Possibly a bootlegNULL No credits or notes but 27 pre-Dial/Atlantic tracks, what would seem to be a complete run of his material recorded for King, Anna, and other labels before he hit with "Hold What You Got." Opens invaluably with both parts of "All I Could Do Was Cry," which Tex recorded before Etta James had her hit with it. Includes some of his most clever novelties, notably "Charlie Brown Got Expelled," answering the Coasters' hit "Granny Stole the Show," which prefigures the humor of his hits, and "Davy, You Upset My Home," his first single. Read More
