Branching out from his early days with neo-psych eccentrics Mercury Rev, Dave Fridmann developed into one of indie rock's premier producers in the late '90s. Fridmann's trademark sound was lush, spacious, and shimmering, equally capable of turning gentle pop songs or walls of guitar noise into dreamy, trippy miniature symphonies. Making his name via Mercury Rev's Deserter's Songs and The Flaming Lips' The Soft Bulletin, Fridmann's slate rapidly expanded to include acclaimed work with Sparklehorse, Mogwai, Elf Power, and Mercury Prize nominees The Delgados, Ed Harcourt, and Gemma Hayes, among others.
