| Description: Are you one of Calgary's bestMompreneurs®? Well now's the time to truly show what you've got.
This morning we had Chris from Calaway Park on the show to talk about the upcoming auditions for summer performers. The auditions are this Saturday at The Metropolitan Centre (333-4th Ave SW). Auditions start at 9:30am. For dancers who are under 18, make sure to bring a parent or guardian with you for the presentation. They are looking for dancers/performers between the ages of 17-22. Make sure to bring a resume and a recent photo. And don't wear JEANS! ha. For more info you can head to www.calawaypark.com. This would be such a cool summer job! Good luck.
This weekend thousands of excited women are heading down to the Round Up Centre for the Wedding Fair on Sunday. Everyone will be showing off their sparkly engagment rings...but soon it may be guys doing it too. They are making engagment rings for dudes. Would your guy wear one? Jeweler H. Samuel is either attempting to broaden his target market or is just plain tired of the popular convention that dictates a woman wear an engagement ring until her wedding date; his brand new Tioro ring is meant to be worn as a men's engagement ring. According to the Daily Mail, H. Samuel is the only jeweler in Britain to offer engagement rings exclusively for men. The Tioro ring is a titanium band with a small diamond, priced at £79.99--a far cry from the blinged-out engagement rings that don the ring fingers of well-heeled women worldwide.
Best invention ever!! I think we have all kissed someone before with bad breath...it's not fun. Now there is a gadget that can make your love life much easier!! IT's called "THE KISS-O-METER". The Kiss-o-Meter comes to us just in times for Valentine's Day. Working similar to a breathalyzer for booze, this nifty gizmo detects if your mouth is ready for some tongue tango by sniffing out the cavern that your pretty pucker encases. With Valentine's Day just around the corner, we're sure this is only the first of many love-related gadgets we'll be checking out, so if this is up your alley, be sure to bookmark us!
Ladies...and a few gentlemen out there can sympathize with me. SNORERS SUCK! ha. Yes, Trump can be quite the snorer but I think I may have found a cure. Sort of. There is a new t-shirt that is suppose to help snorers. Check it out. Until then...ear plugs? Other bedroom?
Snoring is annoying, but sleep apnea is frightening. The Rem-a-tee Anti-Snore shirt treats both, ensuring both the one with disturbed sleep patterns and those who sleep nearby can relax too. The shirt looks like it has three big toilet paper rolls attached to the back, a design meant to prevent the sleeper from laying on their back, a position which has been attributed as one of the key causes of snoring.
So this past weekend I saw a TV ad for the new 2010 comemorative Olympic glasses...and it made me wonder...does anyone still have the old Calgary 88 glasses. I know my mother does...but she's a collector of knick knacks and other dust collectors...or as my dad like to call them junk. Anyway...you can check out the Vancouver 2010 glasses at www.petro-canada.ca
Achoooooooooooo! I am sooo stuffed up. Tis the season for colds. I caught a bad one, and it seems half of the staff at Vibe are sick too. Everyone is sneezing, coughing, blowing their noses...and more more are going down everyday. There is a new trend so to speak in the US. Parents are holding sick parties. This is where say, your kid has chicken pox...other parents will bring their kids over so that they catch it too. IS this odd? Does it make sense? I remember when I had the chicken pox, I was about 9 or 10...and my aunty brought our cousins over so they would catch it!! Is this normal?? I'm not a parent so I'm not sure.

Thinking of picking up a part-time job to make some extra cash?! Maybe try these 'odd' jobs out!! Wrinkle Chaser This is the person that irons wrinkles from shoes as they are being made to ensure they are perfectly smooth when you buy them. Chicken Sexer This is a real job title. A chicken sexer sorts through baby chicks to determine if they are male or female, and then segregate them.
So Chad and Dani have accused me of being a half samaritan because I thought about helping someone but didn't. I was driving the Deerfoot and I saw someone on the side of the road was washing thier windshield with snow because they ran out of windshield wash. I had an extra jug in my car and would have given it to them but I really had to use the washroom and was almost home...so there was no stopping. So is it bad that I had good samar-intentions...I intended to do a good deed...but it just wasn't feasible at the time. Doed that make me a bad samaritan?
This weekend I'm heading up to Banff for my friends birthday party. We are going to ski, hit the pubs, go to the hot springs and more. I'm excited. If you see someone on their butt on Sunshine...that will be me. It's going to be so nice this weekend too. Maybe I will ski in jeans?? Grr. I hate that on the hill. haha. I was talking to Doug at SkiBanff.com and he told me about a really cool promo that is going on right now. "It's A Taste of Sunshine" It's a "wine and dine" event...very cool You get VIP parking, 1 night stay at the NEW Sunshine Mountain Lodge, A Taste of Sunshine reservations (amazing food and wine), next day skiing and multi-course tasting menu including wine pairings! So maybe book an early romantic weekend and enjoy taste of Sunshine. For more info you can call 1-87-SKIBANFF. A Taste of Sunshine runs Jan 17, Jan 31, Feb 28th, and March 14th.
So yesterday i got to check out Stomp and the new Biggie biopic 'Notorious'. Stomp was absolutely amazing...if you can see it while it's in town, definatly check it out. My favorite part was the sinks. As for the movie 'Notorious'...I'm kind of torn. Going into the theatre I had big...sorry I mean B.I.G. expectations. And while the movie was good...I just don't think it lived up to my expectations. Maybe I need to see it again. The only bad thing about the day was that I didn't get to see any TV last night...so I'm off to catch up with my PVR.
England's RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is threatening legal action against dog owners who "over-dress" their pets. Officials claim that putting on items such as boots, pants and hoodies, could be harmful to dogs and lead to prosecution for owners if they feel an animal's welfare is at risk. Canine couture is big business and the increasing trend among owners to dress their pets fashionably has even led to top fashion designers creating dog outfits. If you are not a fan of people who dress pets then I don't reccomend checking out these sites:
Busy...but fun day today. This morning a buddy of mine and myself are going to check out the advance screening of the Notorious BIG biopic 'Notorious'. And then tonight my wife and I are going to check out 'Stomp' at the Jubilee! I'm super excited about both...the only problem is that there's a ton of TV show on tonight too like Biggest Loser, American Idol, and 90210. If only I could wrap it all up into one...it would be '9-0-torious BIG-gest Stomp Idol'...I'll have my review of all tomorrow.
Tonight it's the return of the biggest show on TV--AMERICAN IDOL. Since we don't have Cancon Idol to look forward to this year, (Canadian IDol was canceled if you didn't know)I'm actually sort of excited to see Paula, Randy, Ryan, Simon, and that new girl. Yes, there will be a few changes on American Idol tonight to watch for. Including a NEW JUDGE. All I know is that she wrote 4 songs for Paris Hilton's album. Wow!! (Also Carrie Underwood and Celine Dion). But PARIS HILTON! Hopefully that is not her claim to fame. Her name is Kara DioGuardi. I wonder what Paula thinks of this?! YIkes. Cat fights!!
It is cold and flu season, and for the next couple of weeks I am looking for your "HEALTH TIPS". How do you keep healthy during the cold and flu season?? Email me your tip to dani@vibe985.com or morningshow@vibe985.com and you can score prizes from Advil...and Calgary Pilates.
So Burger King has teamed up with the folks from Facebook to create the Whopper Sacrifice Application. For every 10 friends that you remove you get a coupon for a free Whopper. Which raises the question of which 10 friends would you dump for a hamburger? Check out www.whoppersacrifice.com
It's back...another season of hard hitting lacrosse with our Calgary Roughnecks! Tomorrow night they will heat up the Dome with their home opener against the Edmonton Rush (insert boooooos here). Game is at 7pm! The thing I like about going to the Roughnecks game, is that its affordable...fun...and Andrew McBride. ha! Yes, I have a lacrosse crush on Andrew. To get tickets to tomorrow's game www.calgaryroughnecks.comWatch for me...I will be the one with the I HEART MCBRIDE sign.
Dani + Money = AWFUL!! I am sooooooo not good with my money, so this year I'm going to actually TRY and save a bit. And everywhere you go everyone is talking about the hard times...from Oprah to Ellen!! I found this piece of info pretty interesting... keep track of the last 5 things you spent money on... the last 5 things i bought were1-gas 2-pants 3-t-shirt off ebay 4-windshield wiper fluid 5-lipgloss Did I really need those? #1 and 5 yes...but the others no...hmm. So I am going to try doing this a few times and see if curbs the way I spend. Will someone else buy me the things I don't need but want?? Hmm. Do you have easy money saving tips? Email dani@vibe985.com.
This weekend Vibe is at the Motorcycle Show for "SHE RIDES" night out on Friday. Ladies, we are giving away a 2009 Suzuki GZ250! Last year me and a few girls from work did the "She Rides" course where you learn to ride, it was soooooooo fun! I didn't want to get off the bike. And also couldn't remember how to STOP. But ladies if you wanna learn or are interested I highly recommend this event. So fun! Plus, cute dudes in leather...the good kind. haha. Motorcycle show runs Jan 9-11th at the Round Up Centre.
Last night it was the premiere of the Bachelor, and like always lot's of crazy girls!! There were 2 girls representing Alberta, including Nicole from Calgary who was eliminated, and Jillian who is my FAVE and still in the running. She had an interesting theory on men...you can tell what kind of guy they are by what they PUT ON THEIR HOT DOGS!! YES!! So, Jillian says: A ketchup guy is a good loyal guy, he calls his mom a lot.
Oh oh. I think I am becoming attached to a certain article of clothing that I can't put away. Yesterday, I decided I needed some new 'comfy pants' as I call them aka sweats. I bought a sweet pair of brown Roots sweats. As soon as I tried them on, I knew they were meant for me. I love them. I can't wait to go home and put them on...I want to wear them to work...to curling...to the pub...is that ok?! Are you attached to any item of clothing?! If you need a sweet pair of sweats I reccomend these....I have a problem don't I!!

One of my favorite shows returns to TV tonight...The Bachelor!!! It's trashy TV at it's best...and the first 2 episodes are must see TV because the producers always put a psycho or 2 in the mix just to spice it up. Like last year when the one girl got hammered on the first night and interupted a conversation to give the dude the panties she was wearing...CLASSY!!!! Once the psycho's are gone...meh...it's not as fun though.
Wow!! Can you believe it's already 2009. Where did 2008 go? IT was such a quick year. I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Years. We went to the hockey game and then to Richmonds pub. So much fun. I know lot's of people make New Years resolutions...are you? I have done so in the past, but by week 2 of January I break them. This year I have one I'm sticking too... it's seperating the colours when I do laundry. ha! I have always been a throw it all in the washer type of girl, and Trump is a white/colour/towel different load kind of guy. Yesterday, I turned his fave jeans PINK, by washing my new red pashmina with them!! Opps. So, I think it's time to seperate THE COLOURS. It can't be that difficult can it? Happy New Years!

