mastermind stopped by my place with his kids, and his son Nate who is 12 years old beat me 25 to 6...it's one thing to be beaten by kids online...which I'm sure happens all the time...but to have it happen in your own living room is a whole other story. Kinda Bored with Idol!

Don't even get me started about the whole conspiracy as to why Giant Jarrod's votes were not registering for Media Idol...not amused!

After watching last nights American Idol auditions from Atlanta...I found myself...bored. Normally, outside of the Top 5 shows, these are my favorite episodes. All the freaks and terrible singers used to be amusing, but this year, I don't know...it's just not the same.

Is it because Simon is being to nice?
Is it cause the judges aren't trying to stangle each other?
Or has American no new freaks to exploit?

You know you have a problem with facebook....

So, I'm not a HUGE talker on the telephone. I have never been one of those girls, who spends hours on her phone just chatting. If I haven't talked to a friend in awhile, or need to catch up, then I call. I don't use my phone for the sake of talking. I do, on the other hand use my FACEBOOK page for randmon nothingness. IS that the word? My best friend since Grade 6...called me a few times over the weekend, I was busy and never got the chance to call her back. And she never left a message, so I figured no biggie. This morning I check my facebook. And she wrote on my wall saying "since you never answer your phone, you should know that your going to be an aunty...I'm pregnant". Oh. Opps. So pick up your phone. And put down facebook. Should I send her a free gift on facebook to show her congrats?! hmmm. Probably not. I better call her today!

Idol Auditions @ Sunridge Mall

Superbowl Sunday

Break out the chips and dip. It's time for one of the biggest sporting events of the year...SUPERBOWL Sunday. (Of course the main event was the Grey Cup last year when the Riders won). I am excited for this Sunday's game. I'm not a HUGE NFL fan, but have been watching more and more games lately. I've always been a fan of HOTTIE Tom Brady, and perhaps the fact his team is in the finals, and undefeated may have another reason why me and my girlfriends will be watching. Also, the STAR factor. Can you believe they are doing a red carpet at the Superbowl?? Yeah. Ryan Seacrest will be hosting it. I'm not sure how I feel about that...seems a bit tacky for a big sporting event. But if Tom Brady is on the red carpet...BRING it on! Enjoy your Superbowl Sunday weekend! Plus, the food, celebs, and the commericals. I will enjoy my Tom Brady.

Should I watch "Lost" or just wait til it ends to see if it was worth it?

Brand new season of LOST starts on the tube tonight.
I was really into season 1, but then missed a few episodes of season 2, and since then, well I have been as alost as those on the show! So now for my dilemna....Do I watch the recap episode tonight, try and get caught up and then start over again with the new season, or should I just wait for the whole series to end in a few seasons, see if the ending is worth it...then rent the entire series on DVD, play sick for a week, and watch the whole thing back to back??? FYI - that is what I am doing with the Sapranos right now...not the take a week off part...just watching it now that it is over.

Old Man Winter

As the cold snap continues, I hope your staying as warm as you can!! Get some extra hot chocolate in you. I don't know if the cold snap is messing with my head/body or not. Yesterday, I woke up and my knee and hip bone were aching...ACHING really bad. I thought I just slept weird, but the 'ache' has continued til today. You know how senior citizens complain that they can feel the cold in their bones, is this happening to me?! It's the weirdest thing. I haven't done anything to make my knee/hip bone ache...no falling, nothing physical. IT's the oddest thing. So, I'm not sure if it's the cold that is making my body hurt, but if it is...go back and bundle up. My knee is killing me. I need a walker.

Syndication is a wonderful thing...

Considering that I had never watched an episode of Two and A Half Men in the first 4 years it was on TV, I'm pleasantly surprised to find out that it's one of the funniest shows ever...and I have syndication to thank. I can't turn on the TV without finding an episode on...and because I've never watched it before , they're all new episodes.

Ebay Addict!!

A few weeks ago I signed up for ebay. I don't think this was a good idea!! So far, I've boughten a number of items that I really don't need. My first item of purchase, was the game from my past Connect Four. IT was only a loonie, and then 12 bucks shipping! Ha. My 2nd purchase was $2 SHOES...yes someone else's Adidas shoes, they arrived yesterday. I love them. I have also bought DVDs, eyeglasses, and a hoodie. Will the insanity stop?!

So, I ask this...what is the silliest thing you have bought on EBAY?! My feet are tingly...I hope its not the two dollar shoes I'm wearing!!

Christmas in January???

Well it was great to have a new episode of House on TV Tuesday night...but because of the writers strike it was a Christmas themed one. Oh well at least it was the first of a bunch of new episodes...I can't wait for the next one on Sunday after the Super Bowl.

NEW YEAR New Years Resolutions!!!

It's a brand new year! 2008. I hope your Christmas & New Years celebrations were full of family, food and fun. I know today my pants are feeling a bit tight in the waist. So, I have decided to come up with a list of some REALISTIC new years resolutions, which I will try to keep! #1. Get in SHAPE. Eat better. Typical stuff. Just be healthy. Seems easy enough. #2. Save money. I guess those shoes will just have to wait... #3. Read more. I forgot how much I love reading books. So I plan on reading a lot. Any good suggestions email me! These are the main 3 that I am going to work on. So far, so good.

