Idol Memories

I love seeing past American idol's. Some we remember some we forget or never hear from again. I also have to mention I have a new favorite show. It's called don't forget the lyrics. I guess I love it because the combination of the hilarious Wayne Brady as the host and of course the music but for any Karaoke guru it's a ton of fun. Even sitting on your couch watching you end up singing your fav tunes and ones you have also forgotten about. Either way you are trying to see if you can remember the words to these songs and yelling at the contestants if they don't know them and you do.

GO FLAMES GO IN DA DOME!

Here we go again! Tonight we are gonna be glued to the tube (Or our seats) With another Flames playoff game on tap for tonight! Finally the Flames are back on home ice @ the dome! It's game number 3 and the series is tied so it'll be a nail biter! Lets hope we get the lead when this game is done tonight! Catch all the action from the dome @ 8pm on CBC! Whether you were lucky enough to get tix to the game or your like me and will be checking it out on the tube make sure to tune in and show your support!

Weekend planning!

Ok so minus a crazy day of snow it's supposed to be a beautiful weekend! So make sure to get out there and enjoy it! Light up the Barbie kick back and relax! Or..........There are a ton of things going on in our city this weekend. First the Vibe 985 100,000 star search. Auditions Start bright and early Saturday morning at Tantra! Also if you love yourself some Entourage well Kevin Dillion aka Johnny Drama will be in the house First for a big party at Wild Ginger but also make sure to drop by Tantra as well for the Vip party with drama as well! OH MY!!!!!

The New Kids On The Block aka NKOTB have offically announce a reunion tour and will be on the today show tomorrow! Now i managed to grab a copy of their new publcity shot! These boys are all growed up! I used to be jordan's fav fan but based on this shot i may have to lean towards Joey now I know what all my Girl friends were raving about with that kid. See the attached photo above! (ENJOY) Hopefully the do better with their reunion than the bsb's did! They are slated to play a state fair soon with tix less than 30 buckarro's ouch!

Crazy April Fools Joke or the Truth????? It's being reported that after years of dating Jay-Z and Beyone have gotten themselves a marraige licence! Now the news came out yestarday so most thought it may be an April Fools joke but no end to the rumours yet. With the licence they got they have a long time to plan a wedding but the latest gossip is they are getting married Friday!

Well the jokes were good today...First Fuzzy's payback for the chad balloon office incident...See Fuzzy tube for the fun. To TSN.ca posting a story about Calgary Flames players testing positive for steroids and being suspended and if that wasn't bad enough the also claimed to have taken away 10 points which would have definitely killed our playoff hopes.....Now I knew this was fake but it was fun watching my friends freak out lol.

80's Update

I blogged awhile ago regarding the 80's comeback and now I have more proof! MJ has re-released his thriller album, George Micheal is heading out on tour again. They are creating a spin off of Beverly hills 90210 and the final proof......The New Kids On The Block are reuniting for a tour! it all kicks off with an appearance on the today show friday!

More Easter Weekend Activites

I've Got My Dancing Shoes on!

Tonight is the night! I am not the biggest fan of reality TV but there are a couple shows that I have to tune into. First Big Brother and second Dancing With The Stars! The latter has it's season premire tonight! I am stoked to see Pracilla Presley!!!!! and If Mario can't dance I will be shocked! I also think Kristy is great on a pair of skates but how is she on her feet????? I guess we will have to watch and find out!

Weekend!

The weekend is here and there is a ton to do in this city! You could head out for a great meal and support a great cause at the same time! Cops 'n' Lobsters is on! Make a dinner plan to head to one of the three Red Lobster locations from 4-9 tonight and you can make a donation to one of the officers busing your table and the money goes to support Special Olympics. Also The auto show is at the round up centre and If you are looking to head in out of the cold I recommend a couple of flicks. For the adults and teens Never back down and if you want to take the kids out check out Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears A Who.

TV is back....Well almost

Well some of our favorite shows are headed back to the tube! after months of reality TV (with a few shows sprinkled in) The dates are starting to appear for the debuts (again) of those shows we have been missing. I do question if the writers strike will have me tuning out on a few of those shows. I have been thinking about the ones I can't wait to see return....and the ones I really didn't miss that much...Hummmm we will have to see what shows I have lost interest in...(how about u) I'll keep ya updated.