Due to the economic hard times...or maybe you just spent WAY too much this holiday season, I've found a few FREE NEW YEARS PARTIES for you and your family. Tomorrow at Olympic Plaza starting at 6pm you can head down and enjoy a free night of fun. They will have skating, street hockey, food vendors, magicians, storytellers, performers and more! The even runs til 12:30am. They will also have movies showing on the giant screen at Olympic Plaza. There will be a 'kiddies' countdown early at 9pm that comes complete with a pyrotechnics show. Just a heads up if you are traveling downtown for the event that Macleod Trail will be closed from 9am tomorrow until 6am Jan 1st. You can also check out the Calgary Zoo's ZOO YEARS EVE. Which starts at 6pm and ends with a fireworks display at 8:30pm. Tickets are available and must be purchased in advance. Another family-friendly event you can check out is the Calgary Zoo's annual "Zoo Year's Eve" which also starts at 6 P.M. and ends with a fire works display at 8:30.
As we get ready to head into 2009, are there things you wanna forget from the year?! We all have something, and in New York City...they want you to shred your bad memories. They want New Yorkers and tourists to Times Square on Sunday and feed them to an industrial strength shredder. What would you shred? An exboyfriend/girlfriend? Hmm. It's kind of an interesting idea! Hopefully 2009 brings you only GOOD MEMORIES!!
Ho Ho Ho!! Merry Christmas. I am soooooooo excited for Christmas, and if your like me you want to track Santa's every move to find out when he will be in Calgary. I found a few different websites you can check out. You can even GOOGLE maps Santa!! How cool is that. Even for your phone, so if your at your crazy relatives tonight and they don't have a computer...use your phone. All the info is below. Merry Christmas. And don't forget to leave some goodies for Santa tonight.
www.portablenorthpole.sympatico.msn.ca www.alicebot.org/santa www.noradsanta.org (probably the best bet)
The North American Aerospace Defense Command [NORAD] says Santa will be leaving the North Pole today. For over 50 years, they've been "tracking" Santa as he makes his Christmas Eve delivery run. With the advent of GPS, it's much easier to keep watch on exactly where he's flying. You can also see Santa's path at the special Christmas-themed NORAD website: NORAD Santa.org. It's available in several languages.
Well due to the popularity of the game that I posted on Monday...here's another game that will keep you busy over the holidays. Merry Christmas!!!
This Christmas Day if you see smoke coming from a house in Royal Oak...it could be mine! I am going to 'attempt' to cook a turkey. I have never cooked one. Any tips?? Can I microwave it? I do own a roaster, but do I need the pokey things to hold up the turkey? What size do I cook?? All these questions and only 3 days to figure it out. Any help would be great. Is McDonalds open on Christmas Day?? Hmm. I guess if things don't work I can just take the family there for dinner. Any tips email dani@vibe985.com.
I have a few girlfriends who have been dating their guys for just a couple of months and ask me...what do I get them? How much do I spend??! I have no clue!! But I did find this helpful article. RECOMMENDED PRESENTS BASED ON DATING LENGTH (NY Post) 1- 3 Weeks: You've met for dinner and drinks a couple of times, engaged in some PDA and are starting to develop feelings. You don't want to look like Scrooge, but you don't want to look like Santa's little psycho, either. Get her a bottle of perfume, scented candles, a nice bottle of wine - gifts you may eventually enjoy if things progress. If she's into music, a $50 iTunes gift card works.
1-5 months: Can you say cashmere? Scarves, gloves, sweaters - whatever you can get your hands on. And this is the one and only time costume jewelry will be acceptable -- an Yves Saint Laurent cocktail ring will gain you major points. Want to show how selfless you can be? Buy tickets to the ballet or theater for a different night out. She (and her friends) will hold you in the highest esteem.
6-12 months: By now you've met her family, she's accepted your love handles and still said, "I love you, too." Your gift can't be opened: A trip to a bed and breakfast. The two of you can unwind after the hectic holidays. Another route is splurging on some pricey items she wouldn't normally buy for herself: a laptop, a digital camera.
1-2 years: You've been together a while, so get creative with a silk or satin peignoir (that's a bathrobe) with a sexy surprise -- a naughty book? -- in the pocket. You could warm up to that with a gift certificate for dance lessons, which you -- yes, you -- will attend. Pricey earrings or a necklace from a Saks-caliber store will work. You'll be in good the minute she sees the box.
3+ years: If you're single, you've stalled long enough -- buy the engagement ring or face the ugly consequences. If you're married, chances are she wants to get away -- from you. The pricey, sleep-away spas are swank, but most of us can spring for a day spa. Tip: With the playoffs coming up, opt for a Sunday.
Tomorrow morning we're doing something very cool to help out the Mustard Seed. They have a need for Turkeys and Toys again this Christmas so we're doing the 2nd Annual TOY-KEY Drive! Tomorrow morning (Friday) we'll be collecting turkeys and toys down at the downtown location of the Mustard Seed...and for every turkey or toy that you drop off you'll get entered to win a myriad of prizes. Up for grabs we've got CAR STARTERS, NICKLEBACK TICKETS, A NINTENDO WII...and A VIBE MORNING SHOW $1000 CHRISTMAS STOCKING!!! So bring down a turkey or a toy tomorrow morning to the Mustard Seed between 6 and 1
Ok, I love COOKING....I'm just not that great at. I have to cook a Christmas meal that is not turkey and that the young and old will like. We are having turkey on Boxing Day, so I don't want to be turkied out. Is turkied a word? That is besides the point. So any suggestions would be great. Recipes for alternatives to the 'turkey' supper would be fab! Email me dani@vibe985.com. Is mac & cheese appropriate for a Christmas day celebration?? I know I will be happy!!
So the staff here at Vibe are doing a Christmas re-gift tomorrow. Basically you bring in something from your house that you're not using anymore, that some one else may be able to use. It's a great idea and something that I've done in the past...but the problem is that I officially have no junk to get rid of this year. In the last 2 years we have moved 3 times...and everyone knows that the best time to get rid of junk is when you move. PLUS we got rid of the rest of the stuff that made the move this past summer with a garage sale. Therefore no JUNK!!! Chad says I should ask my wife and she'll
Where: The Mustard Seed www.theseed.ca 02 11 Avenue SE (403) 269-1319 When: Friday morning from 6a-10am What: Bring down a Turkey or unwrapped Toy and enter to win a Nintendo Wii, Nickelback tickets, and more!! Why: To make sure everyone in Calgary has a Merry Christmas Who: YOU! We would love to see you out this Friday morning. I have enclosed a list of food the Mustard Seed is looking for their Christmas hampers. Remember every bit makes a HUGE difference. See you Friday morning. Dani The Vibe Morning Show
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I just got back from Vegas, and came home -37!! What the heck is up with that?! Yes, winter is here...and looks like it is going to stay until 2009...which really isn't too far away. Last night I enjoyed some hot chocolate and soup...which always warms me up on a cold winters night. Here are a few other tips to get you warm. I want #3...microwavable foot warmers. 1. The Micro Handy Warmer Cell Phone Strap is more phone charm than hand warmer, but it can be used if you're freezing, even though it's tiny. However, its size makes it great for children (and you can bet they'll be in awe at the way a liquid turns into a hot solid). 2. If you're going to be away, don't let your significant other or kids feel cold and lonely. The Sweet Talking Bear can record and playback a short message and warm up the night with its microwaveable interior bag. 3. Remember what mum said when you were young? Always wear socks and slippers. For many people, these is a must, and not just because they might catch a cold; for many of us, (literally) cold feet means freezing all over. A pair of Cozy Feet Microwavable Foot Warmers could solve the problem, at least for a while. If you can get used to the idea that something that was on your feet will be in the same place as food.
4. The USB Heating Slippers, on the other hand, don't raise this problem. They're perfect for the job... as long as you're stationary. They come with a system that allows them to be detached from the USB port and worn around, but clumsy people should avoid them nonetheless. Good for long computer work nights!
5. But it's not all about computers and we don't have USB ports all over the house. The Snuggie offers a low-tech and very smart heating method: the good ol' blanket, in a new shape. It could be described as a blanket with sleeves or a huge house robe, but the bottom line is the same: you'll be warm and still be able to use your hands.
6. Hand freezing on mouse is a terribly unpleasant sensation, but it's usually unavoidable in cold or drafty rooms. Unless you do something about it, that is. The first solution is an USB Heating Mousepad, which warms up the area around it like a tiny heater and defrosts your hand in the process.
7. The second gadget for the problem has a similar name, USB Warming Mouse Pad, but a very distinctive look: a blue shark that "bites" down on the mouse - hand included. It seems to heat better and it's more fun, but it can also impede movement, so it's your call which of the two seems better.
8. If you don't feel like changing your mousepad, there's still a way to keep your hands warm: USB Heating Gloves. They're fingerless, to keep typing as easy as possible, but also come with a cover for the fingers for more effective heating during breaks.
9. An USB Heated Shawl might sound like a silly idea at first, but that means you've never worked with people who like the keep the window open in winter (or you're one of them). You're at your computer anyway, so why not take advantage of it and power your heat source? It might make you look a bit like grandma, but you'll be so warm you won't care.
10. Finally, for those who stare at the screen more hours than it's comfortable: USB Eye Warmer. If for you resting your eyes involves heat, you're the perfect cadidate for this. A little rest on lunch break and you'll be ready to finish that important project without a headache.
I have to say a BIG thank you to Vibe Morning Show Doggie Doctor Brad Pattison who showed up this morning with gifts for Chad and I. Brad commissioned a local artist...Caroline Stanley...to paint pictures of Chad's bulldog Rufus and my beagle Rudy. She did a fantastic job!!! You can see pictures of her work by checking out her website...www.stanleycaroline.com. Don't forget the new season of Brad's TV show 'At The End Of My Leash' starts tomorrow (December 16th)on the Slice Network.
Yahooooooooooooooooooo! Tomorrow I fly out to Vegas for a few days of fun. The city of sin better be ready!! I know I'm ready for Wayne Newton, slots, cheap shopping, and the food. Hopefully I will come back in one piece, and with 3 new cars?! Dare to dream.
Just found out today that Pepsi is making a new product called 'Pepsi RAW'. They're marketing it as an all natural drink. No preservatives or artificial sweetners. No word on when it will hit Canada...but it raises an interesting dilema for pop drinkers out there. All Natural ingredients (including sugar) or Diet pop (no sugar). I guess water is the only true safe drink out there.
Oh no! IT happened. A good friend of mine, gave me a gift...and I had nothing for her, so I did the old...oh I forgot yours trick. This happens more than you think, it could be a family member/friend/co-worker...so I found some ways to help you out this holiday season if you get an 'unexpected' gift. Here are some suggestions on what do if you get an unexpected gift: - Friend: You can be pretty honest with a true friend. After graciously thanking them for the present, apologize that you don't have anything for them Tell them you're sorry and that you'd love to have them (and possibly a plus one) over for a home-cooked meal of her choosing sometime soon.
Ho ho ho! Yesterday I was hanging out at the Calgary Humane Society for their 29th Annual Christmas Party for the Animals. I wanna thank everyone who braved the crappy weather and made it out. I know the animals/staff/volunteers appreciated it. I feel in love with Ginger the cutest dog, and a cat named "skittles". Thankfully, Skittles was adopted. There are many ways to help the human society out, even if you can't have a pet or you already have a full house, try being a Holiday Hero. They even have "Animal Wish Lists". You can give the gift of shelter, protection, education, comfort, hope, care and sanctuary.
It's a little known fact that our own Chad Martin is quite the dancer. Be sure to check out today's Fuzzytube video of the day to check him out.

