Los Angeles-based punk trio Mercy Killers follow in the footsteps of influences like The Damned, T.s.o.l., Generation X, and The Clash. The group formed around vocalist/guitarist Craig Fairbaugh (ex-The Forgotten), who had previously done time touring with bands like The Transplants and Lars Fredericksen & The Bastards. He hooked up with bassist/vocalist Sam "sampire" Soto (ex-Sluts For Hire, Original Sinners) upon a recommendation from friend Tim Armstrong, later meeting drummer Colin Berrill while on tour in Ireland with The Bastards. A native of Dundalk, Ireland, Berrill was a longtime member of the Irish punk group the Gurriers before signing on with Fairbaugh and Soto. Mercy Killers released a self-titled four-song EP on Rancid Records in 2005, which was reissued the following year as a split on I Scream Records with Belgium's Enemy Rose entitled ...and To Become One. Their debut full-length, Bloodlove, appeared on Hellcat in summer 2006. ~ Corey Apar, All Music Guide