The Weekend Madness

OK so it's been awhile since I had the weekend off....Not that i'm complaining! My job is weekends and overnights after all. But since it is rare I get excited to hang with my crew and do something! And I get to stay up late yay!!!!! I am gonna start off by hosting the Whiskey's Fresh Vibe Friday tomorrow night so come on down and party it up! We are thinking a girls night out Saturday maybe Tangerine???? Then to finish it up on Sunday I think the Fiance and I are gonna go Ice skating.....I know when it's this nice outside why would I choose ice skating... I haven't been yet this season but it never works out with my schedule so ice skating it is!!!!! Get out and enjoy this weekend and don't forget to spring your clocks ahead on Sunday!!!

What are you doing while at work?

There is a trend in the US that we may see hitting our workplaces soon. Employers are once again monitoring what we are doing on the computer while at work. Most of them have found we are spending far too much time checking facebook or checking out the latest videos posted on You Tube. (really they had to check up on us to figure this out)So they are now blocking employees from accessing these site at work. Productivity in the workplace is down and this is there solution to combat the problem. If you walk into any office place these days I guarantee you will find at least one person doing one of the above. So watch out because the block could be coming your way soon. Now we will have to go back to talking to each other too much to waste all that time!

Tween Girls are screaming!

Next Tuesday every parent of tween girls has a chance to become the most treasured parent of all time! (at least for the day anyway) Miley Cyrus aka Hanna Montana's concert CD/DVD will hit store shelves. (Let me just say I am happy that on that day I will not be working at a video or cd store)So parents whatever your plans are on Tuesday add one stop to a CD/Video store near you to pick up every little girls dream and also make a stop at a store with ear plugs as well...Because It will be a couple weeks Of Miley aka Hanna mania on your tv!

Leap Year!

Well it's one of those strange years where we have an extra day in February...Not sure I like that because it means an extra day of winter! But I do have to say happy birthday to all who are celebrating their birthday today! You only get to celebrate every 4 years so it means you have alot of catching up to do, so get out there and have some fun! I kinda wish my birthday was on a leap year because it would mean right now I would only be 7 years old! Ok so not technically but I like it anyway!

Are The 80's Really Coming Back?

Well I have been hearing the rumors for awhile now....The 80's are making a come back. I have noticed the 80's sound style in alot of music lately...Jay-Z talks about it on a new track. Madonna is releasing a new album..(ok so she isn't 80's so much any more) But it feels like the 80's stars are on the mend Micheal Jackson with his re-release, Mariah with another album, Whitney Houston making a comeback and Janet's album too. And of course even George Micheal had a guest appearance on Eli Stone! Let's also not forget they are saying leggings and neon are this years style in the fashion world and Kanye's tour is all about glow in the dark with that neon. That definitely reeks of the 80's. Ok so it's not definite proof but I think I may have stumbled on the reality! Apparently In the UK the 80's comeback movement is huge! (We all know what happens there usually shows up here a year or so later.) There music has gone 0's the hair and clothing styles as well...But what I saw really confirmed my wost fears. While on you tube (with a little help from Perez Hilton) I saw the new UK dance craze and man that is 80's... Check it out yourself @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5XN-yiAj0Y. I am really scared now! I remember shirts that changed color when you touched them. Back combing my hair to unimaginable heights and if time was allotted crimping! And who were those 2 dogs on the tie dye shirts I used to wear? I'm going to hide under the bed till it's all over!

Crazy Wedding Feelings

Well Tonight is it! @ Midnight we wrap up voting for the Vibe985 98 thousand dollar dream wedding! Tomorrow Morning The Vibe Morning Show announces a winner. Now this isn't the first time we have done this contest but for me it's the most exciting one. Last year I was a girl just getting into a relationship and the dream wedding was a nice thought. For a woman who wasn't sure what she was looking for when it came to relationships I wasn't really thinking about my we3dding. Sure I had thought of what it would be like in the past but it seemed so far away I could be happy for our winning couple but not really realize what this would do for their lives. Well this time around it's a little different! This time I'm engaged, and while the wedding is a little ways off I am starting to think about what I'll have to do...How muchit will cost and sometimes it just freaks me right out! I mean really overwhelming! Every little detail costs money and if your planning it on you own it takes alot of your time as well. I actually have panic attacks when I think about it to much! So this time I am really excited for the winning couple and I admit a little Jealous! But I can't wait to see who wins tomorrow morning!