The other day some freinds and I were talking about favorite Christmas movies. I was surprised when my wife said Gremlins. When I think about Gremlins...Christmas is the last thing that comes to my mind. Others said Elf, Home Alone, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas...and my personal favorite National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. So what's your favorite Christmas movie. Email me. fuzzy@vibe985.com

So if you have any award winning recipes that you're willing to share...please email them to me. fuzzy@vibe985.com
I am talking CHRISTMAS TREES!! This year, Trump & I are going out to get our first Christmas tree and the debate is....REAL OR FAKE?! Like any man, he says FAKE. I say REAL all the way. I grew up with real trees (think Charlie Brown), and I love them. They way they smell and look. He's 100% set on getting a fake one. I don't know how we will meet on the middle on this one. Any ideas?? dani@vibe985.com
So this past weekend I was informed about a fantastic product called Bacon Salt...bacon flavored seasoning salt! All the bacon flavor and none of the fat. And for you hard core bacon lovers like me...they also have Baconnaise and Baconnaise Lite (Bacon flavored mayo)...and Bacon flavotred lip balm. YUMMMMM!!!Check out thier website www.baconsalt.com.
My friend Jeanette @ Vibe, sent me this email today and I think it's soooooo awesome to see people get behind the true meaning of the holidays. She is behind a new fundraiser called Calgary Street Kids Christmas Stocking Drive, and it is sooooo simple to help out. Calgary Street Kids Christmas Stocking Drive Info:
We are collecting donations of items to put in these stockings which my brother, myself and a few volunteers will be handing out on Christmas Eve. I know this time of year we all get inundated with requests for donations, but if you have items sitting in your closets you're no longer using anyways, why not pass them along to someone who truly could use them? Here is a list of some of the things we're looking for. Anything left over from the drive will be donated to charity. Feel free to drop off items at my desk. Much appreciated, everything helps!!
Hey! It's the most wonderful time of the year! Yes, Christmas time. This year the VIBE MORNING SHOW wants to learn about your culture and the way your family celebrates he holiday season. Do you do something unique? Share it with us. Maybe your family is from Africa, Holland, China, let us know what you do different! The Vibe Morning Show is going to share the spirit of Calgarians and their cultures all holiday season long. Email us your tradition at morningshow@vibe985.com or dani@vibe985.com
So on yesterday's Oprah they talked about ways to save money this holiday season, and one of the ways was the '12 Dates of Christmas'. Instead of buying gifts for each other one couple went on 12 'dates' leading up to Christmas. Unlike Chad & Dani I thought it was a great idea and started compiling a list of 12 possible inexpensive dates.
- Airdrie Festival of Lights
- Heritage Park
- Build a gingerbread house
- the Telus World of Science opens the roof every Friday night for stargazing
- skating
- Build a snowman...we need snow first though
- movie night at home
- romantic diner
- Zoo Lights at the Calgary Zoo
So every single year for the last 6 years Chad, Dani and I have participated in the Mayor's Annual Christmas Food Drive. And every year Mayor Bronco and his team of Brownies win. But this year will be different. Tomorrow morning at 11:45, at the Southcentre Safeway we will take the title...HOPEFULLY! Come down too cheer us on as we help out the Food Bank.

Due to the economic recession, lot's of companies are CUTTING CHRISTMAS PARTIES!! I say, BAH-HUMBUG to that. I think Christmas parties are a time when the company says Thank You to all the employees for their hard work. It's also fun to let loose with your co-workers...and hope no one (at least you) don't get too close to the photocopier. Who doesn't like seeing the boss have one too many egg nogs and sing carols at the top of his lungs?! I know, I do!! When times are tough, it's nice for people to know they are cared for and can go enjoy the holidays with their friends and co-workers. Maybe I can ask Vibe, if we can invite everyone who doesn't have a Christmas party to go to this year, if you can all be my date??? Hmmmm!
For the last few weeks I have been saying that I want to put up my Christmas lights before it gets cold. I actually started talking about doing it back in October during Thanksgiving. Well we're now officially one month away from Christmas and my lights still aren't up. Today might have to be the day though because Mother Nature seems to be participating.
If you have a pet in your house make sure to keep a bottle of HYDROGEN PEROXIDE handy. Yesterday my dog managed to eat poison and apparently the first thing you're supposed to do if this happens is give them HYDROGEN PEROXIDE. It will make them throw up what ever they have eaten. She's fine now...but I just thought I would share that little tip with you to help keep your pets safe.

I mean nothing against cows...but come on. Maybe something stronger like a Rhino...or smart like an Owl. If you had an animal named after you what kind of animal would you want it to be? Email me fuzzy@vibe985.com and let me know.
November 22nd, I am going back home to Saskie for my girlfriends baby shower. I am in charge. This is my first BABY SHOWER!! What do I do? I am charge of games. So this weekend my wife and I are headed to Las Vegas with 2 other couples. The 2 of us are the only Vegas virgins and are wondering what to expect. Will it be the non stop party that I'm hearing about from some people? Or will it be non stop shopping like i'm hearing from a lot of girls.
We don't really have a whole lot planned other than going to see Love...the new Beatles Cirque show.
So what else do we need to do and see when we're there.
Email me fuzzy@vibe985.com

Number one at the box office is Highschool Musical 3, and who wouldn't wanna sing along with Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens?! You can. There is a 'singalong' version coming to theatres November 7th. And best of all, it's coming to Calgary! So you can grab all your friends, and then pick characters...and sing the different parts. I want to be Vanessa Hudgens. I think Fuzzy can be Ashley Tisdale, and Chad can be Zac Efron. It will play in Calgary at Chinook!

This weekend I'm going to a friends party in Medicine Hat. We are having a screening of "Rocky Horror Picture Show" and a fondue party. Mmmm. I love fondue, but she told me that I had to bring weiners to fondue. I thought she was joking, but she's not. I thought at first EWWWWWWWWWWWW....but then listeners called in and said if you batter them...they taste like corn dogs. Who does not like corndogs? Nobody, cause everyone loves them. So I am excited to fondue weiners. Classy. And here is the recipe I am going to try. If you have other ones...email me dani@vibe985.com. Mmmmmmmmm! So, I'm really bummed I missed Oprah yesterday...for one DOCTOR OZ wasn't on, but mainly because they talked about being 'thrifty'. As we all know the US is going thru a recession right now and times are tough, but times are tough here too. Chad & Fuzzy informed me they had the Coupon Mom on. She shops with coupons all the time. For instance, her groceries would regularly cost like $140...she can get them for $40 with coupons!! That is crazy. She says all she does is spend a half hour a week researching coupons and deals. That's awesome! If it's a deal I'm in! I love buying things on sale...or 2 for 1...or even FREE! So here are a few websites for us Canadians to take advantage of.
Ok...so it has been 6 days of veggies, fruit, and pretty much chicken. The cleanse is going ok. Sometimes I find my kidneys hurt...maybe it's just in my head. I'm a big baby, so it could be nothing. I think I have been doing really well. I have not had a cup of coffee, beer, wine...for a week. And if you know me, you know I love my coffee and beer! I must admit...I did crack a bit. This weekend I was at a wedding, and had to eat a few potatoes, prime rib, and half a butter tart! I know. I'm horrible. I even felt bad eating it. Like guilt. But then I think on the other hand, there was an open bar at the wedding, and I resisted, so I think that butter tart was ok. Tomorrow it will be a week...I will let ya know if I have felt any huge differences.
I survived Day ONE!! (INSERT the sound of celebrations for about 10 seconds). Today is WORSE than yesterday. My body is still wondering "ummmmmmmm why can't i get any caffeine"?!?! So, I have had a bad headache the entire day, and felt very sluggish. But so far...I have even turned down French fries and beer! I was curling yesterday, and had the opportunity to enjoy a nice cold one, but skipped out. So on the first day I held out. My other girlfriend who is doing the detox text me this morning saying her friend from out of town came in and took her out for pasta and wine. So, I plan on just neglecting my friends for the next 13 days!! My tv and veggies will be my new BFF's! Time to go drink more water.
Detox Day 1 So I have never done any cleanses or detoxes...but a good girlfriend of mine decided to do one, and after the summer and the way I have been eating, I figured now is the perfect time!! I am doing the "PureBody" cleanse. It's 14 days. So no caffeine, booze, cut back carbs, fruit, veggies, etcetera. Today is DAY ONE. And no coffee...this has been hard. I had a headache early this morning, but when you get up at 3am, you live for coffee to pull you thru some mornings. I am also a CARB overloader. I love my mashed potatoes, French fries, pasta...so not having that every night is going to be hard. Or what about my pizza pops for breakfast? YIKES! You can tell that I need to do this. I will let you know how day two goes...any tips are welcome at dani@vibe985.com.

So, I went back to Saskatchewan to visit some family this past week, and my cell phone died. I expected it to die sooner or later because it had been dropped quite a few times, and everytime I called someone they would be like "DO YOU HAVE MARBLES in your MOUTH"...are YOU SLURRING! Nooooo. So, I think it was a blessing in disguise. So, I had to get a new phone...and opted for Blackberry Pearl. I'm already addicted. I love it! Most of my friends have a blackberry so the messaging is GREAT! I love the voice notes too. My sister and I have mini conversations and work on making accents...it's fun! Try it. Or emailing pictures. Yeah...I can see why they call it a 'crack'berry.
This is such a cool event!! Tomorrow afternoon down on Stephen Ave, they are rolling out the red carpet for "Terry Fox's Bus". www.tourofhope.ca. They found Terry's original bus, and are taking it across Canada showing it off, and raising money for the Terry Fox Fund to beat cancer. You can head down for parade, then after 1-3pm tomorrow at Eau Claire, the bus will be on display, there will be live entertainment and more!
Friday night, I was sitting home alone (Trump was outta town golfing), so I planned on doing some work on the ol' laptop...and BOOM! Crash. Add lightning sound effects, MY COMPUTER CRASHED. I worked on it for an hour. Nothing. I thought I would be ok throughout the weekend cause I was working, but I would find myself shaking...sobbing, and pretending I was checking facebook. Sad. I know. But my laptop has everything...my pictures, facebook *ha, work, etcetra. Everyday I'm on it for at least a couple of hours msn'ing, chatting, checking out gossip rags, and now NOTHING. What do I do?? Go outside and enjoy the weather? That is crazy TALK. Talk to 'people in person'. YIkes.
Ok! Come on, we are like 4 months away until Christmas. AND COSTCO already HAS CHRISTMAS trees out! Is it too soon?? Aren't people just getting back to school supplies?? Or now are people picking up the HB Pencils and fake Christmas trees?? What?? TOO SOON! Have you seen decorations up anywhere else?? Dani "not in xmas spirit til end of nov" Rohs
As most of you know, I am addicted to the Olympics. I can't get enough. GO CANADA!! I'm still hopeful a few medals are headed our way! Maybe, we would have a better chance if they brought some of the old Olympic sports back...take a read. Fun stuff. Like TUG-o-WAR!! WEIRD OLYMPIC EVENTS THAT NO LONGER EXIST - Rope climb (1896, 1904, 1924, 1932): Using only their hands, competitors try to see how fast they can get to the top of the rope.
- One-hand weightlifting (1896): Just like it sounds, athletes were only allowed to use one hand.
- Tug-of-war (1900-1920): Two teams of eight try to pull a rope six feet; if neither team reaches the mark after five minutes, the team that pulls the farthest wins.
- Underwater swimming (1900): Swimmers were awarded points for how far they went and how long they stayed under water.
- Swimming obstacle race (1900): Racers had to swim through the River Seine, climb up and down a pole, then go over and under several boats.
- Live pigeon shooting (1900): The birds were released and shooters tried to kill as many as possible.
- Rugby union (1900, 1908-24): One of the most popular team sports in the world still waiting to get back into the Olympics.
- 56-pound weight throw (1904, 1920): A 56-pound weight affixed with a handle that's thrown over a pole vault bar.
- All-around dumbbell contest (1904): Competitors performed 10 different lifts with dumbbells over two days.
- Club swinging (1904): Similar to rhythmic gymnastics, only the competitors swing clubs around their bodies.
- Plunge diving (1904): From a standing position, divers see how far they can go without taking a stroke.
- Duelling pistol (1906): Shooters fired at mannequins wearing frock coats and bull's-eyes on their chests.
- Motor boating (1908): Three categories of races in boats; IOC later decided against allowing anything with a motor.
NEW EVENTS IN THE 2008 BEIJING GAMES
I don't know about you, but when I see a falling star I ALWAYS make a wish...or two or three. Of course I can't tell you what they are, or they won't come true...but this week you may see many shooting stars. It's the annual Perseid meteor shower. If you missed seeing a shooting star once every minute, you're not out of luck, yet. For the next week, you can sit under cloudless night skies and count your lucky stars. Patience is a virtue. The best viewing is from 2 am to dawn, away from city lights. These tiny meteors are actually dust particles from the tail of the Swift-Tuttle comet. Every year at this time, the earth's orbit passes through the comet's tail. What results is small particles burning up in our atmosphere. It lights up the sky. Once a minute, there's another falling star!!
Ahhhhhhhhh. The Olympic's are on!!! I am an Olympic nerd. I think it has something to do with the fact that I grew up in Handel, SK...wtih 2 stations, so when the Olympics came on, it was a BIG DEAL! 2008 Summer Games are on right now in Beijing. Yesterday, I watched for probably 6 hours...I know. I love the little stories about the athletes, and I love Ron McLean. I think he does an amazing job commentating and has such a great personality! He is my CBC crush. So, I found a few fun facts about him that I thought I would share...so you can use them and creep out your coworkers like I do with Chad and Fuzzy....

