Lou Rawls' soulful voice and romantic style are well featured on this sampler CD, which draws its music from three of his Blue Note albums from 1989-92. The bluesy ballads find Rawls in fine form, and there are brief contributions from tenors Stanley Turrentine, David "fathead" Newman and Joe Lovano, altoist Hank Crawford, and (during a memorable "At Last") fellow singer Dianne Reeves.