It's that Season

It's that season, and I don't understand. I open up the paper today and more people are killed this weekend by drinking and driving. This past Friday I attended the funeral of the daughter of a family that has been friends with my family since I was a kid. Their daughter was killed in a drunk driving accident. So senseless. So supid. So please, before you head out to your Christmas parties over the next few weeks, (knowing that it takes forever to get a cab in this city) please take the proper steps to make sure you have a safe way of getting home. Let's do our best to have a holiday season spending time with family and friends, instead of having our friends and families say "goodbye" to us.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Brrrrrrrrrrr. I would have to say that I am just wondering where this crazy Chinook weather is I keep hearing about. Winter has officially arrived in the city. I hope your prepared...just a reminder to have that winter emergency kit handy in your car, because you just never know what Mother Nature has in store for us. Ok. So, I think I will get more in the holiday spirit around Dec 1st or so. But I am in the HOLIDAY ORANGES aka CHRISTMAS orange spirit. I had such a craving for them last night I went and bought a box at the grocery store last night, and no joke...I ate at least 8 IN A ROW!! Is there something wrong with me?! Do people do this? Just Missed....

I'm back from a week off. I was down in Los Angeles visitng a friend and Micky Mouse, and missing major celeb run ins by mere moments. It seemed every time I left a mall, shop or restaurant there was a major celb who walked in moments later. I was shopping on Melrose, saw Oprah's best friend Gayle shooting some stuff there...left...got back to my friends place only to find out Michael Jackson was shopping in the same store I was in moment after I had left. Other stars I just missed, Lindsay Lohan, Britney, Paris and more. Oh well, glad to be back....35 more sleeps 'til Christmas!! Chad

LONG WEEKEND!

3 days of sleeping in!! I'm so excited to sleep in past 3am. The bags under my eyes are telling me to get some extra zzzz's this weekend. It's a busy weekend for me. Tonight I have SLUMLORD Stacie's going away party as she heads back to Saskatchewan. Then on Saturday my sister and a good friend are coming up to Calgary for the Edmonton Oilers/Flames game. We BETTER make it on the jumbotron. And then Sunday it's the BIG CFL game. Riders vs Stamps! I'm originally from SK, so I have to cheer for my boys. It's going to be a wild weekend. Don't forget this Sunday it is also REMEBERANCE DAY, and to take some time to remember those who lost their lives for us, and who are currently over fighting for us. Wear a poppy proud and do please give to the veterans. They helped our country become the great place it is today.

I love my coffee. IN the morning...on weekends reading the paper...and after a good hearty meal. Ear Infection

Hello...HELLO...hi. Ok. Good. I can still hear. So for the past few days ok maybe a week or so, my ear has been hurting big time. I went to the doctor last week, and he said I do have an ear infection. This is my first one I have ever had. And never want another one again. I took my antibiotic pills, but I think it's back. It still hurts. Or is it suppose to for a few days after?! I also put peroxide in it...some guy told me too. What was I thinking, I don't know. But it feels good when I do. Yikes. Any tips!! Poppy Donations Stolen

It happens every year at this time. Some scum of the earth goes around stealing the poppy donations boxes from a restaurant, gas station or other business that has given thier counter space to help raise $$$ for our veterans. I could go on a rant about "who commits such a act?" I could write to you my thoughts about our veterans, of which my grandfather was one, and how time is running out for us to honor those who fought for us in WWII and other wars, back when sometimes they didn't have a choice about whether or not to serve their county. Instead I wonder...year after year...the same thing happens...people steal the poppy donation boxes. Is there something we can do to change the donation procedure? Make the boxes more secure? Anything?

Christmas Music already....

Well Halloween is over, and now it's on to the next big holiday...CHRISTMAS. Yikes. Chad and Fuzzy are ALREADY buzzing about Christmas. Am I a grinch? I'm not in the mood yet, it's like 2 months away almost!I do love the holidays, but it seems that it's too soon to be in the holiday spirit? You can find them at WALMART, they cost about $40 for a string of 100 long lights, and the best part is you know longer have to worry about plugging and unplugging your xmas lights...cause these suckers are totally sun powered. Just find a spot to place the solar panel and you are good to go!!! Just thought I would share this bit of good news to save you some $$$ on electricity this holiday season.

Today was the wrap up for the VIBE 98.5 Bra's For A Cause...it was AMAZING. Weekend stuff to do

Wow, A busy weekend ahead. A quick reminder that the Vibe team will be in centre court at Chinook Centre all day on Saturday collecting bras and selling paper bras for Vibe 98-5's Bras for a Cause in support of the Breast Cancer Suportive Care Clinic. The big finale happens on the Vibe Morning Show on Monday. Once again a big thanks to Cardel home who makes a cash donation to the BCSC for every bra we collect. The snow is good

Am I the only one happy to see snow on the ground??? My biggest escape is to hit Sunnshine Village for a day of snowboarding. And even though there can be 200 plus centimetres of snow on the mountian and not a flake in the city...seeing it this morning has got me excited. I just may have to get the board out for a tune up and waxing today....ya I know...a little premature...but a boarder can be excited can't he??? Happy Thursday! Chad

7 MORE DAYS TIL HALLOWEEN!!

So my fave holiday of the year is just around the corner! I'm so excited for HALLOWEEN. Currently I am 'working' on my costume, I can't divulge any info just yet...it will be a surprise. Let's just say it involves a diaper...and I'm not being Fuzzy from our TV Commercial. I can't wait to hand out candy to the cute little kids, and of course eat some for my self!! Wow...what a busy weekend! And I do have to say a hige thank you to everyone who came out in support. It all started Friday night at the Whiskey for the VIbe 98-5 Bras for A Cause All Pink Party. A Big thank you to the gang from Navan for allowing me to spill Pink Martini's everywhere! Then it was off to the women's show on Saturday and Sunday to do my on stage hosting duties with the men of the Young and the Restless. I had a blast with Cane (Daniel Goddard) and Micheal (Crhistian Leblanc) from the show on Saturday...they were great...and we raised $2600 for Bras for A Cause and World Vision by auctioning off a pair of jeans that Cane has worn on the show.