The last time I painted I was about 6 and using paint by numbers. Well, yesterday I decided I was going to paint an old bench my mom gave me. So I went to Rona, picked out the colours...then asked the guy behind the paint counter...UMM i need these colours. ha. I had no clue how to do it. Thankfully he was nice enough to help me out. Something about a semi-gloss is what I needed. Yesterday I gave the bench two coats of a chocolate brown called "Craven". I think it will need at least 3 coats...not 100% sure. Then I am going to do the trim in something called "indian gem", it's a funky teal blue. I will post pictures of my Picasso masterpiece once I finish. I hope I'm doing it right. They should have paint by numbers for adults!!

I don't know if your like me but sometimes in life you have to make those TOTALLY awkward and uncomfortable phone calls. Maybe it's breaking up or cancelling plans. Sometimes all you wanna do is just leave a message. That way it's done and dealt with! A new company in the US is allowing you to do just that. "SLY DIAL" will go STRAIGHT to the person's voice mail. Who would you want to use this on?? Maybe your boss to call in sick? Cancelling plans with a friend? Would you even use this service, or just be a grown up and deal with whoever you don't want to talk to?! Hmmm. It's an interesting idea. Right now in the US, the # is 267-SLY-DIAL! Email me what you think on this! dani@vibe985.com.
Yesterday we headed out to RAFT THE BOW! Since I am blogging this right now, you know I made it alive. Wow. It was sooooooooo much fun. WE had about 13 people in 2 rafts, the weather was fantastic, and the water was beautiful. The river was going quite fast so we were done our trip in about 4 hours. I can't wait to go again! Next time I will know to make sure to put stuff in zip lock bags though, and rub my sunscreen in! I look like a lobster, but only in a few spots. Pretty! d
This weekend will be my very first RAFT down the Bow! I am nervous but so excited. I will be taking all the safety precautions lifejacket, etcetra. There is a group of about 10 of us headed out for the afternoon. I can't wait! I plan to take my book...and relax. The boys can oar. You know I will post lots of pictures from my first raft down the mighty bow!! If your rafting this weekend mind, please be safe. Bylaw officers will be out in full force this weekend handing out tix! SO BE SAFE! And stay away from the weir!
Yesterday, Jarrod the Giant and I headed to the Talismen for a fun "media" game with the 2008 Canadian Olympic Water polo team. I have never played water polo before, so I was pretty nervous. First off, I need to give props to the team. WOW! Sooooooo nice. The guys introduced themselves as I tried not to stare at their speedo's (Which looked damn fine). At first I put on the float belt (the thing that holds you up in the water) because I didn't think I would be able to tread water for that long, and then decided against it...because fashion wise it was pretty dorky. I was on the whitecap team and Jarrod was on the blue team. It was sooo fun! I even scored a few goals. One was two handed (but don't tell anyone). Your only suppose to use one hand.
I found the coolest charity website that I have seen in a long time. Head to charityfolks.com. This is where you can bid on the coolest things, like what teeny bopper wouldn't want to hang out with the Jonas Brothers. Or head to So You think you Can Dance FINALE! All proceeds from these fun experiences get donated to the hurricane relief fund. Now, be prepared things don't go cheap. Golfing with Morgan Freeman went for over $49,000!! But what a cool experience. You can find anything on the site though. I just saw 2 VIP tix to a taping of Ellen DeGeneres for $600.00. Or you can head to Deal or NO Deal, for $1000! You name it you can get it. I am going to start saving my money now.
I am frustrated!! With what, that would be my hair. It's at the point where I either need to a) GROW IT OUT or b) Shave it off...okay maybe not but cut it short. Don't you hate the ugly hair stage. Its like a beatles shag on top of my head. How sexy! Thankfully it's summer and I can get away with wearing a hat...I just blame the sun. Ohhhhhhhhhh the sun is in my eyes, I must wear this hat to hide my scary hair. Should I just pull a Brit Brit and shave it off? Nah. I think I will just relax, take a deep breath, and get a trim. Or extensions put in!
WOW! Time flys when your stampeding that is for sure. I can't believe this is the last weekend of Stampede. Booooooooooooo. I hope you have had the chance to make your way down to the grounds. If you haven't and are going down here are a few things I reccomend! #1. Fresh Cut Fries-mmmmmmmmm. Always a good choice. Unlike the pizza on a stick! #2. Crazy Mouse Ride-This one even my stomach can handle. It's worth the wait in line...and they take your picture so you can have a lovely souvenier of you screaming your face off! #3. Chuckwagons/Rodeo-So much fun. Even if your not a real 'cowgirl' you will have a blast. Plus, lots of cute Wrangler butts to drive you nuts!
Avril Lavigne to Will Smith here's a list of the TEN WORST LYRICS of ALL TIME! Gives me hope that someday I could make millions by being a songwriter. Anyothers you think should be on the list? Email me dani@vibe985.com The Ten Worst Lyrics of All Time: - "I'm serious as cancer, when I say rhythm is a dancer" -- "Rhythm Is A Dancer" by Snap!
- "I don't want to see a ghost, it's a sight that I fear the most, I'd rather have a piece of toast, watch the evening news" -- "Life" by Des'ree
- "Is that yo ass, or yo mama half reindeer?" -- "Shake Ya Tailfeather" by Nelly, P Diddy and Murphy Lee
- "He was a boy, she was a girl.
This past weekend was the annual Rohs Stampede breakfast. Pancakes, coffee and beily's, and CHERRY PIT SPITTING CONTEST! Now, if your thinking what the heck is this...it's annual tradition (I guess?!) for the Rohs family. You take a cherry...then eat it...but not the pit...then see how far you can spit it. I got 2nd. My cousin Maria (THE CHAMP) spit her pit all the way to Okotoks. It's fun. We also did an accuracy round. I missed. It's easy and all you need is cherries and the pits. So get your family together and reccomend a cherry pit spitting contest. Wow. Try saying that 3 times in a row.
Rides, Carnies, Beer Gardens, Coke Stage...it's back the most wonderful time of the year. STAMPEDE! It all starts tonight at 5pm with Sneak-a-Peek. This is great night to take the family because you can get in for $7! Always nice to have some spare change to try some of the new food this year...like the BEEF SUNDAE, or TACO IN A BAG??? I am making sure to bring lot's of rolaids. Also don't forget the COKE Stage is going to rock tonight. Vibe is proud to have our $100,000 Star Search Winners on JOSHUA'S HABIT on stage, plus Seventh Rain and Faber Drive. Joshua's Habit take to the stage at 8pm!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrr. For the past month I have been sick on and off! Yesterday I was up at the crack of dawn with heat rash/stroke. Whatever it was it was not pleasant. So if your planning on doing a lot of stampedeing in the heat coming up. Take my advice. SUNSCREEN! Water. SHADE. You don't want to be naseous for 2 days and have a heat rash. It's not fun at all. Time to take some benadryl! BlAH!!
So, I just got back from a week in lovely Radium area camping. IT was soooooooo much fun. We had great weather and all came back with some lovely burns! We hiked, drank cold beers, hit the hot springs, white water rafted...but the scariest thing was probably "the Radium wood carver". He lives in a wood shack with goats and carves with saws...things like owls and gnomes!!! Chad & Fuzzy are quite scared of him. I reccomend going in next time...for the experience. And hopefully you will get out alive. I did. http://www.radiumwoodcarver.com/
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Canada. We look pretty good for being 141 years old. If your looking for some fun in the city tomorrow here is a little bit of a low down of what is happening. Prince's Island Park-11am-7pm. You can head there and check out preformers like "Black Powder Dancers", "Passion for Tango" and more. Fireworks will go off at 10:45pm. Fort Calgary is also offering a bunch of bday festivities...including a free pancake breakfast at 9am. Plus pony rides, face painting, bouncy houses, petting zoo's and crafts. Heritage Park has a wide range of stuff for everyone aged 1-101! This is cool a western version of Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew" will be performed there.
So let's celebrate! Yes, I am off until July 2nd. I am going to be doing lots of suntanning *weather premitting*, camping, and white water rafting! I am nervous and excited about the white water rafting, and will make sure to take lots of pictures!! Have a great week! dani
Now...I have never given birth but listen to this: Norah Jones will be featured on a compilation of music for pregnant women who are going into labor. Stork Tunes: Songs For A Happy Birth Day is designed to not only help women relax during labor, but also provide music to enjoy with their babies as they grow. For more go to storktunes.com. Other artists include Celine Dion, Raffi, and the Dixie Chicks. Do women really want to hear RAFFI or Celine when in labour?? Wouldn't it be more like Metallica or AC/DC...some angry music to help you push?? What song would have helped you. Email me dani@vibe985.com
I'm soooooooo excited for the golfing season. But first off let me say this...I'm not very good. Or good at all. But I love the sport. I just got new clubs for my bday so tonight will be my first time this year trying them out! I'm nervous and excited. Amber Lee and I are going together. She is a great little golfer. So hopefully she can give me a few tips and hints. The one good thing I do have is a loud voice...so I can yell FORE...for other people b/c usually I dont hit the ball that far! I will let you know tomorrow how the golf was!!