1 Year Ago ---Really??

It was a year ago at this time I remember breaking the news on the air that Britney had gone nuts and shaved her head. That doesn't feel like a year ago. It seem like we have been in this crazy period in Brit's life for awhile, but since the craziness seems so repetitive it feels like just yesterday it all started. I really do feel for her. I have a cousin that is bi-polar and if that diagnoses is true for Brit if she gets the help she needs we could see the pop star back to her former glory. But I am starting to think it may be too little too late for the former queen of pop. Though I have to say Minus her former manager she does look a lot better.

Women and Music

This is a great time for women and music. Some amazing ladies coming out with new cd's. Janet Jackson's Disapline in just a couple weeks. Mariah Carey's new album E=MC2 in April and Madonna has her hip hop album on the way just to mention a few. I am loving this!

Crazy Valentines

Wow what an amazing week!!! Valentines brought me cupid's arrow for sure. My Boyfriend Brendon and I got engaged! I am a little speechless. I do love and adore him and I think the timing is right. We probably won't get married till Spring 2009 but it is definatly an amazing feeling. For those of you who have been through it know what I'm talking about. For those of you who haven't..You will and when you do you're going to love evey minute of it! My ring is amazing! I bought him one as well I just thought it was the right thing to do to show him how much I care. We got them at Jewels by Maximes an amazing store for you guys who are thinking of spending the rest of your life with someone or you gals who are picking yours out! Happy Valentine's to all!

Grammy Performance review

Ok so as always the Grammy's were long but it is the Superbowl event for musicians! I actually kept an eye on the festivities this year! Quite Entertaining! I actually watched without changing the channel! While watching I found myself rating the performances ( there were a ton of them) First I would have to say My fav of the night was Kanye West! First the funky glowing lights to my fav song Stronger and when he sang his tribute to mom I admit I cried....But so did half the audience! Now I think Alicia did great on all of her performances as did Amy Whinehouse. (though I have to say it was eerie to watch her sing about not wanting to go to rehab while looking like skeletor, can we say Janis Joplin?) I liked the Beatles tribute with Cirque  & I loved Beyonce and Tina Turner, Though surprisingly I think Tina out did Beyonce.. Now I have to talk about the mishaps. Loved the vocals of Rihanna's team up with time, But hated the outfit and hair....what was up with that? And as much as I love Fergie Ferg I though she should have done a hit song as apposed to the ballad which I thought sounded a it weak. And why would you have John Ledgend on stage with you if he ain't gonna sing? Just my observations. I know there were a ton more but I though I should stick to my best and worst. Everything else was in between in my books! Anyone agree?

Writers Strike!

Well it looks like the end could be near....Sources are saying an agreement is close to being reached between the studios and Guild! Now I couldn't be happier to know that new TV could be upon us soon....But I am also realistic....It will be months before we get our Fav shows back....So we are in for the long hall with b class series TV and reality reality reality shows. The one good thing to come out of this strike for Canada is the US is coming to us to pick up some of our series to fill up their prime time hrs. We get some recognition for our work but since most of us don't watch those shows over here I don't see the US checking em out either.

Is Winter Sticking around or is Spring on the way!!!!

Happy Groundhog Day!!

With the recent temperatures here in Calgary the question on everyone's mind is .... Will Winter continue or is Spring on the way? Well today we may have gotten the answer! Our closest Groundhog Balzac Billy busted out of his hole and no shadow appeared....His prediction is that Spring is on the way! His cousin Sam from outside Halifax has the same prediction!. Now Hog Phil from Ontario disagrees, His shadow was clear as day. But hopefull this just means Ontario is not winter free and we are. Though I do have to say. Last year Billy predictied the same thing and well we had snow in May! Let's hope that was a fluke!