The 80s are coming back...but did they ever go away?? A few years ago Cabbage Patch Kids were the hot item....now people are wearing the skinny jean again and the crazy coloured make up. I will leave the skinny jean and blue eyeshadow to you guys it just doesnt work well one me...but i'm stoked about my fave 80s child TV shows making there way to the big screen. A few weeks ago we told you FRAGGLE ROCK was coming to the big screen. I loved FRAGGLE ROCK! I soooooooo wanted to be one as a kid...live in their funky underground town. Someday I will become a Fraggle. So that is super RAD (gotta use the 80s terms).
Chinese food does not make me sick... But yes. NEW KIDS are coming to CALGARY! I am totally GEEKED for the show. Back in the 80's and 90's I was a MASSIVE NKOTB fan. I had the watch, the pillow case, and even all the New Kids dolls. This is something I should NOT be telling anyone but I even had the tail. Yes. Your saying A TAIL?? HAIR TAIL. A few of the members had them...they were also known as 'tags' back in the day. My fave member was Jordan....so dreamy. So if you are a NEW Kid geek like me...mark it down November 19th-dome. Tix on sale this Monday. Do you think I should have a tail again for the show?? Hmmm.
Let's hope the rain is gone for a few days so we can get back to this thing called "SUMMER"!!! Everyone is asking me, what are my plans for the summer. So far, one big trip is planned and that is the 2008 Girls Whitewater Rafting trip. A bunch of girlfriends are getting together and heading to Kicking Horse to camp/raft. I have never been white water rafting but it looks amazing!! And scary. And me in a wet suit, that is SCARY. I want to hit a few fun lakes around Calgary and area....but don't really know any good ones. So, here is where I need your help...tell me what lake you reccomend and why. I am not picky I just want to check out some of my options. Heck, I have camped in a field before back in Saskie. Email me your faves at dani@vibe985.com.
It is that time of year where Grade 12 students are buzzing because they are getting ready to start their lives! Now, I remember when I was in Grade 12 it was called Graduation...and in the states it was always Prom. But is it now PROM here in Canada too?? I notice ton's of advertising saying not 'grad dresses' but 'prom dresses'. Or is it both?? Our theme was "Save the Best for Last". And our grad song was Vanessa Williams...you guessed it Save the Best For Last. Wow. How bad and cheesy is that!! Good ol' Handel, SK grad...which was actually a lot of fun. Or prom. Or the day you get your diploma. ha. Either way to all those graduating in 2008 have a FUN SAFE GRAD...or PROM. Either way you get to dress up fancy, hang with your friends, get ready to start a new chapter, and YOU GET PRESENTS!! yeah. So grad or prom. Either way...I think we should go with present day!
Another year older another year wiser! That is what they say!! So far I have got a lovely card from my grandma and grandpa Rohs and a some amazing flowers. I have never got flowers from a man before! I know. You would think that this sort of stuff happens to me ever day. ha. I just want to thank everyone for all the lovely wishes, and here is to more face cream under the eyes, more working out, and going to bed even earlier. Or not! ha.
OH YES! It's MAY LONG BABY!! One of my fave weekends of the entire year. Not only is SUMMER closer to an official start, but you pull out the camping gear and get out of the city for a few days. I usually go May Long camping every year...except this year. The one time it's gonna be nice out on May long. Last year I woke up in my tent...and it was SNOWING. It was still fun, but -10 camping is not as good as +25! Just make sure if you are heading out this long weekend to do some camping, don't be a loser...respect the camp site. Clean up!!! Every year there is that group of people who trash a campsite/ground..don't DO IT. What is the point? Really. Your just ruining for fun for everyone else who is trying to have a good time. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Yep! Supermodel Rachel Hunter is in Calgary shooting a made for TV movie. Yesterday she was at the U of C, in a hot pink dress, nine INCH (owie) heels, and sassy fake eyelashes...she plays a Go Go Girl! I guess she was dancing in the basement of a pub on campus. The movie will air on Movie Central and W Network August 16th. Rachel is dating one of the hottest hockey players (even though he plays for the Oilers) Jarret Stoll! Mmmmmmmm. So perhaps if your on 17th having a beer and you see someone in an Oilers jersey and 9 INCH heels it could be Rachel Hunter. Or maybe Jarret Stoll...but let'
And keep your clothes on. Well you can. Universal Music is looking for the next YOUNG star. SO if your UNDER the age of 15 (Amber Lee you can't apply), then you can. You could win a record contract, and be on a cool summer reality show called "Instant Star". Auditions will begin this spring and will be coming to Calgary, and as soon as we find out the date...we will let you know! And if you see Amber Lee auditioning make sure you remind her that the cut off is 15!!
Steak, potatoes, corn on the cob! OHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I love BBQ'ing. Mmmmmm. Tonight we are putting the new BBQ to the test. I took out steak...9 by accident, so I will be getting my fill! Summer is all about the food on the BBQ. My mouth is watering just thinking of all the yummy foods. My fave is potatoes/mushrooms/carrots in tinfoil. What are your fave BBQ recipies?? Email me, I'm willing to try anything on the BBQ...even pancakes! dani@vibe985.com

WOW! I just got my new Jeep (if you need a vehicle go see my friend Aaron at Tower...there is a shameless plug if I have ever seen one). I got a 2008 Black Jeep Liberty. I have never owned a BRAND new...ANYTHING!! Im so excited. Yesterday I was getting the rundown on how the blue toothworks. THis has to be the COOLEST thing ever. I'm on Crowchild...talking to my sister but NOT holding my phone. I wanted to be on the phone the entire time. Plus, I was not distracted holding the phone, and driving, it was great!! I love blue tooth. I can't believe I have been missing out on this for so long. Ohhhhhhhhh and air conditioning. That's fun too!
Ok. So I have seen cats at work places, dogs, fish...but have you ever heard of a BEAVER at work. Well, at my boyfriends office, they have a baby BEAVER. Yep. His boss was out beaver hunting last month in Saskatchewan and one of the beavers was pregnant and they had to do an emergency c-section to save the babies, and that is what they did! The rest of the baby beavers are in Saskatchewan, but this one special one "Woody" is at my boyfriends office! Can you imagine a BABY beaver at work. He sent me pictures, but they aren't that good, so I am going to go meet "Woody" on Thursday and take some good ones. He is sooooooo cute (from the picture and I love any baby animals except snakes). What are they going to do wtih this beaver when it gets older. Not sure? Keep it in the tub and and give it some twigs and branches to make a dam? I have a friend who has a pet raccoon in Saskie, but a baby Beaver. What is next a baby buluga?? Isnt' there a song about that!
Today is the day. If everything goes right, I will behind the wheel of my new JEEP! I am sooooooooo excited. I have never had a 'new' vehicle before. My first truck was a hand me down from my dad that had over 350,000 km's on it, but still it was free so I'm not complaining. Then 2nd was a car I have now. Let's just say it wasn't nice to me. Stranding me on Highway 11 due to a faulty fuel pump more than once, and this was before I even had a cell phone. Awwwwww. good times. I am sad to see it go today. I will miss it's missing side mirror, and shady hubcaps. Bye bye piece of poop car. BRING on the shiny new one!! I will post tomorrow about how my first day went w/the new Jeep.
Don't know what to get your #1 mom this year for Mother's Day?? Here is a really neat idea. For $30 your mom can have a picture with Alberta Guide Dog Services...the CUTEST puppies ever. And all money raised goes towards Alberta Guide Dog Services. They are so cute. For more info you can call 258-0819.
Well it's almost 5 AM as I write this and today we get to interview PEREZ Hilton. I'm soooooo excited. His blog is one of my fave's. Everyday I go to catch up on the latest Miley Cyrus debauchary and other celebs. www.perezhilton.com. I thought I would share a few more of my fave sites with you. *Great way to pass time at work*!! #1. www.Stuffonmycat.com This has been a fave of mine ever since it launched. Who doesnt like seeing cats wearing clothing and weird objects!! Everyone does. I even have a daily calender on my desk. It makes me smile everday.
This Sunday...according to Enivornment Canada Weather, it's gonna be a day to get outside! And that is perfect for the Bell Walk for Kids at Eau Claire. Chad and Fuzzy will be out at the event, and all money will go towards the Kids Help Phone. Last year alone over 20,000 WALKERS raised over $3 MILLION dollars. That is amazing. Let's hope this year we can do even better. To find out how you can walk and help kids www.bellwalkforkids.ca.
Need a good laugh?! They say that laughter is the best medicine....so you might want to check out FUNNYFEST....Calgary Comedy Festival. It starts May 1st goes until the 11th. And they have everything from Comedy for the Kids, to comedians at the Zoo, Deerfoot Inn. It's huge. And it's all run by volunteers.
Check it out at: www.funnyfest.com.
Finally with the nice weather here, I am excited to get outdoors and enjoy it! Yesterday, I was driving past Bowness park, and can't wait to go hiking, biking, and even have a picnic. So, being relatively new to the city (a year), I was wondering what your fave outdoor spots are in Calgary?! Do you have a gem of your own that you wanna share? Hit me up. Dani@vibe985.com and just maybe I will let you have a sandwich if I run into you while I am having a picnic.
Ahhhhhhhhh. The weekend is here! Put your feet up and RELAX...well, maybe not. Your going to see Vibe EVERYWHERE this weekend. Today I am off to the Deerfoot Inn & Casino to win some big bucks...well actually to host DIVAS & DIAMONDS 3. Its going to be a blast. Its a fun afternoon for bosses to give their admin assistant to take in music, comedy, food, oh AND WIN DIAMONDS!! Tomorrow don't forget it's the Calgary Women's Show-happening at the Round Up Centre. Always soooooooo much fun. I think last year I bought a purse, make up (Chad & Fuzzy) called stripper dust, and the infamous 'sheewee'. ITs a contrapation for us ladies to use so we can pee standing up. What will we find at the Womens show this year?! Plus, don't forget its Chad vs Fuzzy Charity Challenge #3 at the Womens show "FREE FOOT RUBS"...starting at noon Saturday they will be rubbing feet!! May the best foot rubber win.
Last week the Vibe Morning Show joined a ton of media down at the Calgary Food Banks "Empty Bowl" Benefit. This is where we get to design/paint bowls and then you lovely people can bid on them with all proceeds towards the Calgary Inter-faith Food Bank. It was a ton of fun. And it goes to a great cause. Chad made some sponge paint bowl from 1994, Fuzzy the "bacon and egger bowl" and mine is the SPITTER SPLATTER bowl. To take a look at my bowl hit here! Thank you so much for helping the food bank!!
SO our boss Stew came up with a list of rules that the boys MUST follw this Saturday for Challenge #3. And here they are. What do you think?! Let me know!! #1. The foot rub must not last longer than 5 MINUTES but MUST last at LEAST 98 seconds. #2. You may only get ONE foot rub. So that means you can't keep going back. Just one. I'm sure that will be enough. #3. Both feet MUST be rubbed...including TOES. #4. Gloves may be used if the persons feet are questionable. NO turning ANYONE away. #5. Lotions and oils are allowed. BUT NO SPA KITS! #6. Feet must be BARE...no socks!!
Ok. So in my last blog I talked about all the cool events happening TODAY for Earth Day! I hope you check out a few...and remember to recycle. I have a list of the Top 15 celebs that are green. So the earlier today I logged on to YouTube looking for another FuzzyTube video of the day. And to my surprise I found out that the video for Challenge #1 (Syncro or Swim) in the Chad vs. Fuzzy $10,000 Charity Challenge is the 80th most viewed video in all of Canada for the week. Pretty cool. Don't forget that by forwarding the video to your friends thought the link on our website could win you $5000. And be sure to check out the next video that will be up on Monday for Challenge #2 So You Think You Can Dance.
Yesterday, women had first learned of the potential danger of exposure to Bisphenol-A (BPA). Now, they'd like more answers and how to avoid the harmful chemical. Even when toddlers are exposed to low levels of BPA, there can be changes in their prostate and mammary glands. Cancer may result. BPA is used in water bottles, children's toys, and on the inside of soda cans. Reducing your exposure won't be easy, but here are a few ways to avoid the risk: - Do not heat hard polycarbonate plastics (Nalgene bottles, baby bottles and sippy cups) or use them for warm liquids - Do not wash polycarbonate plastic containers in the dishwasher - Reduce your use of canned food. Bisphenol A (BPA) has been found in the lining of canned food tins - Look for BPA-free toys, baby bottles and food containers. They may be slightly more expensive, but parents say they're worth the additional
If your a parent, or even have a younger kid in your life you know who the Wiggles are. They are in town tonight for 2 shows...and get ready to ROCK your socks off. Tickets are still available for the shows...you can head to www.ticketmaster.ca. We chatted with the Purple Wiggle Jeff...and he taught us how to sing their #1 hit with kids under 6 called "Hot Potato" pretty much that's the only words in the song. No wonder kids love them. They can remember the words, EVEN I can!! Hot Potatoe, Hot Potatoe. I was reading up on these dudes, and listen to this...they are from Australia and MAKE MORE MONEY THAN AC/DC and NICOLE KIDMAN COMBINED! I need to start a children's group.
Tuesday is the day when new cd's/dvd's hit stores, and today a HUGE one comes out...JUNO! Now, I saw this movie and it is amazing. If you have a quirky sense of humor, you will love it. I will probably pick it up on my way home from work. But...there is another movie that I am embarrassed to say I sort of want to see. The Hannah Montana movie. WHY?? I don't know! What is wrong with me? Shouldn't only 13 year old girls and boys be into Miley Cyrus. YIKES! I should also pick up an issue of J14 magazine too and Teen Beat. What is it about the Hannah/Miley craze that has pulled me in.
WOW!! What a game last night. I was pretty freaked out after the first 3 and a half minutes and we were down 3 nothing. But our boys made a huge comeback. I love seeing this city get into playoff fever. It's AWESOME! I think the hot new hair do is the "faux hawk" which has been dubbed the jerome hawk. If you got some sweet hair, I think GIRLS and guys should rock it. Tomorrow morning we will be chowing down on some SHARK with Hotel Arts and Kelly Doody from the Sun. SHould be fun. I'm bringing my appetite. Just like the Flames did last night!!
Alright. As you know it's Chad vs Fuzzy $10,000 Charity Challenge. Yesterday was challenge #1. SYNCHRO or SWIM. We headed out to the Talismen Centre and teamed up with the Calgary Aquabelles, and both Chad and Fuzzy had to perform a synchronized swimming routine. So we all knew that Fuzzy couldn't swim, but thankfully the talented staff at Talismen helped Fuzzy with a few float belts and water wings. Fuzzy did great...but I also saw something I hope to never see again. CHAD in a SPEEDO! It's not that Chad doesn't have a nice body to pull of a speedo. BUT, it's like seeing your brother in one. NOT NICE! To much skin. WAY WAY WAY too much. Thankfully he went for the boxer brief speedo, but my eyes are still burning from seeing his white and pasty skin.
Today is D-Day. Or SWIM day for Fuzzy and Chad. IT's Challenge #1 in the Chad vs Fuzzy $10,000 Charity Challenge. Later on today we will be heading down to the Talismen Centre where Fuzzy and Chad will each do a mini routine with the Calgary Aquabelles!! So which one will be a better synchro swimmer?? I think I am going to have to put my money on Chad, seeing as Fuzzy does not even know how to swim. I hope they have extra lifeguards on hand today @ Talismen. Rumor also has it that Chad will be showing up in a SPEEDO!! I am scared. Very. But they are both braver than most. The good thing about this $10,000 Charity Challenge the boss has come up with, is that every SINGLE challenge will be video taped...and put on you tube. So you won't miss a moment. Such as Chad's wardrobe malfunction with his speedo and fuzzy getting mouth to mouth from a life guard!
Ok. I will admit this, I have a few unpaid City of Calgary parking tickets in my glove box. I know I know. I should pay them, because now they are $$$$$!!! Well...now they have finally decided you can pay online...which is much more handy than driving downtown looking for a parking spot. www.calgaryparking.com! SO, today I plan on paying my outstanding tickets. Oh JOY! I will let ya know how much they are. SCARY! d
WOW! What an amazing weekend. I think our city put on a fantastic awards show, proving to everyone that yes...Calgary is the best city in the world. Congrats to our hometown girl Fiest, taking home 5 awards.
Pretty much everywhere you went in the city you would find a party! I want to thank the boys of Faber Drive especially Faber, for hooking me up with passes to the Rockstar Hotel party. Wow. It was crazy. There were ton's of different rooms with FREE swag. My fave room was the Adidas room..I got free sneaks. All the big names were upstairs...like K-os, Hedley, Jully Black, The Calgary Flames! IT was soooooo insane. I think I am still recovering this morning. Ouch.
Well we have no clue of what the boss has planned for us on Monday morning. I guess he's tired of the back and forth fighting between me & Chad. I don't see what the big deal is it was all in good fun and once Chad can admit he took his April Fools joke too far we can be friends again;-)...just kidding everything between me and Chad is cool...he just has to be ready for me to get my revenge. (insert evil laugh here)

I am sooooooo excited for the Juno's this weekend!! The musicians, the awards, and the parties! I went and saw our Vibe Fashionista Kim Stern at Boutik yesterday and she hooked me up with the sweetest little purple dress ever!! It's soooooooooo cute. I usually don't wear dresses, but this one rocks. I can't wait to show it off at the awards and the Rockstar hotel party. I will take ton's of pictures...for proof that I am wearing a dress. My most fond memory was in grade 6...I decided to saran wrap the teachers toliet at school...there was only one (remember I grew up in a town of 12 people and we had like 70 students from k-12). So I saran the toliet thinking ha ha ha ha. WEll the principal comes into my homeroom...Mrs. Thunderchild, she had her coat around her waist and asked to see me in the office. Oh oh. I think. But am also thinkin YES!! I got her. She has pee on her. he he he.
Have you ever pranked a co-worker. Well around the station it has become a tradition to punk someone who goes away on vacation. I'm looking for some good ideas to get Chad & Dani. Email me at fuzzy@vibe985.com.
WOW! It's been a crazy few months, and I'm getting ready to take some R & R! As of 9:01 today, I am on holidays! I am doing a whirlwind tour....Edmonton...North Battleford, SK...Saskatoon, SK, and then VANCOUVER! I am so excited to go to Vancouver as I have never been. I am going to ride whales and eat sushi. Mmmmmmmmm. And shop. I will be back to talk about my adventures on March 31st! Until then. Aloha. Bonjour? Goodbye!
Well Thursday morning after the show The Vibe Morning Show is going road trippin'. Let the fun begin, as long as we keep the windows cracked:-)
Nooooooo, I am not trying out for the 2010 Olympics. But this Monday I am going to Vancouver for the first time ever. Believe it or not, I have never even SEEN the ocean. So I am sooooooo excited. (That sounds really redneck doesn't it). So any tips on what I NEED to do in Van?? Email me. Dani@vibe985.com. Can I ride whales???
YES! Get ready to show off your hot moves...I only have 2...#1. The Running Man and #2. The Shopping cart! But if you think your the hottest dancer in the city, you can PROVE IT. So You Think You Can Dance Canada is holding auditions here in Calgary May 12th at 9am at Mac Hall. So get your spandex on, do your stretches and see you there! For more info. http://www.dance.ctv.ca/
Ok. Is this TOO good to be TRUE? A cd that makes you slim just by listening to it...well...www.skinnysongs.com! There is a cd you can buy with songs like "Skinny Jeans", "I'm A Hottie Now", "Thin!", and more. SO, I think I need to drop a few pounds for bikini season, so if you see my with my window down...and me singing along to "Skinny Jeans", lets hope I can fit into that bikini. Dani
All this week we are giving away the new perfume from Lise Watier "Desireable"...it smells amazing. It's my new fave perfume. Everyone compliments me on it, and even some sexy men. Ok...well it's a website by the company called www.areyoudesireable.com. Click on the sexy man poems, and you can also forward them to your friends!!! A good way to waste some time at work instead of doing spreadsheets. And look for the perfume in your fave store!! d
It's ONE, TWO, THREE STRIKES your out...wait. No. You want strikes. It's back once again BOWL for Kids helping support Big Brothers and Sisters. You still have time to get your team of 4 in...www.bowlforkidscalgary.com. We had Jeremy on the show today talking about the event, and it's sooooooo much fun! You can dress up, they have live dj's, celeb MC's, prizes, pizza, beer, and MORE. This year they are even giving away WEST JET flights. Sooo get your team together and come enjoy a fab night of fun!! If you want to call to enter your team 338-1192. Oh!! And Jeremy told me that there are a few firefighter/police nights. IN UNIFORM. I bet they still look sexy in bowling shoes!
Today, we had the lovely Cheryl from the Calgary Humane Societ on our show...talking about an odd pet up for adoption. A SHARK! Yes, they have a shark looking for a home that goes by the name "Baby". He can grow up to ONE METRE long, so he needs a family with a big tank that can fit him. She said my bathtub probably wouldn't work. If your a fish lover you can call her at 205-4455, or head to calgaryhumane.ca.
For the last few weeks I have been getting bad headaches...first the right side of my head then the left! So, today I go and get my eyes checked. I am thinking with all the time I spend hanging on the computer working REALLY hard (Facebook), my eyes need to be checked up on. I have never had glasses...or contacts, so I am a tad nervous, but hopefully this will be the problem behind my headaches! Should I get bifocals?! I just hope the headaches go away! dani
So this past weeken I went to the Home & Garden Show where they had this fancy toilet seat that heats up and has a special hose that washes your "business". When you think about it no toilet paper being used is very friendy to the environment. It might be woth a try.

Monday...MARCH 24th. I will be at home in front of the TV...getting ready for Season 3 of the HILLS! Why do I love this show. Not sure. It's my guilty pleasure. I think I lose all sense of reality when I watch it, and pretend I'm in LA with girls. (Ok that sounds a bit creepy). But for you Hills fans out there....here is some juice! MTV is offering fans a sneak preview of the upcoming bonus episodes of The Hills, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The bonus segments, debuting March 24th, will begin with Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port's trip to Paris to work for Teen Vogue. The Los Angeles-based story line featuring Heidi Montag and boyfriend Spencer Pratt will also advance. Conrad announced that MTV was ordering eight more episodes of The Hills during the show's third-season finale on December 11th, which attracted an audience of 4.7 million viewers.
Well now you can! Paris Hilton is launching a new reality show, as she treks around the country trying to find a new BFF! What would it like to be Paris' BFF...you would get free clothes, hang out with celebs, do karokee to "Stars Go Blind". I'm not sure I could do it. But if you could be BFF's with one celeb...who would it be?! I would like to hang out with Jessica Biel...cause then you could be close to Justin, and she seems cool...email your celeb bff and why at dani@vibe985.com!
Wow I don't know if anyone is watching the live feeds of Big Brother 9 or not...but trust me when I say it is scandalous. They've taken a bunch of horny rabbits and put them in a room with booze. Again WOW.
And what about tonight's Moment of Truth...you would think that if you were going to ruin your marriage on national TV you would at least make some money off of it. She walked away with NOTHING...YIKES...
8 hours of pre show and then an award show that ran for just under 4 hours...way to much oscar coverage...the only highlights were the guys from Superbad presenting...Jon Stewart's baby award...and the Gary Busey fiasco on the red carpet (which is today's Fuzzytube video)...at least award shows are almost done for a while now...
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh it's already FRIDAY! What a lovely short work week!! FOR YOU?! Today, I have to go to a place where I dread...THE DENTIST. Insert Dani SCREAMING like a little kid. I still have 2 wisdom teeth that need to get pulled, and a cracked molar, oh and a cleaning. What an awesome Friday. Why did I book this appointment on a FRIDAY!?!? I should have booked it on a Monday, then took the rest of the week off to recover!! I hope your weekend goes better than mine...can someone pass the floss?! d
Lately, everytime I talk to my dad or a friend...I get this "WHY DO you have MARBLES in your mouth". I don't...that is just dangerous. It's my cell phone, which happens to also be my home phone. There are WAY too many phones to pick from. Do I really NEED a blackberry, or do I just WANT one. Just so I can facebook?! Grrrrrrrrr. I am going to the mall today, and hopefully will have an answer, or will continue to be known as Marble Mouth!
Dani
Earlier this week we had the lovely Trish Magwood from the Food Network stop by and talk about pairing coffee with food...such as steak...nuts. And more! If you want to spice or COFFEE up your dishes head to this site... www.melittametime.ca

I've got to say a big thanks to Haitham and Hansa from Edible Arrangement for making sure I had a great gift for my wife this Valentines Day. Being the procrastinator that I am I put it off until this morning and they managed to come through.
Today marks the 20th Anniversary of the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics! Calgary has changed so much in the past 20 years, but without the '88 Olympics...we wouldn't have Nikiska, The Dome, and of course those vintage Sun Ice coats! If you want to relive the era of Eddie the Eagle and Elizabeth Manley, then head to COP TONIGHT! Starting at 5pm...they will kick off the big celebrations. Plus, the first 2000 people down to COP tonight get to SKI for FREE!! Maybe Eddie the Eagle can teach me a few things! Dani p.s. Does anyone have a Vintage '88 Sun Ice Coat size medium. Just for my collection! ha ha!
I don't know about you, but this time of the year is an excuse for me to go overboard on all the Valentines Day goodies. One of my fave candies...is the infamous "Candy Hearts", with sayings. Like I love you. Or Bite Me. Well, now you can personalize your candy hearts...and they have no calories...so SEND as many as you want! Send one to your boyfriend, best friends, trainer, boss...ok maybe not your boss...but have fun designing your own. Candy Hearts! Make yours here!
If your not feeling the love or you already have a love but some dude/dudette (is that a word), keeps creeping on you at the bar and won't give it up. I've got a website that can help you out.
www.rejectionhotline.com
The Rejection Hotline®
The dating scene is full of people who can't take a hint or can't take "no" for an answer (and many who apparently can't take showers, can't brush their teeth, or can't seem to go out in social settings without awkwardly embarrassing themselves).
The Rejection Hotline exists as a simple alternative to uncomfortable situations and it is a public service to both the rejector and to the rejectee!
I am a very absent minded person...I lose my car keys, lip gloss, hand lotion, even my CELL PHONE! I have never lost my camera yet, but there is a new website that has launched www.ifoundyourcamera.net where people find missing cameras and download pictures to the site. This could be scary for some people who enjoy taking risky pictures (Vanessa Hudgens)!! So, if you've recently misplaced that camera and are hoping someone finds it, check out the site. Maybe the picture of you hanging out at Aunt Ethel's 90th birthday party is not lost forever...but hopefully if your doing anything at Aunt Ethels party...no one finds it.
So since Christmas I've become addicted to the video game Halo 3. Now I'm slowly getting better to the point where I can almost compete with my friends...but last night I had a total reality check. Last night Mastermind stopped by my place with his kids, and his son Nate who is 12 years old beat me 25 to 6...it's one thing to be beaten by kids online...which I'm sure happens all the time...but to have it happen in your own living room is a whole other story. So hats off to you MasterChild...until we meet again.
So my friend send me an email about a chair I should try out. I spend a lot of time on my behind at work at home. And, there is a new chair...that is getting a lot of talk. I was going to put this as my health tip of the day, but I'm not 100% is works. He he he! Ellen used them on her show the other day. So, if I am making some odd noises next time I'm on air. It might be because I bought this chair... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9_amg-Aos4&feature=related Should I buy my boss one?! Dani
I don't know about you, but lately the on-going violence in our city has me a little bit scared. Especially when I'm out alone, so Alberta Self Defense is holding a free course for women. This way we can have a little bit of piece of mind in situations where we wish we knew a bit of butt kicking!!
If you would like to take part in the free course head to
www.fightwize.com.
You must email them to register for the course. You can do that at alberta_self_defence@yahoo.ca.
Let's kick some butt!!
Dani
Not only was it a great game from start to finish...except for half time (thanks for nothing Tom Petty)...there were some really entertaining ads. One of my favorites was the Shaq ad for vitamin water. You can check it out at www.vibe985.com/fuzzytube.
So, I'm not a HUGE talker on the telephone. I have never been one of those girls, who spends hours on her phone just chatting. If I haven't talked to a friend in awhile, or need to catch up, then I call. I don't use my phone for the sake of talking. I do, on the other hand use my FACEBOOK page for randmon nothingness. IS that the word? My best friend since Grade 6...called me a few times over the weekend, I was busy and never got the chance to call her back. And she never left a message, so I figured no biggie. This morning I check my facebook. And she wrote on my wall saying "since you never answer your phone, you should know that your going to be an aunty...I'm pregnant". Oh. Opps. So pick up your phone. And put down facebook. Should I send her a free gift on facebook to show her congrats?! hmmm. Probably not. I better call her today!
Break out the chips and dip. It's time for one of the biggest sporting events of the year...SUPERBOWL Sunday. (Of course the main event was the Grey Cup last year when the Riders won). I am excited for this Sunday's game. I'm not a HUGE NFL fan, but have been watching more and more games lately. I've always been a fan of HOTTIE Tom Brady, and perhaps the fact his team is in the finals, and undefeated may have another reason why me and my girlfriends will be watching. Also, the STAR factor. Can you believe they are doing a red carpet at the Superbowl?? Yeah. Ryan Seacrest will be hosting it. I'm not sure how I feel about that...seems a bit tacky for a big sporting event. But if Tom Brady is on the red carpet...BRING it on! Enjoy your Superbowl Sunday weekend! Plus, the food, celebs, and the commericals. I will enjoy my Tom Brady.
As the cold snap continues, I hope your staying as warm as you can!! Get some extra hot chocolate in you. I don't know if the cold snap is messing with my head/body or not. Yesterday, I woke up and my knee and hip bone were aching...ACHING really bad. I thought I just slept weird, but the 'ache' has continued til today. You know how senior citizens complain that they can feel the cold in their bones, is this happening to me?! It's the weirdest thing. I haven't done anything to make my knee/hip bone ache...no falling, nothing physical. IT's the oddest thing.
So, I'm not sure if it's the cold that is making my body hurt, but if it is...go back and bundle up. My knee is killing me. I need a walker.
Considering that I had never watched an episode of Two and A Half Men in the first 4 years it was on TV, I'm pleasantly surprised to find out that it's one of the funniest shows ever...and I have syndication to thank. I can't turn on the TV without finding an episode on...and because I've never watched it before , they're all new episodes.
A few weeks ago I signed up for ebay. I don't think this was a good idea!! So far, I've boughten a number of items that I really don't need. My first item of purchase, was the game from my past Connect Four. IT was only a loonie, and then 12 bucks shipping! Ha. My 2nd purchase was $2 SHOES...yes someone else's Adidas shoes, they arrived yesterday. I love them. I have also bought DVDs, eyeglasses, and a hoodie. Will the insanity stop?! So, I ask this...what is the silliest thing you have bought on EBAY?! My feet are tingly...I hope its not the two dollar shoes I'm wearing!!
Well it was great to have a new episode of House on TV Tuesday night...but because of the writers strike it was a Christmas themed one. Oh well at least it was the first of a bunch of new episodes...I can't wait for the next one on Sunday after the Super Bowl.
Ok...enough with the cold weather already mother nature. And to top it off some joker in the building turned on the air conditioning yesterday. At least it wasn't the Vibe studios.
It's a brand new year! 2008. I hope your Christmas & New Years celebrations were full of family, food and fun. I know today my pants are feeling a bit tight in the waist. So, I have decided to come up with a list of some REALISTIC new years resolutions, which I will try to keep!
#1. Get in SHAPE. Eat better. Typical stuff. Just be healthy. Seems easy enough.
#2. Save money. I guess those shoes will just have to wait...
#3. Read more. I forgot how much I love reading books. So I plan on reading a lot. Any good suggestions email me!
These are the main 3 that I am going to work on. So far, so good.
Are you looking at your Christmas lists and checking them twice...getting a headache because you have no clue what to buy anyone on your list. No fear...Dani and her Top 10 Christmas gift list is here. ha ha ha. Today's list is aimed at kids...or adults that act like children!

Brrrrrrrrrrr. I would have to say that I am just wondering where this crazy Chinook weather is I keep hearing about. Winter has officially arrived in the city. I hope your prepared...just a reminder to have that winter emergency kit handy in your car, because you just never know what Mother Nature has in store for us. On the plus side all the boarders and ski bunnies (including myself) are ready for another season on the mountain. Now, I just need to get my winter tires on for the drive out! Drive safe!
Dani
Ok. So, I think I will get more in the holiday spirit around Dec 1st or so. But I am in the HOLIDAY ORANGES aka CHRISTMAS orange spirit. I had such a craving for them last night I went and bought a box at the grocery store last night, and no joke...I ate at least 8 IN A ROW!! Is there something wrong with me?! Do people do this? Will I get sick?! I love them so much. I haven't had one today, but I know once I go home after work...they will tempt me. Mmmmm. So, today tell me about your fave holiday foods that you can't get enough of. Email me dani@vibe985.com. Pass the oranges!
Ahhhhh. It is that lovely time of the year when the malls are packed with the hustle and bustle of Christmas...spirit and credit cards racking up! If you have time check out a fantastic website called www.pigsback.com. This is a site you can SHOP online, and earn "Piggy" Points and redeem free stuff. And no, spam to your email. YOu can shop local shops in the city and nationwide. It's cool. www.pigsback.com.

Dangerous Toys For Sale This Holiday Season
(www.msnbc.msn.com)
A toy safety group released its annual "10 Worst Toys" list on Tuesday, highlighting both the hidden dangers like lead paint on a bathtub boat and more obvious hazards, such as a spinning plastic pirate's dagger.
World Against Toys Causing Harm has released the list around the holidays for 35 years, but this year it came amid a rash of recent recalls, particularly of toys made in China.
The toys on the 2007 WATCH list and the companies that make them are:
1. Go Diego Go Animal Rescue boat, by Fisher Price. Contains lead paint.

3 days of sleeping in!! I'm so excited to sleep in past 3am. The bags under my eyes are telling me to get some extra zzzz's this weekend. It's a busy weekend for me. Tonight I have SLUMLORD Stacie's going away party as she heads back to Saskatchewan. Then on Saturday my sister and a good friend are coming up to Calgary for the Edmonton Oilers/Flames game. We BETTER make it on the jumbotron. And then Sunday it's the BIG CFL game. Riders vs Stamps! I'm originally from SK, so I have to cheer for my boys. It's going to be a wild weekend. Don't forget this Sunday it is also REMEBERANCE DAY, and to take some time to remember those who lost their lives for us, and who are currently over fighting for us. Wear a poppy proud and do please give to the veterans. They helped our country become the great place it is today.
Yesterday on the show, Chad and I talked about this website we stumbled upon...www.seekingarrangement.com. What it is a website where you can search for a Sugar Daddy or Sugar Momma. It's like a dating service but you get paid to hang out with these people. Aka Sugar Daddy! I was searching the "Sugar Daddys" out, and one guy would pay a girl $20,000 A MONTH just to be his sugar baby. Would you have a relationship with a man/woman just for the cash?! Some of the 'sugar daddies' are pretty cute too...hmmm. Well if you want to see the site: www.seekingarrangement.com. Good luck. And if you get a
I love my coffee. IN the morning...on weekends reading the paper...and after a good hearty meal. I am not picky about my coffee brands, but I do have quite a hankering for the Raspberry Mocha @ Starbucks. Delicious!! Try it out. Also, am a fan of the Double Double at Tim's. I am just wondering where you think the best place to grab a cup of Joe is in the city?! Any recommendations? dani@vibe985.com. Mmm. I heart Coffee
.
Hello...HELLO...hi. Ok. Good. I can still hear. So for the past few days ok maybe a week or so, my ear has been hurting big time. I went to the doctor last week, and he said I do have an ear infection. This is my first one I have ever had. And never want another one again. I took my antibiotic pills, but I think it's back. It still hurts. Or is it suppose to for a few days after?! I also put peroxide in it...some guy told me too. What was I thinking, I don't know. But it feels good when I do. Yikes. Any tips!! Feel free me to dani@vibe985.com.
Well Halloween is over, and now it's on to the next big holiday...CHRISTMAS. Yikes. Chad and Fuzzy are ALREADY buzzing about Christmas. Am I a grinch? I'm not in the mood yet, it's like 2 months away almost!I do love the holidays, but it seems that it's too soon to be in the holiday spirit? Yesterday my sister and I were shopping at Sephora in the mall and heard...CHRISTMAS MUSIC. Too soon. I'm going to go put on my Halloween costume and eat some leftover candy.

A huge thank you to all our sponsors and to everyone who brought an unwanted bra or bought a paper bra down to Chinook Centre. Over $50,000 was raised for the breast cancer supportive care clinic. Marnie & Ali (Vibe PI's)joined us live on the show this morning to talk about their new Private Investigators show. I've had a ton of calls about people wanting to know more about the casting of this show, they are looking for people who think someone in their life might be doing something shifty...from shopping and hiding receipts, cheating, etc. If you want to apply for the show you can go to www.picasting.ca

The official countdown to Halloween is ON!! It's going to be on a Wednesday this year, and you can bet that I will be dressing up ALL DAY long! I love Halloween, it's almost like my Christmas. There is something about dressing up in costume that brings out the inner child in me. Or just my childish self! This year I am having difficulty deciding what to be for Halloween. Usually, by now I am already working on it. I'm stumped. I need your help. What do you think I should be?? Any tips/ideas are welcome at dani@vibe985.com.
And not a ghost...been there done that! Didn't get much candy.
October is BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH. Yesterday, it had an early head start with the CIBC Run for the Cure. WOW. What an amazing event. Over 15,000 Calgarians showed up to the event, and over 1.7 MILLION DOLLARS has been raised!! Wow. Everyone knows someone who has been affected by breast cancer, a mother, a friend, a sister, an aunt, a grandma. WE need to find a cure! And with October is the return of Bras for a Cause. More details coming very soon, on some fun events to raise money for the Breast Cancer Supportive Care Centre. Also, this month on my style/health file you will notice I will be focusing on breast cancer.
On October 14th VIBE will be taking part in SHIVER for LIVER raising money for the Canadian Liver Foundation. This event is going to be sooooo much fun. We get to do the zip line at COP, do some luging, and a trivia/treasure hunt. Amber Lee, Chad, Mastermind and I make up the VIBE Shiver team. If your interested in entering get 4 people together...family, friends, co-workers and register. You can call 276-3390 or email Debralee at dfernets@liver.ca. I'm actually pretty nervous about doing the zip-line. I should practice. Hmmmmm. A clothsline?? Let's make this event a huge success Calgary. www.
Well I've been in my new place for just over a week now and we're 68% unpacked...not bad I guess...the bad news is I still have 13 crates of records sitting in the back of a friends jeep that I still have to move.
Wow. I am turning into a bonafide COUCH POTATOE!! I can't believe this fall's TV shows. Is anyone else worried their social life might go downhill this fall, because we will all be sitting on the couch. Recently, I've been able to use a PVR, which HELPS a lot. This way you don't have to spend the ENTIRE night in front of the tube. You can fast forward commercials, pause if you have to go to the bathroom, and more. It's soooooooooo handy! I think I watched The Bachelor in like 45 MINUTES, when it was suppose to be 2 hours. My PVR will get a work out tonight...soooooo much is on. I'm excited for Private Practice, the spin off from Grey's Anatomy.
Today is the day Chad & Fuzzy will be down on Stephen Avenue in women's high heels. No, they aren't doing this to earn extra pocket dough. Today is Cardel's Walk A Mile. Local celebs and sports figures will walk a mile in women's high heels raising money for the Cardel Crisis Housing Fund. We are going to be hanging out on Stephen Ave at noon today for all the fun and excitement. I hear Chad will be wearing HOT pink pumps and maybe some sexy red one's for Fuzzy!! For more info you can hit up walkamile.ca. I have to give the boys props, I don't think I could even walk a mile in high heels! I will stick to my sneakers...but good on all the Calgary men man enough to wear the high heels and help out a great charity!! Watch for pictures soon...

Yes, fall officially arrives early on Sunday morning. And you know what that means. NEW TV!! WOW. IT's going to be a busy fall. Sooooooo many good TV shows are back. A few of my fave's that I'm addicted to include Grey's Anatomy, The Office (I heart Jim & Pam), America's Next Top Model, and the list goes on and on and on. This Sunday you can catch the season premiere of 2 of my fave animated shows Family Guy (they are doing a star wars scene) and the Simpsons (watch for Lionel Richie and Stephen Colbert). So get comfy on the couch...if it's a long winter that's ok...we will have McDreamy and Michael & Dwight to keep us occupied.
What a show last night!! Thank you to everyone for coming out to see VIBEFEST 2007 with Kardinal Offishall, Rihanna, and AKON. What a great night it was. I was soooooooo excited to see Rihanna, she is more beautiful live in person then in the tabloids. Speaking of tabloids and Rihanna...rumor has it that she got a boob job. Funny thing is last night, I noticed that they looked a little different!! Hmmmmmm. What do you think? Now, she is also still denying she is dating cutie Shia LaBeouf...will she deny going under the knife. Either way...no denying that she rocked the Corral last night. If you have pictures from the show or want to give me your review of the big show. Email me dani@vibe985.com
Ahhhhhhhhhh, fall. I LOVE FALL! It's my fave season of the year. Lot's of people pick summer because it's holiday time, you can wear less clothing, it's hot, but fall has always been my fave season. I think it has something to do with the colours of the trees. Calgary looks gorgeous in the fall! I also like fall the best because you can wear a hoodie and jeans and be comfortable your NOT sweating, or freezing to death, your just fine. I am going to enjoy these few weeks of fall, because you never know when old man winter will rear his head! Time for me to rake some leaves and then jump in them!!
TONIGHT is the night. Will Jaydee Bixby be crowned the next IDOL?! It's cool that he is from Alberta, and if he does win he will be the 3rd Albertan to win Idol (just like Kalan Porter and Melissa O'Neil). Does he deserve it...well that's up to all the Idol fans. So far, people are obviously loving Jaydee otherwise he wouldn't have made it this far.
What is it about Jaydee that people love? His boyish charm, his simple attitude toward life, his cowboy boots..or wait...his voice?! Hmmm. Tonight we will find out will be be Brian Melo or Jaydee Bixby. So vote away!
Hey, at least Jaydee has more moves right now then Britney Spears!
1 week and counting til the big move...man I hate packing. There needs to be some kind of a time machine so I can skip past the packing and jump right to next week when we move in. Luckily we're only moving a few blocks away so I can remain the unofficial mayor of Cranstonia.
I think I will need some help soon. I'm addicted to Guitar Hero!! My roomates just bought it, and even though I suck...I can't get enough. I would type more but seriously I need to get home and practice!! If you like Guitar Hero join me tonight @ Coyotes, where you can battle it out on the big screen. And if you have any tips for me...or ways to cure my addiction. E-mail me. Dani@vibe985.com

The smells of back to school still fill the air. And, seriously I'm jealous of the kids going back to class. From the elementary kids to the U of C students working on their B.A.'s. I was not a nerd in school, I wasn't get straight A's, but I liked it!! It must have been a social thing for me. Right now, it's still at the fun stage for kids...catching up with old friends, not too much homework, and seeing who has changed the most over the summer. Today on our VIBE Survey Says...we survyed VIBE listeners and found out that their fave subject in school is MATH. Now, I said I liked school, however math was not for me. I remember being in Grade 4 learning long division and getting a HORRIBLE grade on my test, and you had to get your parents to sign the test, but I was too scared, so instead I hid it...IN MY DAD'S WORK COAT! Not the smartest idea. I remember the next night at supper he brought it out, and after that I was stuck after school learning long division. Which in the end worked out. It is still ingrained in my head!!
Take out the pencils, notebooks...pack the lunches. It's back to school. Yesterday, was the official FIRST day of school. (Some kids were back earlier some later, but a majority of kids were back at the books yesterday). Can I say...I'm a bit jealous.
I remember going back to school...and getting sooooooooo excited for new school supplies and new clothes. I think it was grade 8, back in Handel School (Sask), that I was counting down the days until I could wear my new red SAAN Store jeans, and cut off cowboy boots. And then showing up my first day...and everyone else, who is like 4 other people had the EXACT SAME OUTFIT. I guess that is what happens when you do your school shopping in Unity, SK along with the rest of your family!!! I want to know...do you have a back to school outfit that you thought ROCKED! And do you remember the cut off cowboy boots?!?! I googled for a picture of them, because Fuzzy and Chad don't remember how cool they were, but I turned up nothing. Maybe there were a SK fad.
Ahhhhhhhhhh. 3 DAYS of sleeping in. I am SO EXCITED!! To sleep. And of course to fly back home. It's my first time flying home to Saskatoon...by myself. I'm scared. I'm like a little kid, I think I need one of those tags just incase I get lost. It will be nice to go back to Saskie to enjoy some Rider Pride and Pilsner! I plan on eating a bunch of home cooked meals at mom's place in Davidson, seeing some friends in S'toon and watching the Riders kick the Bombers butts. I will also cheer for the Stamps on Monday as they battle the dreaded Eskimos!! The Vibe Morning Show is off Monday, but back on air Tuesday. And Tuesday is the day parents are excited for...and kids dread. BACK TO SCHOOL!!!! Join us Tuesday as we have a bunch of back to school fun.
WOW!! We are one day away from the long weekend. THE LABOUR DAY LONG WEEKENED. I'm so excited. I'm flying home to Saskatoon to see my family that I have not seen since March, so it should be a good time. I've told Chad & Fuzzy I will be coming home with lot's of Saskatchewan stuff. Like Wheat Pool hats, Vico, and of course some Rider gear!! The one thing I'm not excited for is my Westjet bill....$500 to fly back to Saskatoon. I could fly to Las Vegas cheaper. I wish I was from Nevada.
One more day...

Wow what an awesome show last night. Big highlights of the night...Timbaland's mid-show performance...and the crazy fan who managed to get on stage during the encore...that's why it pays to stay till the end of a show...you never know what you'll miss...
The only thing that would have made the show better is if it was in Calgary instead of Edmonton...
Fuzzy
WOW!! What a show!! It was way too much fun. First off, I want to thank all the VIBE winners who made the VIBE SEXY buses sooooooo much fun. Also...a big thanks to Wendy and the crew from Influence on 17th for doing the lovely hand massages, hair, and bringing a bunch of goodies. And of course Edible Arrangements for the tasty chocolate covered strawberries. Those did not last long on the sexy bus.
It was AN AMAZING CONCERT! I missed Good Charolette, so if you saw them and have a review send me a e-mail. When Justin took to the stage...it was probably the loudest at a concert that I have ever been too. I've been to some really loud rock shows...and this took the CAKE. He rocked out with a tight show, and Timbaland did a set and had everyone up dancing.
Oh la la. We get our own daily blogs!! How fun. So, the question is...what does one write in their first VIBE blog?! Talk about the big JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE show...or how about VIBE Pay Your Bills contest is back...or the big SUMMER STICKER patrol giveaway this Thursday...or my feelings?!! So many different things to talk about. For the first official "VIBE" blog...I will talk about (drum-roll please) Justin Timberlake and VIBE's BUSTLOOSE DOT COM SEXY BUS!! I have never been on a "SEXY" bus. So I'm super EXCITED. The only buses I have been on are Greyhound and the school bus.
